The Memphis School District has decided to begin serving dinner to public school students. The parents can't be trusted, apparently, to feed their own kids, and all of those food stamps to the poor isn't feeding the kids either, so the bureaucrats have taken it upon themselves to feed the kids. Michelle Obama is going around telling us what to eat (Michelle, mind your own damn business), and now the federal government is telling us they're gonna feed our kids for us (and considering what they serve in the cafeteria's, Michelle should really be freaking out).
The federal government keeps telling us that we are fat, lazy and obese, and it is up to them to whip us into shape - whether we like it or not.
Schools already offer breakfast and lunch, so now they figure they might as well phase the parents out completely. Pretty soon the indoctrination centers we call public schools will demand they sleep there, too!
You parents, they seem to be saying, don't know what you are doing, and can't be trusted - government must feed our children. If they don't, you untrustworthy parents will stupidly subject those poor little angels to a lifetime of fats, high cholesterol, hardened arteries, a miserable lifestyle of individualism.
Why, they can't let you think for yourself. . . you might make a decision they believe is not best for the common good.
Think about it. As children we barely survived without the government feeding us, right?
How horrible. I ate a bowl of cereal in the morning, had a sandwich and chips at lunch, and my mom (GASP!!!!) made dinner at night!
The horror of it all!
What's worse, I rode my bike without a helmet, the medicines in the house were within my reach, and I got in fights with bullies every once in a while.
What a surprise I survived!
The thing is, they are lying to us when they say they want to feed the kids dinner because the poor little darlings would go hungry otherwise. The truth is two-fold. First, it is a way to gain just a little more control over your children. Second, this move is good for the union, which in turn is good for the democrats. The union runs the kitchens so providing dinner at the schools gives the SEIU more employees and more wages, and therefore more union dues, which ends up in the pockets of the democrats. Then, in return, the liberals pass legislation that helps the unions.
"But we have to save the children!" the liberal will say.
No, it is not the role of the federal government to save the children. Besides, if it is such a big problem, then where in the hell are the parents?
Forget saving the children. The liberals behind this could care less about the stomachs of the children. They see this as yet another opportunity to suck up more tax dollars. More government jobs, more cafeteria workers, and more union dues.
