"Everyone On" Commercial Laugher

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In Southern California there is a commercial that plays on television about how to get free classes to learn the Internet.  The featured individual, we are told, has never been on the Internet before, and her goal is to use a live chat at the class she has taken to chat with family she has not seen in years.  The advertisement is slightly comical, watching the woman struggle with the computer.  However, the funniest part about the commercial is at the end.  Remember, this is a commercial to convince people who have never used the internet before to take classes offered for free.  To learn more about it, a website is offered.  Granted, in smaller print a phone number is also offered, but why do they offer a website (in large print) if it is for people who have never used the Internet before?

I couldn't find the video Online.  Perhaps the people who teach people how to get online could not figure out how to put the video online.

The website, for those that are curious, is www.everyoneon.org.
