Among [Muslim]s making online threats to the West is British explosives expert Hamayun Tariq, who fled his home in Dudley, West Midlands, for the Middle East in 2012.
Using the Muslim name, Muslim-al-Britani, he posted on Twitter: ‘O by the way Islamic State does have a dirty bomb. We found some radioactive material from Mosul university,’ the Mirror reports.
He continued: ‘We’ll find out what dirty bombs are and what they do. We’ll also discuss what might happen if one actually went off in a public area.
‘This sort of a bomb would be terribly destructive if went off in LONDON becuz (sic) it would be more of a disruptive than a destructive weapon,’ before having his Twitter account suspended.
It is most likely not an idle boast. Iraq's U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim has already warned the U.N. of precisely this possibility, and ISIS did, after all, conquer Mosul six months ago, so they've had ample time to gather such nuclear materials for obligatorily nefarious purposes. It's also likely that since ISIS members are publicizing their nuclear acquisitions, they've already got a radiological weapon in place somewhere in a targeted Western city - perhaps more than one - and are only waiting for the opportune time to set it (or them) off.

Betcha you forgot about that little story, dincha? After the events of forty-eight hours ago in Brussels, combined with this report, I'd wager that will never happen again:
The brothers behind this week’s Brussels bombings also spied on a top nuclear researcher and hoped to build a so-called “dirty bomb,” an expert involved in a probe into ISIS threats told NBC News on Thursday.
Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui were responsible for planting a hidden camera outside the Belgian researcher’s house, according to Claude Moniquet, a French former intelligence official who was hired to investigate potential plots targeting Europe’s nuclear sector.
This camera produced more than ten hours of film showing the comings and goings of [the] senior researcher at a Belgian nuclear center and his family — footage that was seized during a Belgian raid in November, officials announced last month.
The idea for the El-Bakraoui brothers was to try and kidnap the nuclear scientist's family so as to blackmail him into giving them nuclear materials with which to construct a "dirty" bomb. Which, as we saw on Tuesday, and given the ease with which those twin bombings were carried out, could easily have been both eminently plausible and vastly more deadly than they were already. This helps explain why the nearby Tihange nuclear power plant was evacuated and its staff replaced with security personnel.
What it does not explain is why the Belgians left the El-Bakraoui brothers free and unfettered to plan and carry out their attacks, given what was already known about them:
Carjackings, robberies and shoot-outs with police were just some of the convictions collected by the Belgian brothers who took part in the metro and airport assaults in Brussels claimed by the Islamic State....
Baby-faced Ibrahim, twenty-nine, who blew himself up at the airport on Tuesday along with Laachraoui, had been given a nine-year sentence in 2010 after a gunfight with police, according to local media....
His younger brother Khalid, twenty-seven, who blew himself at the Maalbeek metro station just a short walk from the main EU institutions, was a convicted carjacker, receiving a five-year sentence 2011, according to La Derniere Heure. [emphasis added]
Maybe Khalid had done that full time, but Ibrahim hadn't. On top of that, the Turks, no less, evidently were warning the Belgians all last year of the El-Bakraoui's ample and extensive jihadist connections, and yet the latter couldn't be bothered to take them into pre-emptive custody. And now three dozen or so civilians are dead, and the death toll could well have been ten or a hundred or a thousand times worse. As it may well be next time, on which we can confidently count.
And remember one other thing: Khalid and Ibrahim El-Bakraoui are/were native-born Belgians, turned into mass-murdering enemies by the "religion of peace". Until the West starts recognizing this fact and taking appropriate countermeasures, we will continue to die, whether piecemeal, or all at once.
UPDATE: Obamagon orders to U.S. troops in Europe when confronted by ISIS attack: "Run and hide":
American troops in Europe are now banned from travel to Brussels, and are getting advice on what to do if caught up in a terror attack that comes down to: "Run, hide and then fight if necessary," Military.com reports....
"In the event of an active shooter, the [Commissariat of Defense] stresses to run, hide and then fight if necessary," he said, Military.com reports. "Perhaps most important — if host nation or U.S. security is responding, be very cooperative with the law enforcement and careful you do not make yourself a suspect." [emphases added]
Because....why? Europe is a "gun-free zone" for U.S. personnel?
