Proving, I suppose, that U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning is a Republican (Bush43) appointee, because if the judge in this case had been a Democrat, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis would already be in the slammer getting gang-raped into lesbianhood every night:
A federal judge in Kentucky on Monday said he would give a county clerk time to appeal before her office needs to start issuing marriage licenses to [homosexual] couples, an act she has said would violate her religious beliefs.
U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning in his ruling said he was temporarily staying his order for the office of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis to resume issuing marriage licenses while the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati weighs her appeal.
"In recognition of the constitutional issues involved, and realizing that emotions are running high on both sides of the debate, the court finds it appropriate to temporarily stay this order pending review" of the appellate court, Bunning said in his ruling.
In other words, Judge Bunning punted. He knows the emotions are not going to calm down on either side, just as he ought to know that there's no way that Miss Davis will ever issue "marriage" licenses to homosexuals. And while the Sixth Circuit has a 16-9 Republican (-appointed) majority, he also knows that the malignantly pervasive "judicial review" mentality makes any appeal a fait accompli whose further appeal would be pointless by Obergefell v. Hodges. Which kind of begs the question about why Miss Davis bothered suing for legal relief when the courts had already preemptively betrayed her. A question that evidently isn't being asked in Colorado, Florida, Mississippi and South Carolina, where similar suits are also futiley underway.
It will all come back to where it started: Kim Davis will be forced to renounce Christ and proclaim Sodom as Lord, or she will be professionally destroyed - for starters. And she will choose the latter. An illustration of what's coming for all Christians in this bleak, pagan, persecutory world that Justice Kennedy has created.
The true LORD can't come back fast enough.
