Temecula Constitution Class Restart

In case you haven't heard, tonight's the night that Constitution Classes by Douglas V. Gibbs return to Temecula.  Since the closing of Faith Armory on Winchester Road, the Temecula classes have been suspended.

With the assistance of the Riverside County Republican Party, and thanks to the emergence of the idea of my moving my classes to the GOP headquarters by County Chairman Jonathan Ingram, the classes will resume (and restart) at the Riverside County Republican Headquarters at 28120 Jefferson Ave., in Temecula tonight, August 1.

The upcoming schedule for the Wednesday Night Classes are as follows, please note that each session will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm:

August 1: Introduction to the Constitution, General Constitutional Information
August 8: Lesson 1: Historical Influences and the Preamble
August 15: Lessons 2-4: Legislative Branch
August 22: Lessons 5-8: Executive and Judicial Branches
August 29: Lessons 9-11: Concerning the States, Amendments, Federal Supremacy, Ratification
September 5: Lessons 12-14: Intro to the Bill of Rights, Amendments 1, 2 and 3
September 12: Lessons 15-16: Legal Amendments (4-8), Rights Not Enumerated (9), States' Rights (10)
September 19: Lesson 17: Checking the Judiciary (Amendment 11), Electoral Adjustments (Amendment 12)
September 26: Lesson 18: Reconstruction Amendments (13-15)
October 3: Lesson 19: Progressive Era (Federal Reserve, Amendments 16 and 17)
October 10: Lessons 20-21: Modern Amendments (18 through 27)
October 17: Test Day (if you wish to earn a certificate to hang on the wall)

I will also be holding study group sessions on the 2nd and 4th Monday Nights of each month at the same location, but from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.  Then, from 7:00 to 8:00 on those nights a question and answer session for those who are trying to either better understand the material from Wednesday Night, or for people who have general constitutional questions as they pertain to today's political environment.

All people are welcome to any of the sessions.  All I ask is that you are courteous, respectful, and that you do not disrupt the educational environment.

There is no registration required, you may join us at any time (so if you missed the first couple classes, feel free to still come, you will still learn), and if you wish to test at the end for a certificate I suggest you bring materials for taking notes.  While I will provide water, pizza, pocket constitutions, and information, it is up to you to provide for yourself anything else.

The classes are conducted at no cost, but I have a gift recommendation of $5.00 per person to help with my expenses. Larger gifts are welcome, as well, and are in fact encouraged.  The only fee at anytime will be on the last day.  There will be a $10 testing fee, and $15 for the certificate if you succeed.  I do not give out participation certificates or trophies.  If you wish to receive a prize for merely participating, I am sure I can find the address to the other political party's headquarters, for you.

Looking forward to seeing you tonight, or any night coming up.  Thanks for being a patriot.

Blessings,

Douglas V. Gibbs
