Does anybody really care all that much about this?:
Democratic National Committee Chair[dyke] Debbie Wasserman Schultz is losing support from the White House, congressional Democrats, and party operatives after her controversial comments recently comparing tea party advocates to domestic abusers and her criticisms of the White House's handling of the border crisis.
....but pretty much 100% her criticisms of the White House's handling of the Border Crisis. For, I'm guessing, not sending whatever's left of our C-5s and C-130 transport fleet south to depopulate Latin America completely and bring 'em all up here and be done with it in one fell swoop. You can't tell me any Democrat had any problem with DWS's smear of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
According to Politico, insiders believe the Florida congresswoman is more focused on her own political ambitions than boosting the party's fortunes.
For example, she has used meetings with Democratic donors to ask for contributions for her own PAC and campaign, has used Democratic National Committee aides to pursue her personal political agenda, and has tried to get the DNC to pay for her wardrobe.
"I guess the best way to describe it is, it's not that she's losing a duel anywhere, it's that she seems to keep shooting herself in the foot before she even gets the gun out of the holster," John Morgan, a major Florida donor, told Politico.
I guess she's bought into the fiction that O is a "lame duck," and has reached the "going into business for herself" stage of her DNC tenure. Which is precisely what any of the "insiders" criticizing her freelancing would be doing in her position, so I'm puzzled as to why they have a problem with it, other than perhaps that they're currying favor with their demigod.
She has been mostly out of touch with the president for close to three years, without regular meetings or conversations, and the president does not include her in strategy talks.
Did he ever? But what does it matter? Traditionally, the Party national committees have been nothing but shells anyway; the real power in the Democrat Party has always been the White House and OFA, and so it shall remain. Remember also that The One has kept DWS in place as DNC head for the entirety of his rule, so whatever purpose he had for that appointment hasn't changed. Maybe it really is the poodle jokes.
But if he's looking for a change of pace, he can always bring back Howard Dean, I suppose.
It would be fitting, somehow. Besides, Howie's got better legs.
