Sometimes, I get ideas for articles, and jot some quick notes down because I am not in a position to write out the articles, but I don't want to forget the idea. Then, the notes, when I get home, get placed on a stack on the left side of my desk. Sometimes I use those notes, and sometimes some of them remain on that stack, until much later, possibly years later, I find those notes again.
The following was inspired by one of those old notes.
The Great Miracle of the Union of States
John Adams called it the impossible task of getting 13 clocks to chime at the same time. One of the greatest miracles of history is that the United States remained united. The union was the whole point of the Constitution.
This administration is attaching the union with lawsuits, one of which is the one against Arizona for trying to enforce immigration laws. The federal government dropped the ball, when they filed that lawsuit, because Article IV, Section 4 requires the U.S. Government protect States from invasion, rather than sue a State for trying to play a part in that protection. They, then, also went in complete opposition of the Constitution when they case was filed in an inferior court, because Article III, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution says if a State is a party in a case, the Supreme Court of the United States has "original jurisdiction."
The federal government is also attacking the sovereignty of Montana, where the gun legislation is attempting to bring the Commerce Clause back into its proper context. The federal government is not supposed to control and dictate regarding commerce between the States, but to act as a mediator whenever problems arise that may inhibit the flow of commerce between the States, such as a dispute between two States regarding acceptability of certain parameters being applied regarding the action.
The attack is against "We the People," calling us "gun clingers," and "bible thumpers," as if that is a bad thing. They do this because they don't understand the Constitution, and they stand for collectivism and bigger government, which are both incompatible with the Constitution. They don't understand that rights and liberty are unalienable, given to us by our Creator, and it is those believes that make our society so successful, and so centered around individualism.
Even Ben Franklin, some would say the least religious of the Founding Fathers, understood the importance of God to this nation. Remember, the States, early on, did not get along, and their "individualism" as States made it difficult for the union to come together. Benjamin Franklin, who referred to our nation, in reference to an portrayal on the back of a chair, saw America as a rising sun, and the union, in his opinion, did not succeed as a union because the States figured out a way to get along, but because of Divine Providence.
Benjamin Franklin said, "I have so much faith in the general government of the world by Providence, that I can hardly conceive a transaction (the framing of the Constitution) of such momentous importance to the welfare of millions. . . should be suffered (allowed) to pass without being in some degree influenced, guided, and governed by that omnipotent. . . and beneficent Ruler in whom all inferior spirits live, and move, and have their being."
