Alexander Hamilton was a statist, so it is sort of surprising to me that of all of the folks on money, he is the first that has been targeted to be replaced. However, word is out that the Ten Dollar Bill is about to change, and it will be a female face.
I just hope it isn't Caitlyn. . .
Now that is enough to make anyone puke. Of course, I am sure the list of candidates may be a number of progressives, instead of Cait... I mean, Bruce, who is, believe it or not, a registered Republican.
You never know. The face on the Ten in the future may wind up being Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, or Oprah Winfrey.
Susan B. Anthony got to be on a now no longer issued dollar coin. Perhaps she's in consideration. That's someone I could see on the $10 bill that would be much better than Hamilton. She was a brave abolitionist, and defender of women's rights.
Well, it should either be her, or Elizabeth Powel.
What, you've never heard of Elizabeth Powel? She's the woman in the bonnet that Ben Franklin talked to after he exited the Constitutional Convention.
"Sir," asked Elizabeth, "What have you given us? A monarchy, or a republic?"
"A republic, madam," responded Franklin. "If you can keep it."
Powel's question was answered with a personalized response. But how could a woman during that era be an important part in keeping the republic?
Elizabeth Powel was the wife of Samuel Powel, and the pair owned an inn where notable travelers often stayed when they were in Philadelphia. The couple offered opulent dinners to attract the wealthier travelers, and they did indeed attract quite a list of names that you would recognize, even to this day. After the dinner, the visitors would retreat to the parlor to discuss politics, and unlike most women of her day, Elizabeth Powel would follow the men into that room, and debate politics with them. She possessed razor sharp wit, and a strong character that enabled her to stand her ground, and often convince those men of her point of view. As the years passed, Powel became friends with George Washington, and she became an influential adviser in his day to day political life. It was she that convinced him to coin the title, "Mr. President," rather than take on a more powerful sounding title. It was also Elizabeth Powel that was a powerful voice that convinced Washington to run for reelection, and serve a second term.
Yeah, I think if they were to eliminate Alexander Hamilton from the $10 bill, the replacement, if they are determined to make the face one that belongs to a lady, it should be the face of Elizabeth Powel.

IMHO Only one Woman is qualified to be on the TEN DOLLAR BILL if HAMLITON is to be removed and that Woman is CLARA BARTON, CLARA WAS ON THE BATTLE FIELD CARING FOR THE INJURED IN THE MIST OF THE BATTLE PUTTING HER SELF IN HARMS WAY AND WHEN A SOLDIER FELL DEAD CLARA BARTON FIRED THE CANNON HER SELF
