One of the worst blizzards in the history of Washington DC has left the city covered in feet of snow. The storm broke 140 years worth of records, coming less than two months after another storm dumped over a foot of snow. Washington has gotten more than a foot of snow only 13 times since 1870, two of which have already happened this year.
Due to the heavy snow travel has been near impossible. Most flights out of Washington's Reagan National Airport were canceled or delayed. Delays and cancellations also occurred at the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Dulles International Airport. The roadways remain hazardous, with snow plow drivers working 12-hour shifts Saturday and Sunday, while overanxious residents sometimes hindered their ability to clear secondary roads by digging out their cars and moving them into the path of the plows. Hundreds of thousands of people across the region also lost power during the storm, and utilities companies warned it could be days before electricity is restored to everyone.
The frigid temperatures and heavy snow affected much of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia as well.
Al Gore was unavailable for comment.
With all of the cold weather, it makes one wonder how it could be so cold when the man-made global warming fanatics claim we are getting warmer, and RFK said just last year that we have seen an end to snow in DC.
Politicians and lawyers, step aside. The new professional liars are global warming climate scientists, and their powers of deception beats all of the opposition hands down. Evidence has been mounting against their false science, and then the Climategate e-mails arrived a few months ago, making it even more clear that these scientists of deception distorted research, plotted to destroy data and conspired to prevent publication of dissenting views.
The political agenda of leftism has infiltrated science, leaving the biased climate scientists the opportunity to spread their intellectual dishonesty.
Despite the overpowering evidence that warming and cooling trends are natural occurrences that happen without the aid of human interference, and that the trends are primarily caused by sunspot activity (yes, I know, it's shocking that the sun would have something to do with warming the planet) the UN's IPCC has claimed that man-made warming will cause the Himalayan glaciers to disappear by 2035. Then, upon further study, it turns out that that claim was based solely on a pamphlet published by the World Wildlife Federation, and was based on no science at all. The head of the IPCC was informed that a 1996 report said those glaciers could melt significantly by 2350, not 2035, yet he let the claim stand.
In fact, it turns out that most of the claims by the man-made global warming crowd comes from baseless claims by radical environmentalists and have no scientific basis whatsoever.
"The global warming movement as we have known it is dead," writes Walter Russell Mead of the Council on Foreign Relations in The American Interest. "The movement died from two causes: bad science and bad politics."
As was the "Coming Ice Age" scare of the seventies, this mythical weather hysteria will eventually die out as just another foolish assumption by a bunch of alarmists. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict how many trillions of dollars corporate and media elites will waste on propaganda-pushed junk science based on shoddy and dishonest evidence, and distorted scientific conclusions created in the interest of a man-made global warming movement that resembles religious dogma.
Despite all of the evidence against man-made global warming hysteria, the Obama administration is still going forward with a new Climate Service agency which will operate with NOAA's National Weather Service and National Ocean Service. The administration has also changed NASA's mission from space exploration to studying climate change.
What a waste of our hard-earned tax dollars - especially when you realize that the liberal Democrat's climate change agenda has nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with growing government, and controlling the American People's use of energy, and controlling the production of goods in the United States with government control.
The man-made global warming lie is not only collapsing, but like the rest of Obama's policies, it is poised to break us financially too, despite its untrue nature!
