It's Trump's Economy, Stupid

By Douglas V. Gibbs

F.A. Hayek wrote that if progressives understood economics, they wouldn't be leftists.

Economic results for businesses in a free market system are directly affected by the decisions you make as a business owner.  When YETI cut ties with the National Rifle Association during a period of heavy calls by the Democrats for more gun control, sales were influenced.  Attacking the 2nd Amendment has not turned out too well for other companies, either.  When Target stores played games with bathroom politics, the company paid dearly as a boycott slammed them hard in the pocketbook.

Political economics works similarly.

In California, the Democrats waste money anywhere they can, be it Jerry Brown's train to nowhere, to Los Angeles spending $40,000 per mile to paint streets white in an effort to fight the mythical hysteria of man-made climate change.  I wonder how slick those streets will get when it begins to rain?  Due to Democrat policies in California, a pension crisis is slamming the State.  California is on the verge of a fiscal collapse, yet the Democrats push for more bad economic policies.

Yet, the Democrats don't seem to learn.  In California, their tax policies are chasing successful individuals, and businesses, out of the State.

California Democrats hate Trump so bad, and they hate tax cuts (especially for successful business entities in the free market - a Karl Marx strategy, by the way, to eliminate success and force everyone into a worker proletariat position dependent upon the government) for that matter, that they actually made a proposal that would allow the State to steal from tax payers their tax cut savings.  While the proposed amendment to the State Constitution, which requires a 2/3 legislative approval (and the Democrats lost their supermajority due to sexual misconduct allegations), remains active, it has gone nowhere . . . so far.

Californians have been paying dearly for the bad economic decisions of their leftist politicians, and in this upcoming election it is possible that the overplaying of their hand may cause them to swallow their arrogance, and actually lose control of a number of seats in the Golden State, and perhaps even the governorship.

California is attacking Christianity, with a bill that could actually make the Bible illegal in that State, free speech with a fact checker bill, to even going massively overboard on California's illegal alien love affair, not only opening up government positions for illegal aliens, but passing laws that in the long run actually protects crooked employers and human traffickers.   But, even that is backfiring as cities opt-out of S.B. 54 (Sanctuary State Law), which is, in my opinion, the duty of these cities since Sacramento's political protection of illegal aliens amounts to treason against these United States.

The problem of bad politics and bad economics are even reaching way beyond our borders.  Around the world the liberal left hates the free market, and they don't understand it, and countries playing with socialism are collapsing as a result.  Bad Economics, expanding government intrusion into the lives of individuals, and heavy government debt always, eventually, kills civilizations.

The liberal left may not understand the Free Market, but, fortunately, businessman President Donald J. Trump does.

The politicians have been freaking out ever since Donald J. Trump took possession of the presidency.  The Republican Never-Trumpers and the entirety of the leftist establishment (Democrats, Progressives, Socialists, Communists, and other redundant names we can throw into it) have been screaming with absolute, out-of-their-mind anger over every single policy put into place by President Trump and his allies.

"That's not the way you are supposed to operate in politics!" They have been screaming at him.

Trump's supporters have responded, "That was the whole point of electing him."

Donald Trump was not elected because he was expected to be a good politician.  He was elected because he is outside the establishment.  He plays by a different set of rules than the Democrats and the Republicans do.  He recognized the problem is the political machine, not one political party, or the other one.  The economy didn't need a politician to fix it.  It needed a businessman.

So far, economic records are being shattered, thanks to the policies in place largely due to the businessman in the White House.

While the Republicans were working tax cuts through Congress, the Democrats were arguing that the GOP was not finding a way to pay for the cuts.  The Democrats saw the tax cuts as less revenue.  The conservatives explained that when you reduce taxes, economies grow, businesses make more money, employees make more money, and the job growth creates more taxpayers so, in the long run, it's a win-win situation.  Everybody has more money in their wallet, and overall tax revenue goes up.

The Democrats continued to scream bloody-murder over the planned tax cuts, and now that everything is in place . . . it turns out the businessman-president was right.

The federal government took in a record tax haul in April, creating a record breaking monthly budget surplus.  The federal government collected $515 billion and spent $297 billion, for a total monthly surplus of $218 billion. That slaughtered the previous monthly record of $190 billion, set in 2001.

Liberal leftists must be shocked (but they won't admit, and the mainstream media is doing what it can not to report the good news).  CBO analysts were surprised because the surplus was approximately $40 billion more than they’d guessed at less than a month ago.

Nonetheless, people are noticing the good job President Trump has been doing.  As a result of this issue, and many other issues, even CNN is admitting that Trump's popularity among voters is not only going up among Republicans, but Democrat voters are taking notice, too.
