Three Secret Service agents are gone as a result of the alleged misconduct with prostitutes in Columbia. One of the fired members has threatened to sue. The remaining eight are on administrative leave during the investigation, and they have had their top-secret scrutiny clearances suspended.
The Obama administration is calling this an embarrassment. Bill Clinton is surely thinking, "Wish I could have gotten in on that."
I am wondering if this had happened during Clinton's presidency they would have been fired and investigated. I am figuring they would have gotten medals.
All kidding aside, though, the Democrats are taking this very seriously, and in fact Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.), chairman of the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on homeland security, called the men’s alleged misbehavior a “gross violation of public trust.”
This is not exactly the negative publicity the Obama administration was hoping to attract during a campaign season, either.
