‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and All Through the Country…

Merry Christmas, 2022...

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the country

The Electric Cars were whirring, stalled on roads so wintry;

The windmills were frozen so no electricity came from there,

And the sun was hidden so the solar panels ran bare;

The children were confused as they lay in their beds;

While visions of socialism remained stuck in their heads;

And President Biden sat silently, the ice cream truck has passed,

He was just happy that this time his incontinence had only gassed,

Then out on the lawn between the White House and the fence,

Something was whistling and tossling, it made no sense.

Biden slowly rose from his chair to view what was happening,

It could be ice cream he seemed to be fathoming.

The light of the city reflected on new fallen snow,

It made what was out there a blur in the glow,

Then what to his wandering mind should appear,

But a scene he abhorred, a truth he came to fear,

With a wavy hairdo, and a body lively and pumped,

Biden knew in a moment it was Donald J. Trump.

More rapid than the Capitol Police Trump’s supporters arrived,

Biden blinked hoping it was just something his brain had contrived.

"Now, Democrats! now, Commnists! now Biden and Harris!

Go away, go away, the country you’ve embarrassed!

Then to the top of the steps and up and up, what a show!

To the roof did rise Trump and his faithful supporters go!

The leaves on the sidewalk flew up in a wisp,

Leaving Biden’s confused brain frying to a crisp;

He ran down the stairs to the main room in a flash,

And down the chimney came Trump with a powerful crash.

He was dressed all in red, from his hair to his toes,

Why he was there, God only knows;

A bundle of ballots he had flung on his back,

He had found them in the trash balled up in a sack.

His eyes—how they glared! His hair, how unique!

His height was astounding, cherry were his cheeks.

His tongue was ready, his mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the gleam in his eye made Biden’s fear more so grow;

Trump’s supporters gathered round in a tight woven circle,

And Biden became as defiant as Germany’s Chancellor, Merkel;

Trump was firm in his approach, strong in his stance

It made Biden shake like a jellyfish, spineless and askance.

With a wink of Trump’s eye and a twist of his fist

He was a strong solid creature the country so missed;

He spoke only two words, as he stood there so tall,

Filling Biden with a mixture of panic and awe,

The words echoed in Biden’s mind, nestling deep there,

It was words he could only blink at, and then he gave a long stare;

Then Trump sprang to the roof, the lawn and the street,

Vanishing quickly amidst the falling sleet.

And as he departed Biden thought about what had transpired,

With those two words echoing in his head, a mighty, “You’re Fired”
