The lead republican for the California Governor's race is Travis Allen. Governor Jerry Brown has termed out, and aside from the main Democrats, former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Travis Allen is the main event when it comes to the race. In all, there are 49 candidates, with Republican John Cox not too far behind, but his Neighborhood Legislature idea would be disastrous for California, and based on my past conversations with him, he is hardly a conservative in my opinion.
Meanwhile, Travis Allen, the Huntington Beach native and current member of the California Assembly, has vowed to bring California back from the brink, and to do it with a sharp and cool Trump-style brand of conservatism.
He can stand his ground on a number of issues, and I even saw him kick some tail on a video before a Hispanic crowd, recently.
I have met Travis Allen a number of times, and he has a great message, and doable strategies, for stopping the leftwing-induced downhill skid that California is experiencing.
Recently in Riverside, however, I was at an event where a friend of mind, Gina Gleason from Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, questioned Allen's pro-life credentials. He's definitely not leading with his alleged pro-life beliefs in the campaign, preferring to use issues that stir the voters that may not necessarily normally vote for him.
In the conversation, Gleason alleged that Travis Allen abstained from two votes regarding abortion, so she believes he's lying to us when he says he's pro-life. If he was truly pro-life, she contends, he would have voted regarding those measures. He explained to her that he is pro-life, but he did not remember the votes in question. Then he said that his record shows he's pro-life, of which Gina Gleason did not accept.
I later, on a different occasion, asked Travis Allen face to face if he was pro-life, and he assured me that he is.
As for the votes in question, while he could not remember the situation, I have stated to people that sometimes bills come up that are not good to vote for, in either direction. Sometimes, there will be riders in them that, if you vote one way will give you a negative image, and if you vote the other way, you still get a negative image for a different reason. Therefore, sometimes the best move is to abstain.
That may have been the case regarding Allen's pro-life vote failure that Gleason is hammering him about.
Curious about how the abortion industry views Allen, I went to Planned Parenthood's website. They give grades regarding politicians. The lower the grade, the more pro-life the politician.
On their 2017 Legislative Scorecard, Planned Parenthood gives Travis Allen a 0% score. . . which is about as pro-life as you can get.
So, for those of you who refuse to vote for candidates who are not pro-life, in my opinion, Travis Allen fits the bill as a very pro-life candidate.

Mr. Allen in 2016 had favorable rating (in PPs' eyes) with PP. The right to be born is the most important to me. The Assemblyman doesn't feel the life issue is that important to him, then I don't need to vote for him.

I did a lot of research on this exact issue with respect to Travis Allen's tenure in the California State Assembly. Here's what I found.
2017 - 2018 Legislative Session
There have been 3 bills related to abortion so far, and they have all been House Resolutions which are simply "statements" to the federal government recognizing the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. He voted No on one and did not vote on the other two. These are all non-starters.
2015 - 2016 Legislative Session
Another House Resolution that he voted no on. There was also AB-775, the Reproductive FACT Act (currently tied up in proceedings at the US Supreme Court level) that he also voted no on. AB-1954 he did not vote on.
2013 - 2014 Legislative Session
AB-154 and AB-980 that he did not vote on. AB-154 was one of those "no win" situation votes. Voting for it or against it would have indicated support for abortion in some way. It was about allowing abortion practitioners to perform aspiration abortions.
Travis is most certainly ProLife. I hope this information helps you convince others.
Earl, the reason he had a favorable rating with Planned Parenthood in 2016, is because he voted in favor of removing taxes from the purchase of feminine napkins. Planned Parenthood doesn't just rate people based upon their stance on Abortion, they rate them across all perceived women's issues.
Travis Allen is a Conservative, and believes in removing taxes, he saw this as one way to reduce the taxes Californians pay when they go to the store.

Douglas, I'm sorry but you're either a liar or an idiot, as a little more than five second research will prove! Travis Allen flip flops from pro-abortion to pro-electioneering, every other year he has a favorable voting record according to Planned Parenthood ratings, so in 2015 and 2017 he wasn't pro-abortion, but in 2014 and 2016 he was as pro abortion as many California Democrats. This tells me he has no backbone, not moral convictions, and he's another useless California politician. - James Freibert
