Obama's White House Rejects National Day of Prayer
For the first time in nine years the White House will not observe the National Day of Prayer. Robert Gibbs, the White House Press Secretary, stated that Obama will pray privately as he does every day - but he will issue a White House proclamation.
The National Day of Prayer originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May to observe the day of prayer.
President Bill Clinton also did not observe the National Day of Prayer during his years in the White House.
Not a surprise from a man that announced to the world in Turkey that this is not a Christian nation.
A friend asked me, when he heard that Robert Gibbs had indicated Obama prays everyday, if Obama prays five times a day, facing Mecca.
I responded, "I don't know."
