Developing: The Rise of the Golden State Coalition

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Republican Party has pretty much written off California.  Aside from trying to protect Mimi Walters' seat, Dana Rohrbacher's seat, and Darrell Issa's seat (and perhaps helping Kimberlin Brown Pelzer in her race), money from the GOP is not going to be spent in California.  The big wigs don't wish to throw money into what they consider to be losing causes, so candidates for governor, or other major State offices, and most of the congressional seats and all of the State legislature seats aren't going to be bothered with.

What people don't realize is that in his losing effort in California, Donald Trump earned more votes than Governor Jerry Brown did in his winning effort.  Also, if it wasn't for California, Trump may not have been elected, at all.  It was volunteers from California, the largest volunteer force in the race, calling the battleground States that moved Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan in Trump's direction.

I am in a meeting in Garden Grove right now for a group calling themselves the Golden State Coalition.  The united candidates under the calling God has on our lives is, so far, Travis Allen (for governor), Paul Taylor (for Senate), Mark Meuser (for Secretary of State), David Hernandez (for Lt. Governor), Edwin Duterte (for Congress) and Kimberlin Brown Pelzer (for Congress).

I will keep you posted as this coalition advances, and grows. . .
