How FDR Refused to Shorten WWII, and Stop Communism in Europe

The son-in-law of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Curtis B. Dall, in his book published in 1968 titled, F.D.R. My Exploited Father-In-Law: An Intimate Account of the Man, the Regime and the Legacy, recounts conversations he had regarding the World Wars.  Former Pennsylvania Governor George Earle’s nephew, Edward W. Shober, was a friend of Dall’s.  The two men had previously conversed about the events which led the United States into World War II “against the wish and desire of the majority of Americans.”  Dall wrote that the, “subsequent losses in American lives, materials and treasure seemed to provide merely the means for a Soviet victory, planned in advance.”

Ed Shober and Dall “discussed in detail how this country had been cleverly maneuvered into World War I by Woodrow Wilson, aided by Justice Louis Brandeis and others.  In that war, we also emerged with nothing except great losses in men and material.”

Ed, referring to a conversation he had had with his uncle, George Earle, the former governor of Pennsylvania from 1935 to 1939, told Dall that Earle “could tell you a remarkable story that would curl your hair featuring your former father-in-law, FDR, and himself.  You should hear it directly from him.  The American people should know about it…it’s about a German peace proposal to end World War II, presented to us by the highest authorities, and about other invaluable information gathered by him at Istanbul in 1943.”

Shober continued, “The Soviets were then our purported Ally, but were busy establishing themselves in Europe as our potential enemy.  They were, of course, largely supported by our military aid and by our materiel [military materials and equipment].  You may recall that President Roosevelt appointed my Uncle as his personal Naval Attaché to neutral Istanbul, Turkey, to secure information about what was really going on in the Balkans and in Germany.  In that connection, he performed!  Apparently, he performed too well to suit the New York, Washington policy makers who were calling the war plays.

Dall set up to meet George Earle for lunch two weeks later, a man who had held numerous important positions of trust for his country.  His words, therefore, carried considerable authority.  In 1943, just before FDR and Churchill met at Casablanca, FDR appointed Commander Earle as his personal naval attaché to Istanbul, Turkey.  He said, “Dall, I told your former father-in-law, FDR, when I was his naval attaché in Istanbul, how we could greatly shorten World War II (almost two years).  He wouldn’t listen to me, or shall I say, he wasn’t allowed to listen to me!  Can you believe that?”

Earle began his story, which began in Istanbul, Turkey, in the spring of 1943.  At an eatery Earle got into a melee with a bunch of German Nazis, at one point making a “direct diplomatic hit with a bottle upon a certain Nazi noggin.”

Some time after, Earle received a visitor at his hotel room.  The man at his door identified himself as Admiral Wilhelm Canaris, head of the German Secret Service.  Canaris explained a considerable number of Germans who loved their Fatherland greatly disliked Hitler; the German leader, in their opinion, was leading Germany down a destructive path.  The unconditional surrender policy concocted by Churchill and Roosevelt in Casablanca would never be accepted by the German generals.  However, “if Roosevelt would merely indicate he would accept an honorable surrender from the German Army, tendered to the American Forces, such an event could be arranged; that the real enemy of western civilization (the Soviets) could then be stopped.  The German Army, if so directed, would move to the Eastern Front to protect the West against the crunching drive of the Soviet Army coming from the East, powered, fed and armed by Roosevelt’s land-lease equipment.  The Soviets aimed to establish themselves as the supreme power in Europe and were obviously deceiving the American people, aided by their many high-level agents placed in the U.S.”

A meeting with the German Ambassador, Fritz von Papen, followed, who also had strong anti-Hitler feelings.  During a secret meeting Earle and the German Ambassador spoke alone for several hours.

Earle told Dall he believed an anti-Nazi sentiment had indeed sincerely manifested among many Germans.  The hidden designs of the Soviet-led Russian forces was also a concern.  So, Earle “promptly dispatched a coded message to FDR in Washington, via the Diplomatic Pouch, reporting on the whole matter.  He then waited for the requested prompt reply.  None came!”

When German Admiral Canaris phoned and asked Earle if there was any news, Earle advised him that there was none.

More anti-Hitler remarks exposed themselves to Earle, including “remarks made in a private conversation in Istanbul by Baroness von Papen, wife of the German Ambassador.  He then met Baron Kurt von Lersner, who headed the Orient Society, which was a German cultural organization there…the same question was posed to Commander Earle by Baron von Lersner…if the anti-Nazis forces in Germany delivered the German Army to the American forces, could they then count on Allied cooperation in keeping the Soviets out of Central Europe?  Hence, if Roosevelt would merely agree to an ‘honorable surrender,’ von Lersner stated, even if Hitler was not killed by his group, he would be handed over by them to the Americans.  Furthermore, the Soviet Army could be held in check and contained in suitable areas.”

Again, Earle attempted to contact the White House, pleading with Roosevelt to explore the offer.  No reply came back.

A later meeting with von Lersner included an addition to the plan that would entail “surrounding Hitler’s remote Eastern Military Headquarters, then move the German Army to the Eastern Front, until a cease-fire could be arranged.”

Following the meeting Earle once again sent a message to President Roosevelt, but this time as a “most urgent message, not only via the Diplomatic Pouch, but through Army-Navy channels this time to make sure the important message got through to FDR.  He said he felt that FDR and his top advisors were under the spell of Joe Stalin, or that he, Roosevelt, mistakenly felt that he could ‘charm’ Stalin…the White House was certainly no place to try and expose the truth about Soviet Russia!”  Earle stated he was “sure that strong White House ‘influence’ had the president’s ‘ear,’ willing to see all the German people wiped out, regardless of how many American soldiers’ lives would be sacrificed on the battlefield, on the sea, and in the air, to achieve that monstrous objective.”

The Germans had already made plans in Istanbul that once FDR sent a favorable reply they would honorably surrender, and fly Earle to an undisclosed location in Germany.  A plane near Istanbul was waiting.

No reply came from Washington.

“Finally, in effect, a purported answer did come.  It was that he should take up with the Field Commander in Europe and proposals for a negotiated peace.  Could any procedure have been more impractical or tragic?"  Was it a brush-off?

Dall then wrote that he recalled “General Eisenhower’s devious decision for our American forces not to take Berlin, and not to take Prague, whose people were frantically pleading to surrender to the Americans.”  Eisenhower instead chose to “await the arrival of Soviet Forces, and allow them to ‘go first,’ thereby ensnaring for an enemy force a large segment of Western civilization."

I recall Eisenhower later in his life made a statement about the Military Industrial Complex, a warning about how the statist one-world consortium had infiltrated our military; or was it?  Is it possible that Eisenhower alerted us of the Military Industrial Complex hoping we would then demand for its defunding, or even its dismantling, to weaken America's military and better position the Soviet Union to be a greater super-power without the pesky Americans getting in their way?

“The pattern outlined for much of General Eisenhower’s thinking at the time, if one can call it that, is readily discernible.  Small wonder Joe Stalin so lavishly praised him, in due course!  The enhancement of long-range World-Money-Power objectives, however, was not in the minds of countless fine Americans in uniform, who made the supreme sacrifice for their country.  Far from it!”

The blunders were not blunders, according to Dall, but a part of a “long-range” plan, “fairly well-known to General Eisenhower.”  The events Earle related to Dall happened a year before the Normandy Invasion, a horrific spilling of blood that could have been avoided if only Roosevelt was willing to accept the German Army’s offer, and accept that Stalin was not much of an ally and in fact, the Soviet communist machine needed to be stopped in its tracks right there during World War II.

Earle then “returned to the U.S.A., came back home, and World War II proceeded along its scheduled course, until the Soviets sat astride Europe.”  He planned to reveal what he knew, and put out there his “views and observations about our so-called allies, the Soviets, so as to wake up the American people about what was really going on.  I contacted the President about it, but he reacted strongly and specifically forbade me to make my views known to the public.  Then, upon my requesting active duty in the Navy, I was ordered to Samoa, in the far-distant South Pacific.  There, my extensive experience with the double-faced Soviets and our lost opportunity to stop needless carnage, to prevent the great Soviet victory in Europe, would not make any impression on the friendly Samoans.”

Dall, years later, asked Earle if he could relay the tale in his book, and Earle agreed and even gave him the opportunity to read and copy some of the letters between Earle and FDR for context.  “The constructive efforts of many sensible German people were deliberately ignored, thereby enabling the plans of the One-World-Socialists and their Bankers to enthrone the Soviets, at the expense of humanity, especially Western Civilization…Only the Lord knows how many lives could have been saved if FDR had had the desire and the ability to have cabled, ‘George, tell them, yes; send details.  FDR.’”

Eventually, an answer from FDR was received, a “cryptic reply…from the President’s office [that] was cynical, cruel, and evasive.”

While going through letters filed at The Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Earle, it turned out, had sent a “personal gift to President Roosevelt, via his daughter, Anna.”  One letter was from Earle, and the second of the two letters…“signed by her."  She wrote, “George Earle (a man strongly anti-Nazi) had become alerted to the designs of our ‘ally,’ the Soviets.  Therefore, he was regarded as being most dangerous by those favoring the basic World War II policies being put over on the American people by the Council of Foreign Relations’ [CFR] appointees and some of their leaders.”

Few people knew the events even happened, that “in 1943, George Earle, acting upon reliable first-hand assurances in Istanbul, could have taken the first necessary steps for a negotiated peace with Germany if FDR had only given the word ‘proceed,’ and had not remained silent.

Anna, in her letter, also wrote to her father, “As we near the critical stage of the war against Germany” and “perhaps cost us thousands of lives,” but Roosevelt was not even willing to consider the offer by the Germans through a letter from his own daughter, or the first letter from Earle.

One particular letter, of which Dall read on March 24, 1965, from FDR to Commander Earle, “on the same matter, it is clear that whoever prepared that one for FDR’s signature was afraid to even mention the Soviets by name, or even to use the inaccurate term, Russians.  Obviously, that situation must have been viewed as most delicate by the Advisors.  Apparently, they did not wish anyone to even see or read such a letter at that time, lest ‘the cat might escape from the bag!’”

A word in the letter that caught Dall’s attention was “betrayal,” an ugly word to associate with a “distinguished Naval Officer who had risked his life, along with the lives of several others, to forward accurate, vital intelligence information to his Commander-in-Chief – information that a group which was not really our ally, but even then sought to bleed and destroy us, to enthrone their godless cult on all spiritual-minded European nations.”

The letter from FDR to Earle was written three weeks before Roosevelt died.  Earle was still in Samoa, and the “Soviet Army, well supported by our munitions of war, continued to roll westward in Europe.”

Was FDR a political captive?  Was he required to do the bidding of One-World Planners?  Or, was he a willing participant in the grand plan?

Dall provides in his book information about the aftermath of the whole thing, as well.  “Admiral Canaris, as a result of his patriotic and brave humanitarian efforts, was captured and hanged by Hitler, with an iron collar around his neck.  It took thirty minutes for him to die!  Many other high-level, anti-Naxi leaders were hanged or shot.  Their subsequent plan to eliminate Hitler, by exploding the bomb in the map room of his forest headquarters, merely wounded him.  The plan failed, with a loss of life to several thousand German patriots.  The bomb was carried by Colonel Count Claus von Stauffenberg in his brief case.”

Roosevelt’s death took with him any comment as to why he turned down, or evaded, the urgent messages sent to him by his personal attaché, Commander Earle, in 1943, to consider a possible negotiated peace with Germany.

As for the Soviets?  It seems that once the Berlin Wall fell, and the Soviet Union collapsed, their roots in America and Europe grew deeper, and a cultural revolution, like the ones in the Soviet Union and Communist China, has begun.  A new communist revolution exists, now, in the name of progressivism.  They call their enemies colonialists, white supremacists, White Christian Nationalists, homophobes, transphobes, racists, and a whole host of other terms that feed the big lie.  My response is simple.  They are the same, anti-God, anti-Liberty statists we've been fighting from day one.  Be it King George, Hamiltonians, Fabians, Progressives, communists, fascists, or atheistic left-wing cultists, the reality is that the war that began long ago with a serpent in a particular garden still rages on, and still requires patriots to stand against it.  In the end, the aim is the same.  They must be defeated.
