Since the current White House disagrees with his liberal left philosophies, and his blind religiosity concerning the man-made climate change myth, California Governor Jerry Brown has decided to go over the head of the President of the United States in a manner some may consider seditious.
Governor Brown is in Germany, right now, negotiating an alliance with foreign countries, in defiance of the Trump administration, and the United States Constitution (which is the Law of the Land).
He's joined by fellow traitors of the Constitution Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, Oregon Governor Kate Brown and billionaire environmental activist Tom Steyer.
A coalition of leftist-led U.S. Cities are also screaming out that they are in for an alliance with the United Nations over Climate Change.
CNBC sets the count of cities and States willing to flip the bird at the U.S. Constitution at 200 cities and at least 12 states. The rebel cities and States have all announced plans to support the Paris Agreement, despite President Donald Trump's June decision to withdraw the United States from the climate accord.
The United States Constitution was designed specifically to allow only the federal government to be engaged in international and foreign affairs. The States, while holding a certain level of sovereignty and autonomy, are only constitutionally authorized to handle their internal affairs, and are constitutionally required to leave all foreign affairs to the federal government.
The relevant clauses of Article I, Section 10 provide that "No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation" and that "No State shall, without the Consent of Congress … enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign power."
The liberal left does not understand States' Rights, and tries to wield it only when other means of pushing their tyrannical leftist agenda doesn't work at the federal level. The Democrats have proven that they don't care what the black letter of the law in the Constitution says. All that matters to them is their narrative, and their interpretation of the Constitution in order to twist it in their favor.
The problem is, their actions regarding the Paris Accord, if they enter into an agreement with foreign powers, are not only unconstitutional, but could be also viewed as being treasonous.
The leftists' argument is that the "The Paris Agreement among nations isn't legally binding," so that makes it okay.
The Constitution does not address constitutionality based on whether or not an agreement is legally binding. Article I, Section 10 specifically says that States cannot "enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign power."
"ANY" agreement, legally binding, or not.
CNBC argues that States can constitutionally link their cap and trade plans into those of foreign countries.
Wrong! Once again, the Constitution says States cannot "enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign power."
Jerry Brown, and his fellow governors and mayors seeking a climate agreement with foreign entities should be arrested, removed from office, and replaced by special election for their seditious and illegal behavior.
The problem is, if the Trump administration did that, it would be seen as a fascist-style series of arrests by the leftist media and leftist political class; so the GOP will sit by idly as the Democrats continue to commit treason against the United States out of fear of defending the Supreme Law of the Land.
