President Reagan's 100th Birthday to be Commemorated in 2011

PRESIDENT REAGAN’S 100 BIRTHDAY PARTY

President’s Legacy to Be Commemorated In 2011

Centennial birthdays of American Presidents are significant historical occasions. Since 1950, the United States Congress has, on only 10 occasions, established a commission to develop plans to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of an American President or First Lady. In June 2009, President Obama signed into law a proclamation establishing an 11-member bi-partisan Commission to oversee the planning of the Ronald Reagan Centennial throughout 2011.

As President Reagan would have wanted, no taxpayer dollars were appropriated for any of the Reagan Centennial activities. All events and initiatives will be funded by private donations collected through The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.

President Reagan believed America’s best days were always ahead. Over the course of the next two years, a number of signature initiatives will be launched that will endure long after the Centennial year.

Tonight on the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution we have scheduled a member of the Reagan Centennial to discuss the planned festivities.
