Germany's Merkel: Multiculturalism has Failed

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has decided that trying to create a multicultural society in Germany has "utterly failed." What the German's call the "multikulti" concept, where people would "live side-by-side" happily, has not worked.

Merkel's comments come amid recent outpourings of strong anti-immigrant feeling from mainstream politicians.

She said in a recent speech that at "the beginning of the 60s our country called the foreign workers to come to Germany and now they live in our country... We kidded ourselves a while, we said: 'They won't stay, sometime they will be gone', but this isn't reality.

"And of course, the approach [to build] a multicultural [society] and to live side-by-side and to enjoy each other... has failed, utterly failed."

European nations, one by one, are slowly realizing the dangers of leftist policies. It may be a little too late, but it's not for us. . . if only we would be willing to learn from Europe's failures.

Decades of multiculturalism in Europe, masked by the veil of compassion, has encouraged the rate of migration into European nations by foreigners to steadily increase with each passing year. The intake of immigrants has been done without any regard for the cultural incompatibility of many of these people with the host country. To better enable the influx of immigrants, an alarming policy of lax health and character checks have been initiated. Because of these policies, diseases that had been eliminated are on the rise, and crime rates are also on the rise.

Ethnic ghettos where even the police dare not to tread are increasing in number. Muslim communities have been labeled "no-go zones," because of the danger of any non-Muslim entering these neighborhoods. However, the politically correct governments, police forces and compliant journalists hide the reality with appeasement and concessions, and a ton of "fairness."

Multiculturalism claims “unity through diversity,” but instead has spawned ethnic crime, and ethnic gangs, which ultimately divide the population. But, as the problem worsens, the politically correct governments and media have been banning any form of ethnic labeling.

As these countries deteriorate, the minority groups do what they can to pin all the blame of their troubles on whites. After all, in a multicultural society, it turns out that only whites can be racist, or at least that is what the politically correct claim.

As well as fostering ethnic crime, multiculturalism has created the sordid struggle for the ethnic vote, with liberals winning hands down because of their willingness to appease, and bend over backwards, for the immigrant, and minority, groups. As a result, immigrants are literally increasing the size of lower socio-economic suburbs, increasing the numbers of the poverty-stricken, and in turn increasing the number of people reliant on government entitlement programs. These programs are unsustainable, and as Greece has learned, destroys economies.

Fact is, all liberal policies, wherever tried, have always failed. Multiculturalism is just one of the latest in a long string of failed liberal policies that, if not reversed here in America, could lead us down a path to destruction.
