Very Harry Hypocrisy

by JASmius

Senator Harry (G)Reid (D-NV) backing anti-Koch Constitutional Amendment.

Well, at least nobody can call Dirty Harry "devious," as his more-obvious-than-a-hairlip Koch obsession has gotten downright embarrassing, especially given the George Soroses and Tom "King Coal" Steyerses that litter his side of the aisle, but which are UTTERLY, TOTALLY, and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, and if you don't believe it, just ask him.

It has struck me as more than a little surprising, given Barack Obama's free-wheeling propensity for unconstitutional Executive decrees, that Senate Democrats are actually trying to functionally repeal the First Amendment via the Article V process.  Since The One's "pen and phone" can get them what they want in short order - not legally, but in power terms - why bother using constitutional means that have no hope of success?  To that, I have no answer, beyond perhaps the growing string of SCOTUS defeats they've suffered lately.  But it is pretty clear that the simple act of doing so is meant to try and rally the disconsolate Donk base in advance of the November midterm election.  Can't have Dems staying home on Election Day when public anger over ObamaCare, the permanent Obamanomic depression, and Red Barry's absence from the top of the ballot are going to be obstacles enough to holding onto the Senate by the barest of fraying threads, after all.
