Obama Frees Hundreds Of Cuban Criminals

by JASmius

You know what this reminds me of?  O's serial turnings-loose of illegal alien criminals the last few years.

But in this case, instead of twenty million newly-minted Democrat voters, he gets a steady inflow of Cuban cigars:

The United States is freeing hundreds of Cuban criminals each year because Havana won't take them back, even as the Obama administration works to normalize relations with the country, the Washington Times reported.

Which means, since the Castros are getting everything they ever wanted from us via The One, they have that much less reason to do us any reciprocal favors.

A 2001 Supreme Court ruling, Zadvydas v. Davis....

A 5-4 leftwingnut decision, in case you were wondering.

....determined that the government cannot detain immigrants beyond six months unless there is a compelling national security or public safety interest, regardless of whether their home countries are willing to take them back.

Cuban....criminals.  Seems that would cover "national security" and "public safety" pretty comprehensively.  And since you only need one or the other, what could be the problem?

Oh, that's right: Barack....Obama.

The countries that most often refuse to accept back their citizens are Cuba, China, and Vietnam....

Enemy, enemy, aaaaaaaaand enemy.

....while other countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras are also in some cases refusing to accept immigrant criminals that the U.S. is trying to deport.

Because they know Obama isn't really trying to deport them, or at most half-heartedly, and they can just wait us out.

Cuba refused to take back 878 criminals last year and also rejected 400 in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, statistics from the U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement agency indicate, according to the Times. Vietnam takes second place, having refused 331 criminals in 2014, but this year has rejected just 44 criminals.

And why should they take them back?  Obama was foolish enough to let them come here, and now they're our problem.  I wouldn't come to President Divot's rescue if I were Castro or Xi Jinping or Trương Tấn Sang.

In total, the government released 2,457 criminals and 461 non-criminal illegal [alien]s last year because of the Zadvydas ruling, the agency said. From January until May 9th, 1,107 criminals and 344 noncriminals were released, the Times reported.

Not because of the Zadvydas ruling.  That was just O's speedo.  He'd be turning 'em loose with or without the SCOTUS's demented blessing.

And how many of those Cuban criminals are Castroid spies?  Nobody knows, and it sure seems like nobody cares.

But then, do the Castros even need espionage anymore when they have such a fellow-traveler/kindred spirit right there in the Oval Office?
