How Health Care, Immigration and Liberalism all connect

For those of you that have been following my blog, you are aware that my son has been recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and is due for surgery soon. For those of you that desire joining a blogroll designed for bloggers who wish to be active in the fight against cancer (and the prayer for those afflicted), go to http://anarmyofbloggers.blogspot.com and join GM Roper and myself in the fight.

My son is in an interesting situation, however. At 22 years of age he just began a new job and was still on probation when the cancer became too much to bare. Unfortunately, the pain stopped him from being on the job long enough to qualify for insurance. So, out of necessity, he is using the county hospital. In short, taxpayer funds will be instrumental in paying for his care.

It is situations such as this that governmental assistance was designed. It was for those that are hard working individuals that believe in self-reliance, but found themselves in the unexpected position of being without a job, or insurance, or whatever, that programs like medi-cal and such was created.

However, thanks to abuse of the system by some, and the overuse of the system by illegal aliens, the system has been bastardized into a bureaucracy that is out of control. And, because of the abuse of the system, someone like my son must wait a week and a half before he can have his surgery (despite the fact that time is of the essence).

The care is substandard, the timetable is frightening, and the facilities are not nearly as good as those at a private hospital. For those of you that support Universal Health Care, what my son is going through is nothing. With Universal Health Care the problem would be industry-wide and the wait would be longer as the quality of care drops.

Am I complaining? Not really. I am just happy he is able to get the care he needs, even if it isn't as I had hoped. It is an imperfect world.

But liberals are not happy with the problem as it is. Nor is Bush, for that matter. The politicians have come up with an amnesty bill that will create a larger problem in the government hospitals such as the one my son is forced to utilize.

The good news is the latest immigration bill is supported by fewer than 20 Senators, and it is receiving criticism from both sides of the aisle. And the bill is simply a cheap way out of not enforcing the law. How about the legislators admit they screwed up, quit trying to pass some idiotic bill like this that is designed really to gain the Hispanic vote, and enforce the law that is currently on the books by lining up bus by bus and driving these criminals (illegal aliens) out of the country?

Homeland Security is dependant on our nation having an enforced border. The proposed bill is a threat to our national security, our economic security, and is far from being an answer to our growing illegal alien invasion problem. Reagan granted amnesty (the only thing I ever disagreed with him on) and guess what? Twelve million new illegals replaced those that were granted amnesty. Do it again and what do you think will happen? 30 million will cross the border waiting for the next amnesty gift. Perhaps even more than that.

These people put a strain on our medical programs that are there for American Citizens such as my son, as well as the Social Security program. They didn't come here to seek the American Dream as did my ancestors or yours. They crossed the border because they believe that the American Government will take care of them, and cater to them, and hand out whatever they desire. And they believe that they deserve all of these handouts by breaking the law!

You want immigration reform? Here's mine. Severely penalize businesses that hire illegals. Do not grant any handouts to illegals. If an illegal shows up at a hospital, treat them, and then call the Feds to have them deported. If they show up again later, don't even treat them, call the Feds. And for God's sake, make the official language of this country English! When they went to give my son a brochure for his benefits, the woman couldn't find one in English, all of the brochures were in Spanish, and she quipped, "Gosh, I'm not used to needing the ones that are in English."

And why is our programs set up for folks that find themselves in a pickle being overrun by abuse? And why is it that illegals seem to have more rights than those that chose to immigrate the legal way?

Long ago the Republicans were considered to be the elitists, and the Democrats were supposed to be for the working man. Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal reassured Americans that the government would help out if anyone found themselves in a pickle (Introduction to Marxism 101). FDR did warn, however, that the programs were for assistance, not to be used as a way of life. Republicans were White Collar, Democrats were Blue Collar, and the two parties worked together to keep this country running during the darkest days of the Great Depression, World War II, and Korea.

Then Conservatives reminded the American People of the states rights, and how local government should take care of local problems. Meanwhile, the Democrats became elitists, changing their fundamental ways from helping the working man to controlling the citizens. During the Vietnam war the educated liberals emerged, choking out the blue collar Democrats and adopting a platform that catered to gay rights, abortion, and hard-edged feminism. Liberals took a hard left turn, and many of your FDR Democrats didn't even notice. No they demonize our own military (as they did in Vietnam), and have decided that America is corrupt and must be changed by way of a socialistic face lift if we are to move forward.

It's one thing to be against certain platforms, and against the war, but how can they even justify being against their own country?

I am all for equality and fairness, and I don't appreciate war (though I recognize the necessity to defend ourselves against any more attacks - sort of like fighting cancer. You don't wait until it takes the body over, you attack it aggressively, making sure it doesn't spread everywhere) - but this shrill, angry intolerance is not how you achieve such things. And besides, fact is, we are not all equal, and life isn't fair. You make your own opportunities, and the harder you work the luckier you get.

For the liberals everything is about liberalism. Their agenda is all about the next election. They no longer care for the working man, American Pride, defending this nation, or folks like my son scared out of his mind because he has cancer. He would only receive their immediate attention if he was all Mexican (rather than half), came over illegally, and was bad-mouthed by a white person. Then, the ACLU and the Democrats would care greatly for him (especially if they could bash Christianity while they were at it).

Today is Sunday, so it's time for a little Sunday School.

Anderson Cooper of CNN has a series going on called "What is a Christian?" Fascinating subject matter, whether you are a believer or not.

Immediately, however, it was apparent that those producing and writing the segment did not understand what they were talking about (and the secular progressives accuse us of not having the facts straight). The show quoted Jerry Falwell as saying that Global Warming, for example, was redirecting the church's primary focus. Then Anderson Cooper inserted his own opinion, saying "redirecting the primary focus from gays and abortion."

To a Christian the primary focus is not those things. The primary focus to a Christian is God, and spreading His good news.

Okay, folks, I make it no secret that I am a Christian. I also make it no secret that I respect folks regardless of what they believe. However, I don't appreciate what I believe being misrepresented, or oppressed while the enemy's ideology is given the key to the nation.

In fact, the ideology of multiculturalism dictates that Christians must be silenced because they are "narrowly-focused" and that Islam must not be made to assimilate into our culture, but rather be allowed to cling proudly to their Islamic beliefs and traditions. The multiculturalist liberal believes we should embrace the enemy's belief system and respect their ways - not realizing that whatever we do in regards to the war on Islam there will continue to be more jihads. That is their belief system (note that Christianity's message is of love - that is "love" liberals, not stupidy. If a sword is at my throat, I will defend myself).

Anderson Cooper's show gets even more interesting as it progresses. He defends the removal of God from the classroom (using the misunderstanding of the Constitution's so-called seperation of church and state, which, of course, is not constitutional in the first place if you study it) and instead throwing Christianity out of the classroom and replacing it with a different religion - the religion of secular progressivism.

Or at this rate, the church and state fusion of Islam may replace all of this. After all, Muslims believe they can legitimately wage war against anyone who resists the proclamation of Islam. They believe that they have been commanded to fight against people, forcing their faith upon others with a sword, rather than through the love of the unsaved soul as with Christianity.

In the final segment of the show the science portion of it focuses on our genetic makeup as humans and begins proclaiming that the tendency to have faith is based on one's DNA, treating faith as if it is a disease, or something.

Well, gosh, if that was the case, the entire DNA of every Muslim is hardwired to be a violent fundamental murderer, or to support such actions (you know damn-well they were all dancing in the streets on 9/11 - I saw the video.)

Well, read the transcript of the show yourself and come to your own conclusions. The link is at the beginning of this post. All I know is, regardless of whether you are a believer in God, or a non-believing person, you have to admit that our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian values (liberals will tell you it was based on secularism, and then will use Turkey's drive to be secular as an example - and more Christians have been murdered under secular regimes in Turkey than under Islamic regimes, surprisingly; source: Islam Unveiled by Robert Spencer). Without values and consideration for each other, we become nothing more than a pack of animals chasing after our own demoralizations.

My guest next Saturday was a United States Marine, and now is a school teacher and fellow blogger. He is highly involved in the school system, and recognizes the agenda that is being pumped into our children. The public school system is being used by the secular progressives to indoctrinate our children, using their liberal belief system, sprinkled with a little bit of the environmentalist and homosexual agenda while they're at it. And then, because they fear losing control of our children, have done all they can to stop a voucher system that would force the schools to compete with private schools, and allow folks who couldn't afford it before to pull their kids out of the crumbling public school system and place them into private schools.

The secular progressive refuse to allow the teaching of God as being a possibility because they believe that He is factually incorrect and that science has proven the Bible to be false.

Nothing has been disproven.

Actually, the opposite is true. Everytime they try to prove biblical text wrong, science accidentally proves it as being a possibility. For example, proof of the wandering of the Jews under the guidance of Moses in the desert for 40 years has been proven by infrared scanning of the Saudi Desert by satellites, which exposed evidence of wanderings through the desert from Egypt, calculated to be, at the pace of human walking (and taking into account time needed for sleep and meals) to be about 40 years of wandering, as dictated by biblical text. And scientists, silenced when they come to such conclusions, are admitting that the Bible is an accurate historical record - and if that is accurate - well, you can come to your own conclusions on that. However, there is an amazing censorship of any scientist that questions any anti-Christian agenda, or Darwinism, or human-caused global warming.

Why is that?

One such scientist, Dr. Frances Collins (spoken of in the transcript) is the Director of the Human Genome Project, and former non-believer in God; but after mapping out the tens of thousands of genes that make up the blueprint of humanity he decided that the complexity of it all was not a triumph of science, but a triumph of faith. He considered it a glimpse into God's mind.

In the end, the decision to believe is between you and God, and such a belief system cannot be, and shouldn't be, forced upon you. As a Christian I can provide what I believe to be adequate information to assist you in your considerations, but it is your decision whether or not to come to faith. I hate no one, and I love all that I encounter, regardless of faith, and I won't threaten to chop your head off if you reject Christ. Those that support Allah beg to differ.

You are entitled to believe what you may. But wouldn't it be prudent to consider the possibility that there may possibly be a living, loving God?

Paul Couterier was the guest tonight on Political Pistachio Radio. He gave us great insight of how the war is viewed from a soldier's perspective. Now, in the form of the written word, he has a few more things to say. The following is an e-mail he sent myself and Kit Jarrell to be posted on our blogs. I am more than happy to oblige.

I’m currently in the Chicago area on business for a few weeks, so on May 19th, Armed Forces Day, I decided to go down to the Navy Pier in Chicago to check out some USO-sponsored events. I’m a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, so I’m familiar with the USO and all the good things they do to support the troops. Upon leaving the Navy Pier I saw a most unpleasant and ugly sight; a mob scene of gutless anti-military extremists seeking to abuse passersby with their hate-filled signs that seek to demoralize my brothers and sisters currently overseas fighting the war on terrorism. As sick to my stomach as I was, I decided to take them on. I wear an “Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran” hat, so I just stood in front of one of their hate-filled signs being held by two of those dirtbags. They spoke first, with one of them asking if I agreed with them; of course I said “NO”. Then I asked one of them if he had ever been to Iraq; the obvious answer was “no”. I them proceeded to tell them that their hate-filled signs and displays are getting my brothers and sisters assassinated by gutless ragheaded terrorists. At that point, one of them decided to change the subject by asking me what do call blacks. (Black, of course) What do I call Jews? (Jews, of course) This idiot obviously didn’t want to deal with the fact that his gutless hate-filled speech gives aid and comfort to his ragheaded terrorists buddies. He was offended by that fact that I described them perfectly; they’re gutless, they wear rags on their heads and faces to hide their identity (especially when they make videotapes of executions of innocent Americans like Nick Berg), and they’re terrorists; there you go, gutless ragheaded terrorists! (What else would I call them?)

While I was there putting those gutless anti-military extremists in their places, two other guys came along to defend me and help me take on these aging hippies, first shaking my hand and thanking me for my service. Also, a woman approached me to thank me for my service and tell me she has two sons in the Marines; these gutless anti-military extremists angered her as well. A few of these dirtbags wore veteran-related hats like my Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran hat. Their hats looked awfully clean, like that had been purchased recently on ebay and just taken out of the box that morning just for this occasion, and worn for the very first time! One guy claimed to be in WWII and claimed to be in the 1st Division. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a liar! If he really DID serve, then he’d be supporting my brothers and sisters overseas, AND THEIR MISSION! One of their signs had that famous ridiculously high number of dead Iraqi civilians that small-brained rosie spouted recently on the “view”. These people obviously have been brainwashed with the usual anti-military doctrine. And these poor excuses for human beings were VERY intolerant, one of them even called me a punk! For the record, I’m in my 40’s, clean-cut type of guy with a developing gut; I hardly look like a punk! One ugly old broad went into a trance and repeated “warmonger, warmonger” over and over again when I asked her a question that she just didn’t want to deal with. I wanted so much to slap that broad all the way across Lake Michigan!

Also while I was taking them on, I happened to notice out of the corner of my eye a young woman holding a microphone and aiming it in out direction. I asked her if she was from the local media; she said they (her and her cameraman partner) were journalism students! What a deal; these extremists are now on some journalism student’s videotape captured forever making fools of themselves! The journalism students didn’t stay too much longer.

I walked down a few more feet where two more imposters wearing veteran hats and holding another sign with anti-military crap on it. I started to engage them, and one of these dopes asked me “would you ever follow a coward into war?”. I replied “I would NEVER follow Bill Clinton”. He repeated the question again, and I replied again, “I would NEVER follow Bill Clinton”. Then this idiot went into some drug-induced diatribe about President Bush never serving (for the record, he served in the Air National Guard back in the 60’s and 70’s as a pilot), and about the so-called “illegal” war and how Iraq never attacked us. So I said to him “Bill Clinton sent troops to Bosnia for no reason; did Bosnia ever attack us?”. After about two seconds, he replied “no”. I then said “Thank you very much” and left! Needless to say, this mob scene of anti-military extremists were BEYOND over the edge! Fortunately for them, nearby was a group of five Chicago police officers who found these leftover hippies from the 60’s just as amusing and entertaining as I did! These officers were watching them VERY carefully to make sure they didn’t turn physically violent! I only wish emotional violence by anti-military extremists was against the law too.

How I wish there had been some Eagles from the Gathering of Eagles there! These anti-military extremists felt emboldened only because there was a gaggle of them together in one place. If any of those cowards had ever encountered me individually somewhere else, they would have turned and walked the other way! I can only imagine what their plans might be for Memorial Day, next weekend. :o(

Anyway, over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about starting my own radio blog; the anti-military extremists I ran into today convinced me to finally do it! I’m in a position where I can speak for the troops, and I intend to use it to speak for the troops as well as discuss other issues. All I need now is a name, and I’m stuck between a few of them. They are;

1. Operation Independence

2. Independent Talk Radio

3. Independent Opinion Radio

Anyone have any other suggestions?

The independence I refer to is political and moral independence primarily (no affiliations with any political party here!) so that’s what I want to emphasize regarding my radio blog. I promise to tell it like it is, with no political correctness from either side! And for me as a Soldier, I need to be politically independent. I took an oath to obey the lawful orders of the President of the United States regardless of what political party he belongs to, even if he’s a draft-dodging, pot-smoking womanizer like the last occupant of the White House was!

I’m looking to do my first show the evening of Memorial Day. I’ll ask callers to tell me what Memorial Day events they went to locally (parades, memorial services, a wreath laying, etc). I’ll be marching in my town’s Memorial Day parade myself. Those of you going to Washington DC for Rolling Thunder or going to West Point with the Gathering of Eagles to take on the anti-military extremists there, I would love to hear from you too, and your thoughts on those events.

Are You Ready For The Truth?

So there I am, in my office trying to explain something to somebody, and I am contacted by a Soldier that is Politically Incorrect, and proud of it!

Paul Couturier received the call to go to Iraq in 2003 to be a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am sure he didn't know what truly to expect. Or perhaps he did. After all, Paul had already been in the Army National Guard for over 20 years at that point.

In my past correspondence with him it became immediately clear that Paul has a lot to say. He lives in Massachusetts, so you can just imagine what he thinks of his two senators (more or less his words - BTW, those Senators are: John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy), and one of his biggest gripes is about the anti-military extremists in general, especially (his words again) "those hypocrites who say they support the troops, but not their mission!"

Well, tonight on Political Pistachio Radio, Paul will be able to say what he desires about the war, and about the libtards that seek to undermine the effort. Cancer Sucks & Border Patrol Agent's family responds & My Point Radio Tonight!

GMRoper knows about cancer. He was diagnosed with lung cancer, and so far it looks like he's beaten it. Now cancer has decided to visit my home. My son has been diagnosed with testicular cancer (the young man's cancer) at the age of 22. Right now he is in considerable pain and we are doing all we can to get him into surgery as soon as possible. As with any form of cancer, there is a fear of the disease spreading to other parts of his body, in this case, through his lymphatic system. At GMRoper's An Army of Bloggers site, the goal is to unite bloggers in this worldwide battle against cancer. Your prayer is greatly appreciated, and you can just ask Mr. Roper, the power of prayer is amazing. He is proof.

At one of the sites I contribute to, American Pundit, I posted the story regarding the Border Patrol Agent, Richard Goldstein, that was killed recently near the Salton Sea. The response at that site has been unreal. One response was by the brother of the agent, Howard Goldstein. The following is the e-mail we received from him regarding this story:

"My brother Richard is the border patrol agent who died on Friday. Richard was a great young man who loved his job, his family and his dog Carlo, his partner. He was liked and respected by his fellow agents and loved by his friends and family and will be deeply missed. We all believe what happened to him was an accident and we only hope his death was quick and that he did not suffer. He was instrumental in capturing drug runners and other criminals. He served his country with honor and should be remembered as a hero. Services for him will be held on Thursday in Calif and hopefully on Sunday in Buffalo, NY where he was from. Your prayers are very much appreciated. Thank you."

The Laws of Human Nature

The law, or rule, of right and wrong used to be called the Law of Nature, and it is really meant to be the Law of Human Nature. The idea of this is that humanity has an inherent idea of what is right and wrong. Unlike the laws of gravity or chemistry, a person can choose to obey or disobey a Law of Human Nature.

To put it in a simpler way, the human idea of decent behavior is obvious to everyone (or should be naturally). Some may say that the definition of decent behavior being known by all is illogical because different civilizations and different eras have contained different moralities.

Actually, that is a false statement. There may be small differences, but nothing that has amounted to much, until now.

The moral teachings of the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, Babylonians, Hindus, Romans, Greeks, and even Europe and America of the last couple centuries (before each of those societies demoralized and fell), taught similar moralities regarding how to treat your fellow man. Even as these civilizations were being plagued by rampant immoralities and were in the process of crumbling, none of these cultures could ever imagine a society where people were admired for abandoning the battlefield, or where a group of people felt proud for doublecrossing the very people responsible for defending their way of life.

C.S. Lewis in his book "Mere Christianity" states that a country like that might as well believe that two plus two is five.

It bothers me that now, whether it be Judeo-Christian values, or the values we hold by instinct, that we have departed from what is right and just. We are allowing those searching for the ideal utopia of peace and safety and equal fairness and multi-culturalism and so forth (which, because of the human desire to be self-sufficient, self-reliant, and to compete, is impossible) would have to be put in place by coercion and in an authoritarian way.

We are all created equal in the sense of our opportunities, but we are not equal in the way that we choose to pursue our happiness and success, or in our desire to work for such goals.

Believe me, however, that if for some reason the liberal left socialists somehow achieved such a society of socialistic teachings, the will of the people would seek out revolution to bring about freedom and democracy again, because the desire to be free is another Law of Human Nature, and it is the strongest of all of them.

Isaiah 5:20 - Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Congratulations, Osama bin Laden, and the upcoming PPR schedule!

Last night during the Republican Debate in South Carolina on Fox News Channel something became clear to me. The liberals have succeeded in dividing conservatives, and Islam has succeeded in dividing America.

I saw a political cartoon in Monday's paper that showed Osama bin Laden (or is it Usama bin Laden? I never know anymore) sitting in a cave with an Islamic cleric sitting beside him. The cleric says, "The Democrats say the war is lost. . . they want to withdraw their troops now. . . they've lost their will to fight. . . their country is hopelessly divided!" In the next panel the cleric says, "Congratulations," as a banner reading MISSION ACCOMPLISHED unveils above them.

It seems the only people in the political realm remaining steadfast is the Bush Administration. Sure, they have fallen short because in this war what should have happened was many more troops, much more equipment, aerial bombardments, full use of our technology, and a show of military might that should have ended the conflict in a few months, rather than this slow police action that is creating nothing more than the division we see in America Osama (Usama) desired when he orchestrated 9/11. It is simple. They wish to convert us, or kill us. We wish not to be converted or killed. Answer: we go at them at full strength with all of our fire power, we profile them in this country and we quit allowing the idiocy flowing from the politically correct, anti-war loon's mouths from convincing us to do any different.

During the debate I got a chuckle when Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee slipped in a criticism of the anti-American, treasonous, cowardly congressional members at the debate, saying Congress has "spent money like John Edwards at a beauty shop." This, of course, was a slap at Edwards who caught everyone's attention for spending $400 of campaign money on a haircut.

California Rep. Duncan Hunter, the candidate I believe this nation needs (but will probably have to settle for honorable mention when it is all over because of the cash machines that inhabit the first three spots) wrote the border fence bill signed by President Bush in October. He rightly criticized the Bush administration for not moving more quickly to build the barrier.
He stated, "We need to be able to ask people when they want to come into America: Knock on the front door because the back door's going to be closed," Hunter said.

McCain sought to solidify his position as the frontrunner in the South Carolina polls by saying he is willing to be the last man standing in favor of war (this coming a few months after he called the troops deaths over their "lives wasted". McCain stated at one point, "If we fail in Iraq we will see Iraq become a center for Al Qaeda, chaos, genocide in the region and they will follow us home; Americans are frustrated because of the mishandling of this war, but America's vital national security interests are at stake."

Romney began strong, then fell behind under criticism. Rudy Guiliani stood fast on his positions, but made the highlight reel when he cornered Ron Paul (the major idiot on the stage) and told him to take back what he insinuated in regards to the reasons for terrorist plots against America. That's right, there was an idiot on the stage in favor of cutting and running, and actually blamed America's presence in the Middle East for 9/11.

Uh, I think Ron Paul's seeking nomination for the wrong party.

In the end, the candidate in my mind that won was Duncan Hunter. Hmmmm, I think Jenn is right. We need a Duncan Hunter/Cary Cartter ticket.

A Day Late, but on the Pistachio. . . a special post by Cary Cartter

Everything Was Perfect ...
A man and his wife had a son. They were very proud parents, and nurtured him through his formative years. He was a perfect specimen - ten fingers and toes, all his limbs, all the right parts in the right places.
Except for one thing. The boy would not talk.
His parents tried everything they knew to get him to talk. They coaxed him, cajoled him, even consulted the specialists.
Then, one day at dinner, the boy spoke. "Pass the salt, please."
His parents were speechless. They looked at the boy, then at each other, and then back at the boy.
The father said, "Son, why haven't you spoken before now?"
The boy replied, "Up till now, everything was perfect."
Can you see the parallel to the American government? The majority of Americans have been silent - low turnouts at the polls on voting day gives witness to the fact that most Americans are/were complacent, even (dare I say it?) lazy. Well, things aren't perfect anymore.
There are minority factions who have the ears of some very high Career Politicians. The homosexual faction wants any mention of how their lifestyle is against someone's religious beliefs to be considered "hate speech" and a "thought crime." The drug culture wants their use and abuse of narcotics and controlled substances to be accepted and no longer punishable by law.
These people, instead of working to keep this country a model of a representative republic, want to have an "anything goes" attitude. Smoking dope? That's cool. Drinking and driving? No problem. Rape, assault, murder? Fully acceptable in the land of the liberal mindset. Having limits, rules, regulations, is what allows a civilization to thrive and grow. When the rules and regulations are ignored or altered to favor one group over another, then there is no longer a mindset of "All men are created equal" - there is the onset of the "victim mentality," where the individual is no longer held accountable for their own actions, but any wrong that befalls them is a direct result of events in their past; events they have no control over, and events that they will allow to control the rest of their lives.
Everything is not perfect anymore. The time has come for We the People to stand up and be heard. It's time for We the People to let the Career Politicians know that we are no longer going to allow them to rule according to how they want to fill their pocket; they need to put the United States of America back at the forefront of their dealings and negotiations.
If they can't do that, then it's time for them to be removed from their burrows and barred from politics for the rest of their lives. It's time for the Citizens to become Statesmen; for all of us who are capable and qualified to step up and run this country using common sense and strict interpretations of the founding documents. It's time for the people of this country to reclaim their birthright. It's time for everyone to be held accountable for their own actions. It's time for We the People to take responsibility for the mess we have allowed to develop.

As President, Common Sense would be the rule, not the exception. Whining would be limited to the sound from a dog trying to get your attention. Invaders from other countries would be treated as enemy combatants, not coddled as favored guests. Armed invaders from other countries would be shot on sight. The military (both active duty, and those who need assistance after serving active duty)would be a priority at budget time. Yes, I mean VA hospitals and benefits would be taken care of before any bridges to nowhere got built.
Border Security and National Integrity would be the cornerstones of my administration. Yes, I am a Christian (actually, a Christ-follower) and I would lead with that as a background. Before anyone puts thoughts or words in my mouth - I will not advocate the establishment of a national religion. There's a rule against that, and rumors to the contrary are false.
Wake up, stand up, and let everyone know that things are no longer perfect.

Al-Qaeda claims they have captured American Troops

Al-Qaeda claims it has captured American soldiers and is now warning the United States to stop searching for them. The al-Qaeda front group claims it attacked the U.S. convoy as revenge for the rape and murder of a local teenager last year.

It is thought that the three missing soldiers were abducted by al-Qaida-linked militants after an attack which included three roadside bombs.

4,000 U.S. troops with aircraft support as well as backing by intelligence units and Iraqi forces, searched an area around Mahmoudiya and the nearby town of Youssifiyah in hopes of locating the missing soldiers.

The al-Qaeda terror network in Iraq claimed responsibility for killing two U.S. soldiers whose mutilated bodies were found after they disappeared in the same area last year.

Border Patrol Agent Found Dead

Last night, after you get pass my loud and out of control sound effects (I am having fun experimenting with them), my radio show went beyond its normal one hour length, finishing at the 1 hour, 56 minutes, and 21 seconds mark. The reason for the long show was a caller that engaged me in conversation that was both fascinating, and made for good radio. You'll have to listen to the archive at Political Pistachio Radio to see what I mean. His name is Tim, and he is a contributor to the site: A Newt One. Anyhow, at one point of the show he asked me if I had heard about the Border Patrol agent found dead near the Salton Sea not too far from me here in Southern California. I hadn't heard about it yet, but after investigating, this is what I know, so far, about this incident:

A U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Richard Goldstein, 37, was found dead drowned in the Coachella Canal near Niland, California just east of the Salton Sea, and about 40 miles north of the Mexican Border. His SUV was still idling, and his K-9 partner was loose, but sitting next to the vehicle. The body was found on Friday, and the incident is now being investigated as a homicide. Investigators are looking into possible connections between the agent's death and the known criminal activities in the area. The area the agent was located is a hot spot for drug smuggling, and illegal alien smuggling. A few years back an agent was involved in a shooting in the area with smugglers.

Goldstein was based at the Indio station which is in the desert east of Palm Springs. He served with the Border Patrol for five years. He was a resident of the area and is survived by a wife and two children.

A search for him had been initiated on Friday when Goldstein did not report in. A fellow Border Patrol agent discovered the body floating in the canal. The canal is mostly lined with concrete, and delivers Colorado River water to farms in the area.

If this turns out to be a homicide, and if the death of the agent was at the hands of illegals, drug runners, or Mexican Supremacists, the story will be buried and forgotten; unlike when an agent uses force to control a foreign-born law breaker, at which time the story becomes front page news and the agents are accused of abuse of power and unnecessary force.

My prayers are with this agent's family, and I applaud all of the heroes of the Border Patrol that put their life on the line to protect the sovereignty of our nation.

And this may be just another piece of proof that a large portion of illegals are not here to be law abiding citizens. Where the illegals go, their crime follows them. In this case, the crime may be murder.

Legislating Morality

Christian influence in political debate in recent times has taught Christians that they cannot legislate morality. However, when a debate arises on a real issue, and Christians take a stance, the secular American republic assumes that Christians are trying to force their moral values down the country's throat.

Rosie O'Donnell, in a now infamous episode of The View, compared Christianity to Islam, saying that Radical Christianity was as much of a threat as Radical Islam.

She is gay, and The Church's stance on her sexual orientation, I am sure, provided a lot of fire behind her statement. But is she so naive to believe that Christianity, like Islam, would wish for her to be placed in jail for her independent sexual decisions?

Morality has its place in society, but it cannot be legislated. However, as much as those that are not Christian desire that Christianity not be imposed upon them, so do Christians believe that secularism should not be imposed upon them.

Let's take Gay Marriage as an example. Though Christians feel that being gay places the individual outside of God's teachings, a Christian, under the envelope of "Freedom and Liberty for all" and responsible common sense, will not impose any law, nor support any law outlawing homosexuality. There may be some fringe radicals that will call for it, but based on biblical teachings and American liberty, gays are rest assured that their orientation decision is protected. However, marriage is a Christian institution, and though it is used by the entire society as a means of creating a union between a man and a woman, its Christian roots is well known and respected. Gay Rights activists are currently trying to convince our governing body to force homosexuality upon a Christian practice. Civil unions through the government is one thing, but marriage has Christian ties and should not be compromised by gays. This is not legislating morality, this is protecting a Christian institution from secularization.

It seems to me that liberals think that conservatives would like to be able to legislate morality. They misunderstand abortion to be one such issue, when in reality conservatives see it as a genocide issue just as much as an issue of morality. And what is morality. Let's really think about this. Morality, as defined by the Cambridge Dictionary, is: a personal or social set of standards for good or bad behaviour and character, or the quality of being right, honest or acceptable. So in a sense, being a law abiding citizen is being moral. So really, the argument by the secular progressive liberal left is not about legislating morality. It is about legislating their morality over Christian or Conservative morality.

Jenn from ScrewLiberals dot com says that she is a huge fan of responsible decision making. I concur.

Now, let's take this a step further. Liberal America wishes to crush Christianity, or at least numb the effects of The Church on society, yet they also demand that we make certain concessions to our Muslim citizens - even if it means allowing them to impose their moral system on us.

Fact is, Islam is spreading through Europe, and gaining strength here in the United States as we sit and quibble over the Democrat's "getting their point across" with wasteful legislation that is doomed to be vetoed. The heart of the matter is that no nation is legitimate in the eyes of Islam without obeying the main teachings of the Sharia. No religion is more worldly than Islam. No religion keeps its eyes more fixed on the way the world is run. Politics is combined with religion in Islam. Islam is a complete way of life, and they are willing to impose their ideology on the West by force.

The Islam religion is the main frame of reference for the constitution and laws of predominantly Muslim countries because they believe that it is God, not man, that rules. God is the source of all authority, including political authority. Virtue, not freedom, is the highest value.

Islam provides no distinction, as Christian religions do, between what should be rendered unto Caesar and what is rendered unto God.

In Islam, everything is rendered unto Allah.

The Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran says that Islam rejects the idea of a nation based on the approval of laws in accordance with the opinion of the majority. Islamic states are autocracies under the Sharia, and pressure for any other political arrangement is punishable by death. The Sharia is sufficient in itself for the governing of society, according to Islamic leaders. The Sharia's ability to govern extends to the totality of "religious, political, social, domestic, and private life."

An Islamic Superstate is the goal, with state power and religious power fused, centering on a caliph as the leader chosen by Allah for his people. Such a caliphate has been no more since the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1918, but fanatical Muslims like Obama bin Laden calls for its restoration.

An Islamic State ruled by the Sharia leaves little room for representative government. There is no separation of church and state in Islam. Islam is a complete way of life. Muslims advocating the separation of religion from politics are considered to be unbelievers, and Muslims are ordered to kill these apostates.

This is one of the major reasons we must remain in Iraq. The people that have welcomed Democracy and support the American presence are apostates in the eyes of the leaders of Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and so forth. We are not only there to control terrorism, take away Iraq as a safe haven for terrorism, and protect America from its enemies, but we are also present in that region to protect the citizens of Iraq from their neighbors. A pull-out from Iraq would open the nation up for a blood bath, embolden our enemies, and strenghen the Islamic cancer growing in Western Society. The values at the heart of American law and society is changing as the Muslims seek a majority. In Europe, increasing Muslim populations may herald substantial change in these societies.

In the United States Christian moral value helped forge our supreme values and are embodied in the Constitution and the law of our land. The Muslim world has its own set of values, and it is their goal to replace our Western values with theirs.

Muslim populations are expanding in Europe and the call for Islamic values will be carried westward with them. Christians look down upon homosexuality and request that gay marriage not become the law. Islam looks down upon homosexuality as a sin punisible by death, and homosexuals are stoned to death for their sexual orientation. And trust me, if able here in America, Islam would have no problem legislating morality.

Wildfires, Floods, Tornadoes and Treasonous Professors

Fires have erupted in California (including Catalina Island), Georgia, Florida; Missouri is under flood waters; a Class 5 Tornado has hit Kansas.

In Kansas the governor has been caught politicizing the tragedy. She was on a radio station being interviewed and blamed Bush and the federal government for lack of response.

Isn't that a local issue? Didn't our forefathers in their wisdom create the state system so that local governments can take care of local problems, and the federal government worries about federal issues (like protecting the nation with a fully trained, armed and funded military)?

Bush contacted this governor offering federal aid and the governor denied needing it, hung up the phone, and then went to work trying to turn this against the Bush Administration.

Is it Bush's fault that fires and floods are raging as well?

And how long before this gets blamed on Global Warming?

Meanwhile, Norman Finkelstein of DePaul University supports Hezbollah, and denies the holocaust. He calls for Israel's destruction. And the university is getting ready to grant him his tenure.

He sounds like Ahmadinejad, and this guy is teaching the future of America - and in a Catholic University, no less.

The war is not only on the sands of Iraq, but in the halls of the U.S. government and in the souls of America. The liberals latch on to anything they can to spread their agenda.

(and I haven't even talked about what Opie and Anthony on XM Radio said about raping Condi Rice!)

When Stupidty Meets Violent Ways

I was talking with a Liberal co-worker today, and he says to me, "I don't understand why you are so against Universal Health Care. Who, in their right mind, is against free health care?"

Remember the last post about liberal stupidity? The dude really believes that Universal Health Care is free medical care for all! Even after I explained how tax rates in countries with social programs including Universal Health Care dominating their life are 50% and higher, he shrugged it off.

Then he claimed that the terror attacks around the world are being perpetuated because of our presence in Iraq. Being at war with terrorism, according to him, breeds more terrorism.

Liberalism is in control of Congress and is currently in the process of selling out our nation. Liberalism subscribes to the touchy-feely idea of nurturing, rather than competition or challenge. They believe that all a person needs is a little understanding, a pat on the back, and they will be as friendly as a butterfly.

After all, says Rosie O'Donnell, these terrorists are mothers and fathers too.

Islamic Terrorists have one goal. They desire spreading the ideology of Islam across the world by force. And by pulling out of one of the War on Terror's most important battles, the one in Iraq, we are essentially rewarding terrorists for their violent ways, which will, in turn, give way to more violence by way of terrorism.

And what is even worse, we have traitors in our midst willing to help the terrorists reach their goal (you know, those fine Americans that now dominate Congress). But what is even more frightening, as proven by the situation on Monday at Fort Dix, New Jersey, is that the terrorists are here, living among us, because we accomodate them any way we can. We have become a decaying society willing to bend over backwards to welcome the enemy and give them footwashing facilities in Kansas City, prayer rooms in Minnesota, special schools in New York, and special privileges wherever they decide they need them. We are so busy searching for social programs and "green" products to make us feel like we are doing good things for everyone that we have failed to do anything about the enemy crossing our borders and infiltrating our government. They have permeated our society in the guise of Feminism, illegal immigration, environmentalists, abortionists, and the like. Through their religion of liberalism they wish to change America. They wish to dismantle our sovereignty. They wish to sell our souls, and hand our nation over to the Sharia Law.

I realized this many years ago, and a little over a year ago I created Political Pistachio to join the battle against the enemy. On May 6, 2006, I wrote my first post titled, "What is a Political Pistachio," explaining in the post what you can read above under the title. My second post was about a conversation I had with a friend about the liberal left and our bleeding border. The first ever commenter on this site, Bushwack, wrote that they won't do a thing about it until a WMD crosses the border and is detonated in the U.S. He was right, and that is what fueled me to keep on fighting, keep on writing, and provide commentary on what I deem to be the truth.

What Illegal Aliens & the Fort Dix Terror Plot have in common

"If I'm not mistaken, DG, himself, married, and has near adult children with, an illegal immigrant, who only became legal 2 weeks ago."

Originally, this comment by Mudkitty (and trust me, this will probably be the last post ever to mention her name now that moderation is in place) really made me mad. Then, I got to thinking about it. Like most liberals she is so uninformed that she doesn't even understand what the difference between an illegal alien and a legal alien is, much less the more complex difference between right and wrong.

Months ago she made a comment stating that most restaurant workers are illegal aliens.

Fact is, most restaurant workers are aliens, but not necessarily illegal aliens.

So here's a little education. When someone immigrates here legally, they receive a green card (which is actually pink, or at least Mrs. Pistachio's was). The green card recognizes the person as a legal resident of the United States, but does not grant citizenship - only legal residency. The process to be granted legal residency is intensive, and is designed to weed out the criminal element and not allow into this country any disease that has been eradicated from our country - or any health problems that will be harmful to the current legal residents and citizens of the United States. If the resident desires to become a citizen any time in the future, they still have to go through a separate process which includes fees, a test, and red tape once again designed to allow only the people serious about citizenship to attain such status. This latter process is what Mrs. Pistachio recently went through (she began the process in October of 2005).

Six suspects were arrested last night for terror conspiracy charges. They were planning to kill soldiers at Ft. Dix in New Jersey. All of the suspects are believed to be Islamic Radicals, and three of them (three Duka brothers) entered the United States illegally.

The terrorists intended to use automatic rifles to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, and guns as they could. A store clerk saw their plan on video that the terrorists wanted changed over to DVD and contacted the local police department, who in turn contacted the FBI. The suspects' images were captured on more than 50 audio and video recordings.

This goes to show two things. First, that even though we have taken the fight to the terrorists, it is still possible for us to suffer attacks on our shores, and secondly, considering that three of these people entered the U.S. illegally, shows the necessity of tightening our borders (both north and south).

One more tidbit about illegals. Even though entering the United States illegally is AGAINST THE LAW, there are groups that not only encourage the activity, but teach those here illegally how to use our justice system in their favor, and how to lie and resist law enforcement (and we wonder why they threw bottles and rocks at our law enforcement during the May Day rallies - at which time, as opposed to the MSM's attitude that police were abusive, I applaud our law enforcement for their restraint in that situation).

Anyway, in Maryland an immigrant advocacy group is distributing guidebooks explaining to illegals how to not cooperate with authorities if they are arrested or detained. In other words, there are idiot Americans trying to teach the border-jumping criminals how to deepen their criminal activities. Link to Guidebook.

Illegal is illegal. And it's not just about immigration. This issue is about Homeland Security as well.

France Sees The Light When American Democrats Don't

Nicolas Sarkozy, a pro-American conservative, was voted in as President of France. He won the majority of the women's vote, and the vote of the blue-collar workers, even though the candidate that he was battling for the presidency was a woman and a Socialist. This marks France as being the latest European government to move in a rightward direction in the last few years. Germany was the last nation in Europe to change their lean.

As the United States citizens fall for the dirty and deceptive maneuvers of the liberal left, the French have rejected the fear-mongering of the Socialists in their country. Instead of voting for a Socialist candidate who supported strong welfare policies and social platforms, the people of France opted for a man that is determined for France to break from their behaviors of the past. He won the election on the platform of tax cuts, tougher prison sentences, "tighter immigration rules", and to restore the values of work, authority, morals, and national pride. He plans to eliminate the inheritance tax, cut into social protections many French hold dear, make the French work more and make it easier for companies to hire and fire. When the issue of Iran's nuclear program came up, he chided the French press for its Anti-American tone. His only non-conservative comments was that he calls the Iraq invasion an error in judgement, and believes that the Bush Administration should do more in regards to global warming.

After a few terror attacks, and consulting with scientists that aren't on the Manmade Global Warming Religion's payroll, he might see the light on those issues.

If only a Republican that was as conservative (minus the last two indiscrepancies) would receive the Republican nod.

Can anyone say "Hunter" or "Huckabee?"

Speaking of Iraq, did you hear what al Qaeda's second in command, Ayman al-Zawahri, had to say about the U.S. congressional call for troop withdrawal from Iraq? He said, "This bill reflects American failure and frustration."

We haven't even pulled out of the region, and just the Democrat's attempt to force a withdrawal has the enemy chomping at the bit and already proclaiming victory! Hey, liberals, do you get the frickin' point? You are in cahoots with the enemy, and they like it!

Traitors.

I just hope the voters here in America are smarter than that, and rather than vote in a Socialist, uh, Democrat, they would understand before placing their votes that Patriotic Americans do not give aid and comfort to our enemies, and we don't walk away from a NECESSARY fight in a nation that is smack-dab in the middle of the war on terrorism!

Penalizing our Protectors

In Iraq, if an American Soldier fires his weapon, more often than not the incident will be investigated. Court-martial in these cases, is sure to follow, especially if a mainstream media crew is sitting around in the middle of the desert just waiting for the next gunfight to begin, or the next IED to go off, so that they can exploit it. (as mentioned in Euphoric Reality's "Angry Iraq Vet Says Enough!" of course those same crews won't be filming Iraqi children getting their immunizations from Army medics.)

Here in America two Border Patrol Agents, Ramos and Compean, were sentenced to prison for doing their job.

Now, the Los Angeles Police are under fire for their response to the immigration rally on May 1st, 2007. Activists are claiming that a helmeted, baton-wielding unit trained to rigorously respond to riots and dangerous standoffs had no business being called to a peaceful demonstration.

So I guess the rocks and bottles being thrown at police was peaceful.

They are being called abusive, and brutal. I watched it on television, and what I saw was people refusing to obey the authorities and being pushed back and herded out of the area. As the crowd resisted, stronger force was used.

Now, there is an uproar calling the situation a melee of officers beating demonstrators and reporters.

If the authorities have a bat in their hand and tell you to move - you move, you idiots!

Now the police are under investigation for the clash. Another case of penalizing our protectors because law breakers don't respect authority.

Added note, the rally was heavily populated by illegal aliens, people who broke the law to be here in the first place, and then have a right to complain?

The Next Veto - The Gay Agenda

Last night when I got home from work I heard that the Republican Debate was on television. I promptly went to bed. Don't get me wrong, an opportunity to see the ten declared Republican candidates meet together for the first time and slug it out was tempting - but I knew that their contrasting views on social issues would dominate the forum, and the liberal press would jump all over that.

I was right. This morning when I picked up my dew-ridden newspaper in a clear plastic baggy laying on my driveway the first thing that caught my eye was the headline on the bottom of the frontpage that read: "GOP Candidates show sharp divide on social issues, Bush record." (I did, however, hear from my mom that Duncan Hunter and Mike Huckabee kicked butt - and Hunter carries himself as Presidential material)

Now, the divide on Bush's record is to be expected. Some Republicans support his actions one hundred percent, some feel he went in too strong, and your most conservative Republicans and candidates believe that we went into the war too soft. Have there been mistakes in running the war? I suppose there have been. It's an imperfect world with imperfect leaders. If it had been up to me we would have gone in stronger, using the great weaponry available to us on our Naval Ships and our mighty aircraft.

Then I came across another gem that about knocked me to the floor. I had heard about his on the radio yesterday, but didn't really get into the meat of the issue, and bill, until this morning.

Congress will vote on Thursday on a "hate crimes" bill, H.R. 1592. This is just another bill that the Democrats know that President Bush will veto, but they aren't writing these bills to be passed. The liberal left wish for the President to veto their bills. The Democrats are wording these bills in such a way that when President George W. Bush vetoes them the Left can come back with a whole list of things he rejected and why he is such a bad guy for doing so.

Example: When he vetoed the recent Iraq Funding Bill the Democrats loaded it with so much pork that it was ridiculous. Did the Left really believe that the bill would go through? Of course not. But now that Bush has vetoed it, they can go right down the line of accusatons. They proclaim Bush denied the troops their funding, denied the citizens an increase in the minimum wage, denied the war victims of the future their very lives, etc. etc. etc.

With the Fairness Doctrine they will accuse the Right, when it is rejected, of denying the public the right to hear the truth, denying the public of fair broadcasting, and that by rejecting the bill the Conservative Right will receive the exact opposite of what they expect and hope for - and that the public will demand that the FCC silence these conservative threats to security.

Remember, the Germans willingly voted the Nazis into power back during the 1930's because they were led to believe similar lies as well. Maybe we should rename the Democratic Party the American National Nazi Party of Democrats.

Now, the Liberal Congress, led by House Speaker Nancy "Feminazi" Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry "I Surrender" Reid, is sponsoring this "hate crimes/gay-friendly" legislation which basically outlines that anything done or said against homosexuality is a hate crime. Yes, that's right, under this new law if your preacher stands on the pulpit claiming that the Bible proclaims homosexuality is a sin, he will be subject to this proposed law and could be jailed for his comment.

And what's even worse, the cases used to support this bill are all fraudulent.

I am sure that there are isolated incidences of legitimate bias-motivated crimes against homosexuals, but the violence is not an epidemic as gay-activists would have you believe, and the church is not the driving force behind such violent behavior.

The original fervor for this comes from a gay rights group canceling a planned rally on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus after a homosexual on that campus claimed he was taunted for his sexual orientation and attacked by four men last week. The real uproar is over the fact that after it was investigated, police stated that the reported assault was not a hate crime. The victim was interviewed again later and finally admitted there were no anti-gay remarks and believes he was pushed down and injured by "unknown" assailants.

In other words because he's gay he figured he could scream "hate crime" and help his agenda. It was a false report.

Another case that assisted in spurring on H.R. 1592 (Hate Crime Bill) is the case of a 72 year old gay man in Detroit who claimed to have a "hate crime" perpetrated against him. This case is one of many to be exploited by the liberals in Congress, which has whipped up an emotional frenzy among the Democrats, and has been used to justify the introduction of the "Hate Crimes" bill. Guess what? The Detroit case turned out to be a false report just like the one in Minnesota, but in this case, nothing ever happened at all in the first place! It was a completely fraudulent report!

The homosexual lobby considers any crime, assault or inconsiderate bump against a homosexual a "hate crime." Doesn't matter if it had nothing to do with the fact that the individual was gay. Democrats are all emotional over what is obviously dishonesty on the part of the gay-rights crowd, and also are hoping that Bush will veto this bill so that they can proclaim later that he does not support gays, and that he is just as guilty as the rest of us for not accepting these poor, down-trodden people.

And eventually something like this bill will pass through. Why? Because we have been desensitized, and taught that we are insensitive people for thinking that homosexuality is immoral.

What's even worse is this agenda's backing and teaching all began in our public schools.

The public schools are teaching that homosexuality is natural and normal. Homosexual advocates have injected pro-homosexuality discussions into early grade classrooms, including kindergarten, in the name of tolerance and diversity. In middle school and high school our children are being encouraged to "come out" as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or even transgender. Homosexual school clubs are popping up all over campuses (remember, it is wrong to have a Christian Club on campus, but Gay Clubs, Islamic Clubs, la Raza clubs, etc. are perfectly okay). A complete moral breakdown is permeating our public schools. Sexual activity is rampant, and encouraged.

The agenda, which begins in our schools, climax with the Democrats in office. In both settings they promote victimology, discuss alternative families, celebrate the diversity of homosexuality, enact non-discrimination codes in schools and now upon us in public (unless of course you are a conservative, Christian, or Jew, then discrimination is encouraged), promote coming out, promote gay pride, try to use homosexual role models to convince us that such immorality is okay, and equate any disagreement with hate, bigotry and prejudice.

Just by writing this post I am sure Political Pistachio will be quickly added to the "Hate List" of homosexual and lesbian groups. Why? Because I support Biblical Truth? And besides, the bill is unconstitutional (by setting up special classes of victims when all people under the constitution should be treated equally), and sets up the same thing the Fairness Doctrine does: the eventual death of Freedom of Speech.

The Left believes in Freedom of Speech as long as you agree with them.

The trap has been set, and the Homosexual Agenda is ready to strike. The veto of the "Hate Crimes" bill is just another notch in their agenda.

Unpatriotic Liberals Push Fairness Doctrine

A few weeks ago a commenter on My Point Radio's site told me that I was in the wrong for accusing those who were against the War In Iraq as being unpatriotic. He cited an example of a conversation he had with a World War II veteran who is against the war. He dared me to call a WWII war veteran unpatriotic. I wimped out, on that date, and stated that nowhere in the article I wrote did I accuse Liberals of being unpatriotic, only that I believe their stance was a poor one considering the enemy that we are up against.

We fight an unreasonable enemy, bent on our destruction, and if you don't believe that, pay attention to what the Jihadists say, every once in a while.

A common argument used by the Left regarding the invasion of Iraq is that there were no Iraqis involved in 9/11. Another common argument is that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, so we should have left because our intelligence was in error. In both cases, the answer is, "Just because you don't see something on first inspection doesn't mean it was never there."

Weapons of Mass Destruction were present in Iraq, and were either hid well, or shipped out to Iran or Syria, or wherever. The "Bush Lied" argument associated with the WMD's is a poor one at that. All of our intelligence pointed toward there being WMD's in Iraq, as well as the historical use of such weapons by Saddam prior to the invasion. The argument, like most liberal arguments, is just a matter of not being well informed. If is funny how liberals are always crying out for cited sources, yet make many claims without their own proof, or give only part of the story without full disclosure, or cite sources that are questionable at best.

Another fact is regarding this is, Saddam Hussein, and many other Iraqis, were directly linked to 9/11. One such link was confirmed in 2004. Mohammad Atta, the leader of the 9/11 hijackers in the United States, was in close contact with an Iraqi intelligence official during the time approaching 9/11. (Link to one of the Sources) Another story, one I read in a military magazine, claimed that in New Guinea, on a lay-over of a flight bringing some of the terrorists to America to perform their dastardly deed, the terrorists met with a Iraqi for their paperwork and identification papers as well as instructions. Iraq was involved in those attacks on America, and so far a number of key Iraqis (Saddam and Zarqawi for instance) have been removed.

Speaking of Zarqawi, that brings up another lefty argument. They say, "We should be going after al-Qaeda, not Iraq! Iraq is a distraction from the real war." Zarqawi was the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Yesterday, his replacement, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, was killed just north of Baghdad. He was the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Hear that? Al-Qaeda in Iraq. By being in Iraq we are going after al-Qaeda, or at least a part of the organization. Once again, liberals, your argument falls flat.

How about that conspiracy theory that idiots like Rosie O'Donnell likes to throw around. You know the one. Our own government planted explosives in the World Trade Center buildings (Building 7 which was not hit by a plane is used as an example often) because physics says, "Fire can't melt steel!" Well, first of all, fire (a very high temperature fire, mind you) is used to melt iron and other alloys to create steel. But just to be fair, she must have meant a situation created by the tragedy of a blazing fire caused by a crash, or something. You mean like the one last Sunday when a tanker full of gasoline crashed and exploded shooting flames under a highway on-ramp in Oakland, resulting in its collapse? Guess what? The fire weakened the steel, causing the collapse. Once again, the liberal argument has been proven wrong.

And so far any liberal reading this will still deny these facts, argue the point, and claim that the obvious facts are wrong. You see, facts are only accurate if they support their agenda.

Want more facts? How about that Global Warming agenda the Left loves to embrace so much. I was reading the paper the other day and it said: "Global Warming Opponents Concede that the Earth is Warming." The Left always tries to make it sound like Conservatives are giving in, or something. Honestly, I never said the Earth wasn't warming. I have always said that it is a natural occurrence, and not caused by humanity. Humans pump less than 1% of the Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere, which is too small of an amount to matter if the environmentalists were right in their claim that all the CO2 in the air is causing the globe to warm. They love to show pictures of collapsing glaciers, and polar bears standing on blocks of ice floating around in a vast ocean. First of all, when glaciers grow, the ends break off, causing those fantastic pictures. I don't have the stats in front of me, but a friend of mine that grew up in Alaska (half Inuit as well) told me that in the last few years the glaciers have grown by six feet, not melted away, and of the twelve major polar bear populations, ten experienced a rise in population. The other two remained steady. However, that is not the kicker. For those that watched the video I once had on Political Pistachio, "The Great Global Warming Swindle," you already know the facts. For the lefties and folks that don't know, let me spell it out for you. Global Warming is caused by sunspot activity, among other things. And increased CO2 does not cause the Earth to warm, the warming trend causes an increase in CO2. Wow, what an amazing concept! The warming of the Earth is caused by the Sun! Who'd have ever thought?

Back to the war, it is interesting how the Left not only fails to support the Global War on Terror as it branched into Iraq, but anything that may protect our nation against another attack. The border issue is a great example of that. On May 1st thousands of protesters nationwide marched calling for immigration reform, an open border, and a stop to raids by the federal government against illegals. These are people that have no respect for authority. They jump the border, violating the law in the process, and then ignore the police or border patrol when apprehended. At the rally in Los Angeles the protesters got out of hand, so the police used non-lethal force to control the crowd and herd them to where they needed to be. And what was the response? They defied the police, and then when police became forceful, cries that the police overstepped their bounds came out. But here's the real kicker. They claim they want free immigration for all people wishing to come to America. That would be a billion bodies of people coming from Third World countries with their hands held out for a freebie. Most of those people coming to America would not be here to work, and many may not even come for the free handouts. Many will come with other things in mind. With this free border, it makes one wonder, how many terrorists and WMD's have crossed the border along with the illegals?

Now, why would the Left do such things? Are they stupid? Do they not recognize the facts?

The answer, my friends, becomes apparent when we also take into consideration HR3302 (The Media Ownership Reform Act - or the new Fairness Doctrine if you want to call it that). The bill basically is an attempt by Liberal Democrats to muzzle conservative talk radio. What this is in a nutshell is an assault on free speech. Hitler quelled all dissenting voices when he took power. The communists of the Soviet Union crushed dissent in a manner not unlike this as well. Now, the National Socialists of America (better known as the Liberal Democrats) seek to crush dissent by consolidating control over the media, specifically talk radio.

With the failure of "Air America" which is now bankrupt, and the small listenership of NPR, the liberals are finding themselves losing the airwave battle because of popular shows hosted by the likes of Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly (not counting thousands of smaller conservative broadcasters like Glenn Beck, Jerry O'Doyle, John Zigler, Roger Hedgecock, and so on). Liberals close to Nancy Pelosi are promoting this legislation which will, if passed, take off the air the above mentioned conservative radio hosts, and possibly bleed into shows like yours truly's Political Pistachio Radio, or my friends at My Point Radio, and so forth. This so-called "Fairness Doctrine" states that all views are to be given equal time on the radio. The FCC would have the power to oversee and change radio and television content. The idea is to take away the advantage the Right has accumulated on the nation's air waves.

The real force behind this is secular-progressive George Soros, a radical leftist billionaire that hates conservatives, and envisions the United States as becoming a militaristic fascist empire, supporting abortion on demand, legalization of drugs, homosexual marriage, euthanasia, open borders (unlimited immigration), and a one-world government built upon a socialist platform headed by the United Nations. According to Soros, and the supporters of HR3302, conservatives (specifically the conservative talk show hosts) pose a threat to American national security, and under this bill, would be fired.

But why is it that conservative talk shows are so prominent? Could it possibly be because that is what the listeners like to listen to? Right-leaning shows have been gaining momentum because people desire alternative news and commentary to the liberal mainstream media. This "Fairness Doctrine" is a direct assault on the freedom of speech. It is the liberals trying to silence the voice of truth because they are losing the battle in the marketplace of ideas. They are unable to compete with conservatives in debate because the facts are against them, so their response is to silence the facts. This is a Stalinist method of stifling dissenting points of view. Hey, liberals, if you don't like what I have to say, or what Limbaugh has to say, or what O'Reilly has to say, or what Hannity has to say, or what Savage has to say. . . go buy the New York Times, tune in to NPR, or watch MSNBC or CNN. You'll get your lefty, socialistic, America hating crap there.

Liberalism is designed around the socialistic idea of transforming America into a society of collectivism. The Left is trying to restructure the economy, our values, and the United States of America into their Utopian ideal. But the people know that it is a load of crap, so the Left relies on coercion to pass much of their agenda. They raise taxes and push their programs in an attempt to increase the power of the state, and push immoral items like abortion and homosexuality in order to expunge Christianity and Conservatism. Now that they pulled off the last election and gained control of Congress, they are going for broke, confident that the people will fall for their Nazi-style tactics. They are doing whatever they can to silence their ideological opponents.

We must stand united now, under God, and under conservatism, and stop this insanity, or we will no longer be the United States of America that we know and love.

Our grandchildren, if we don't stand up to the liberals now, will grow up in a nation nothing like our beloved America. Instead, they will live in a Union of Soviet Socialist American States.

The left is unpatriotic in all that they do. Hear that Jon? Unpatriotic!

Past Definition of War

Today George W. Bush vetoed the Iraq War Bill that was designed to fund the troops with conditions (including pork that has nothing to do with the conflict) attached.

In Bush's speech where he explained his decision to veto the bill, I agreed with the President across the board.

Because of this position I have been called a war monger, occupier, rightwing loon, etc. And over at Sky Dive Rick's site, Tom the banned liberal commenter and Rick have been going back and forth over the issue of the war. I've been paying attention, fascinated by the interplay, and surprised at how often Tom dragged me into the discussion.

Tom accused me of not taking a specific position, or answering his question regarding how the war should be run.

So here's my answer:

Political Correctness has everyone worried about what they say or what they do to the point that even the Bush Administration has fallen victim to it. The liberal Democrats have pounded it down our throat so much that we have forgotten the history of America that has made this nation so great.

It seems to me that the past definition of war was not what it is now. Today's definition is heavily influenced by Vietnam and the hippies that marched against it. Before the Vietnam War was fought war was waged in a different way. We went in and fought the enemy. We didn't dance around politics.

Right now we are essentially dealing with a termite problem by waiting for the termites to show themselves before we blast them. We fear attacking the problem because a few other bugs may be wiped out as well.

From the beginning we should have gone in with guns blazing, destroyed a few cities, turned some sand to glass, allowed for collateral damage, and showed the world that if you screw with the United States your nation is going to suffer. We should have went in from a position of strength. We should have went in as the Superpower that we are.

Now, with us tippy-toeing around all of this politically correct B.S., we have lost the war because we have refused to fight it. Bush has allowed himself to use rules of engagement that handcuffs our troops because he's worried about what the Left may say. And we have allowed the Media and the Left to dictate the direction of the conflict, and to prosecute our troops through court martials for them doing their job.

Screw the Left, screw political correctness, and fight the damn war! Don't quit until victory is achieved!

That's my answer.

Oh, and yes, for those of you that give me grief, I do think you are unpatriotic for calling a war a lost cause as our troops fight it. To say otherwise would be like tossing a life preserver to a person in the water, and then telling them it doesn't matter, because they are going to drown anyway.
