Garbage In, Garbage Out

GIGO is an old computer term. It means "Garbage In, Garbage Out." Essentially, what it means is that unlike humans, computers will unquestioningly process the most nonsensical of input data and produce nonsensical output. In today's hi-tech society the term is not as common since programs have become more sophisticated and now usually have "checks" built in to reject improper input. GIGO is often used in response to computer users who complain that a program did not "do the right thing," not realizing that they had simply given inaccurate input. Garbage In, Garbage Out is also commonly used to describe failures in human decision making due to faulty, incomplete, or imprecise data.

One of my favorite writers, C.S. Lewis, once wrote that ". . . wickedness, when you examine it, turns out to be the pursuit of some good in the wrong way."

An example of such is the Liberal way of thinking. Liberals truly believe that America is a dark and dreadful place filled with all sorts of evils. They believe that the country is full of bigots and people who practice "hate" whenever they can. The government, as far as liberals are concerned, is populated by war-mongers and people who believe in the might of what is in their wallet more than how they can help divert the Global Warming tragedy from killing us all - after all, as everyone with half an enlightened brain knows, it's all humanity's fault in the first place!

So, to battle this evil (since the liberals, as far as they are concerned, are on the side of all that is good), the Liberals stand up for women's rights, gay rights, civil rights, Muslim rights, and Al Gore. Anyone not agreeing with them must be against a woman receiving a fair wage and equal treatment, is a gay-basher, a racist, a war-monger, and does not care that the world will be flooded by melting ice caps and the blood of dying polar bears sometime soon because of humans driving SUV's, using electricity, having babies, and breathing.

The liberals, in their own eyes, are the educated beacons of enlightened thought, and it is their duty to courageously stand up to the forces of Conservative evil and those radical Christians who wish to jam a Christian Theocracy down every one's throats.

They are in pursuit of "good," but not in the right way, and they are making their stands based on faulty data.

These liberal-elitists inhabit the Democratic Party, the majority of America's Universities, most television newsrooms, newspaper publication offices, publishing houses, and women's magazines, not even counting all of the other liberal crooks and crannies they squeeze their self-righteous butts into. Anybody that does not conform to their "better than those right-wing nutcakes" attitude, like Fox News and conservative bloggers like myself have less character than they do, and are determined to turn the clock back a hundred and fifty years when women had no rights, blacks were slaves, God was forced down everyone's throats (or at least that's what they think - they even think that Christians wish to bring back the Crusades!), and Mexico was getting their butt kicked by American Forces.

And the Liberal Left is good at spouting propaganda.

They spew out their garbage constantly.

Newspaper headlines like "U.S. Troop Death Toll Surging", or something like it, appear daily in our liberally-fueled newspapers - with no mention of the advancements provinces not under the hold of sectarian violence are making. Explosions on the streets of Baghdad are reported, but the measles shots given to thousands of children, and other humanitarian efforts by our heroic forces in Iraq are never addressed. The number of deaths in Iraq are splashed across the pages of our newspapers and on the screens of our television sets daily, but an article about the monumental dates of June 4 (Battle of Midway) and June 6 (D-Day, Normandy Invasion) during World War II did not appear in my local paper until June 7th, in a small article, tucked between "We Need Road Relief in the Southland" and "Denying the Theory of Evolution Provides Fallacy and Fear." The article about remembering those two significant dates was three paragraphs long.

In California, legislators are more interested in requiring the spaying or neutering of most dogs and cats, distributing condoms to inmates in state prisons, giving mothers up to 30 days to anonymously drop off an unwanted baby at hospitals or fire stations, requiring background checks on anyone wishing to purchase handgun ammunition, and adopting a health care program that enables all California citizens to be covered by a government run program paid by tax dollars (hmmmm, sounds like socialized medicine to me).

The news agencies are most interested in spreading "Hate Bush" propaganda, and linking anybody that approves of our troops being abroad as "Bush-bots" and "War-mongers," convincing everyone that humanity is at fault for Global Warming and if we don't change our ways we are all doomed (even though science has proven that the Earth goes through warming and cooling cycles and did long before the first SUV hit the road - and guess what? The sun causes the warming! What a concept!), and moving us closer to straight-out Marxist-style socialism.

Muslims are catered to as their counterparts plan the next attack on America while Christians are persecuted and hated for their faith.

And Americans are under attack by an invasion force from the south determined to defeat us by the sheer power of numbers. In my own experience, I actually got in trouble on the job because a Mexican-born co-worker told me that if I messed with him he would report me as racially harassing him (he said, "Who do you think they'll believe, White Boy? You? Or the poor Mexican?") When I reported him being verbally abusive to me, his supervisor, a week later, he pulled out the race-card, proclaimed that he said nothing and that I had slung racial remarks at him, and I haven't been able to shake that racist label ever since. Added note, my wife was born in Mexico, and recently became a naturalized citizen. I'm the last person that would spew racial bigotry against Mexicans, as well as any other people.

Garbage In.

Society is constantly bombarding us with garbage. Politically Correct Garbage. To disagree with them makes you a heretic and a bigot.

And we are bombarded with this garbage daily, as is our children in the school system, and on cable channels (especially on those propaganda machines that mask as music channels).

I once made the statement that if you told someone that the sky is red long enough, eventually, they would begin to believe you. The Left has been proclaiming that the sky is red for a long time, and now, all of that input of garbage is coming back out through the mouths of our politicians, professors, newscasters, and neighbors. The lies have become the truth. Wrong has become right. The little things have added up to the acceptance of the articles of the liberal conspiracy. Now the liberals control just about every facet of our media culture, except talk radio, and they are doing what they can to silence conservatives in the media with bills like "The Fairness Doctrine."

Garbage Out.

Liberals love weakness. It fuels their anger. It gives them a reason to fight the big bad conservatives who are against the little blue collar guy. And a large part of the population actually believes that crap.

And now folks are concerned that our moral values are going into the tank, so they have created their own set of values to combat it. They have decided to cram their own morality down our throat, because in their eyes, we are too stupid to make the right decision.

Such an example is this: Have you heard of the movie, 28 Weeks Later? The movie is violent, disgusting, and scary as hell, so it's rated "R". Rated "R" movies can not be viewed by persons under the age of 17 without being accompanied by an adult. My daughter is sixteen. She will be 17 in five months. I decided that the movie was okay for her and her friend (approved by the other child's parents as well) to see, but my wife and I did not wish to see the same movie, again. So, we bought the kids their tickets, bought our own to see "Pirates", and walked the kids to their theater. A Movie Experience Employee (this happened at The Movie Experience Theater in Murrieta, California) stood at the door and asked if the kids were over 17, and if they were, they needed to show ID. When I indicated that they were under 17, she stated that I was required to watch the movie with them, or else they could not be admitted. After a talk with the Manager, at which time I even offered signing a paper and allowing a photo-copy of my ID indicating I approved of the kids seeing the movie, I decided to depart from the theater, and to never return. I told the manager that I found it offensive that the theater felt that they were a better judge than myself on what I should allow my children to see. Don't get me wrong, I am glad the kids can't just go into a rated "R" movie without my approval, but for me to be there, telling them I approve of it, even offering to sign a document and give them a copy of my identification, and them telling me, essentially, "too bad", was a perfect example of the liberal elitists forcing their version of morality upon me. I believe I am a better parent than they are - and how dare they tell me otherwise!

Garbage In, Garbage Out.

Society has been fed garbage for so long by the liberal-progressive left that they have become bastions of the Leftist philosophy. They have decided that the conservative right must be silenced, Christians must be controlled, and that the Lefties are the experts on morality, and how to run our society. Self-reliance is bad, as far as they are concerned, and the masses are beginning to believe them.

Hillary said it herself! She wishes to move away from this "Do it on your own" society! It's time to work on changing the programming forced upon us by the liberal left back to Responsible Decision Making, and sensibility.

By the way, I am going to write a letter of displeasure to the theater, and the headquarters. Join me in flooding them with your displeasure over them deciding that they know better than myself in what my children can view.

Immigration Bill Fails

The Amnesty Bill offered by the Republicrats which would legalize millions of people who are in the U.S. unlawfully suffered a stunning setback in the Senate. So-called bipartisan compromise championed by President Bush, and criticized heavily by conservatives and liberals alike (for opposite reasons of course) failed a crucial test when it could not attract even a simple majority for its passage.

The defeat was the culmination of a long week of heavy debating which was not unlike the arduous process that went into crafting the bill.

Kennedy partnered with Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, the President, and a number of congressmen in an attempt to join conservative themes of tougher border security and limiting immigration with the liberal goal of legalizing those who are in the U.S. unlawfully and welcoming future border jumpers.

Ding Dong, the bill is dead, the bill is dead, the wicked bill is dead . . . for now.

Yet, Another Liberal Contradiction (the poverty/illegal alien connection)

I didn't watch the GOP New Hampshire debates the other day. Honestly, I didn't have the time. I can guess how it went, though. McCain probably showed the nation, once again, how out of touch he truly is. Romney spent time, more than likely, trying to capitalize on his so-called Kennedy-style looks by pandering to groups he never agreed with back when he was Governor of Massachusetts. Rudy no doubt continued to capitalize on his appropriate position regarding the War on Terror, and how he turned New York around in the sense of crime and economy, while skillfully dodging every other issue on the table.

And while I was thinking about this, my memories flashed back to the recent Democratic debate, and how they absolutely have no clue all the way around, and to cover up for that they actually tried to field questions about faith and ethics. It was comical, from what I hear, but alas, I missed that one too.

One thing I haven't missed is the Democratic statement that they wish to eliminate poverty. Noble cause, I think. Noble, indeed. But their politics contradict that statement. In fact, if some of the taxations and programs they are trying to put on the table were in force, I would surely be in poverty.

I believe that an increase of estate tax would put some folks into poverty, rather than assist them out of such a hole. Liberals forget that the majority of inheritances are not some rich snob handing his riches down to his spoiled children.

That aside, the primary issue that contradicts the Democratic drive to eliminate poverty is the immigration issue. Twelve million illegal aliens live in this country, despite a couple of amnesty programs of the past. Amnesty has proven that it not only does not eliminate the illegal alien problem, but it actually exacerbates the situation.

And with 12 million aliens all vying for legalization, with a few family members to drag into the mix, the number of new legal residents from Mexico will soar to over 50 million people.

My day job is in the Construction Industry, performing tasks that "La Raza" claims to be jobs White People won't do. And what would happen to my job, and millions of other occupations held by American Citizens that require little or no education if millions more people, with a new found legal status, suddenly appeared willing to perform the same tasks for less pay?

I, and many like me, would be out a job, and in the poor house.

Open borders are not only detrimental to our nation's security and economic stability, but is a clear cut contradiction to the Left's desire to eliminate poverty. Opening our borders will not only not eliminate poverty, it will place more American Citizens into such a position.

The Democrats have always hailed that they are for the poor people of this nation, when in reality, with their taxation practices and support of open borders, they are the creators of poverty, and widening the gap between the poor and the elitists that run that Liberal Party of jackasses.

Jefferson, Jefferson, what about Jefferson?!

Representative William Jefferson, Louisiana Democrat, wasindicted on 16 counts involving corruption, including conspiracy to solicit bribes by a public official, scheme to defraud citizens of honest services by wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction and a pattern of racketeering activity. Jefferson also solicited bribes from 11 companies for himself and his family, as well as bribing a Nigerian government official. The scheme allegedly covered five years, from August 2000 to August 2005, and included a front company that he set up to hide the money.

When F.B.I. agents raided the Capitol Hill offices of the congressman, and in a separate raid at his home uncovered $90,000 in cash stashed inside containers in his freezer, the Democrats were all up in arms. How dare the FBI investigate one of their colleagues! Now, they are wondering how this indictment will hurt their cause against the Conservative Right.

The dude was caught red-handed taking bribes, and they brush it aside, while they tarred and feathered Tom DeLay and others without even having any evidence.

The Democrats are actually worried, now, because they have suddenly realized that the voters noticed them "trying to protect their own" and they are concerned that this scandal will lead to Democrats losing the Black Vote.

This hubbub regarding Jefferson is bad news for the Democrats, and they know it, but they don't want to say it too loud because the voters might notice. The mainstream media is not sure how to handle this situation. They have to report it, but they can't play it up too much because one of their own is in the center of it. Had this been a Republican, or a Conservative Independent, the mainstream media would have had their executioner's ax out, but they are stepping lightly regarding Jefferson.

Why?

Because something like this may split the Democrats, and for their battle of "us vs. them" this really hurts. Pelosi needs all of her liberal soldiers for the battle against Bush and those darn "war mongers."

And this especially hurts the Democrats because after Hurricane Katrina they painted a picture of how the Republicans are to blame for everything associated with Katrina and the devastation in New Orleans (funny how Mississippi was hit just as hard, but her Republican leadership didn't whine and cry, but instead led the people to rebuild the Mississippi Coast), and how the Democratic leadership was innocent, etc. Then here comes along Jefferson, Congressman from Louisiana, crooked as the letter "Z".

As far as the mainstream media will be concerned, and you watch, they will not report any dissatisfaction against the Democratic Party over this - that way the impression is that Democrats don't do anything wrong (even when they do) but Republicans do.

And in the end, the word "conspiracy" will begin to appear. The Left will paint this as a conspiracy.

If it is even imagined a Republican has done something wrong, he's guilty before proven innocent. If a Democrat is caught red handed, he's the victim of a conspiracy.

The 70 acre commune is headquarters for a group called "Muslims of the Americas" and have been conducting military style training at the site, preparing for a homegrown jihad. Monday Campaign Notes

I received this e-mail from a close friend after he listened to the Political Pistachio Radio show from Saturday, June 2. Douglas Gibbs had invited me on as the primary guest. My friend (I'll call him "Toby") has some good points, and I will address them throughout:

Cary,

Thank you for your service to our country! I consider you a good friend and I want you to succeed!

Thank you, Toby. I'd like to succeed, also.

I agree with most everything you stand for because I'm a right-wing conservative through and through. I have, generally, just a few minor points of disagreement and they probably have to do with interpretation. I know you are serious about your concern for this country and your fellow man. But what I'm not sure about is your seriousness about being elected President in 2008. I think you enjoy the rhetoric, but not campaigning for the Presidency. And, it seems to me, you don't think or act in terms of one anticipating actually serving as the President. I hope I'm wrong.

Serious? I'm serious about getting attention paid to what We The People are trying to tell our so-called representatives. They don't seem to be listening, and if my campaign gets their attention, and they think about what they are doing to this country, then my job is finished. No, I don't enjoy campaigning - especially since I have a daughter I would rather be spending my free time with - but it is for her sake that I want this country to correct it's course back to the conservative roots it was founded on.

How does one act in anticipation of uprooting his family, living in two places, and trying to run the country when one's wife does not wish to travel? I am constantly struggling with what the future might bring. If I do end up in the Oval Office, what effect will it have on not just my family, but my church family? As you know, I'm involved in the leadership of the church - what will happen if I need to take a long break? How will the exposure affect my family and my church? Will the media dig into all the past details of everyone involved? They tend to have less compassion for past acts that have been forgiven than we as Christians do.

Let me ask a few hard questions that I think anyone who considers writing in your name on a ballot must ask-

How is voting for you not like throwing away my vote?

I can't guarantee that voting for me would not be throwing away your vote, anymore than voting for any of the candidates would be throwing away your vote. I know that voting for me would be taking votes away from career politicians, which is a good thing in the long run, but my hope is that enough dissatisfied people in both parties, the ones who have common sense, and don't like the direction the country is headed, will vote for me - and if that's enough to land me in DC, then so be it. God is in control, and places our leaders in position. Maybe this latest iteration of leadership is God's way of issuing a wake up call to this country - "See what happens when you don't pay attention?" I don't know.


Besides being a former Marine and running for President, what have you done and what are you doing that puts into action the things you stand for on a local, state or national level?

Locally - I don't use day labor. The majority of the day labor pool is in this country illegally. Yes, there are some legal residents who make themselves available through day labor, or Home Depot curb service, but I can't see taking that chance statistically. On a state level, I communicate with my representatives on the issues. On a National level, I have managed to get Ed Pastor to send me a note saying he wasn't going to respond to faxes that I have sent through a third party system - especially since he has made his position clear. So much for letting your "representatives" know how you feel. No, I didn't vote for him - but since he does "represent" my disctrict, shouldn't he know how I feel? I make my feelings known on my blog, http://www.itisobvious.blogspot.com (I'm Thinking of the "O" Word) and through comments left on other blogs.

How can you succeed when so many others (with training, experience and political clout) have failed?

Again, no guarantees. But, since I don't have the clout, I also am not subject to influence by major factors - corporations, money funds, whatever. I am an average working joe - and I think that my outlook on politics is pretty close to what the rest of the working nation is - that this country is not the first concern of the Career Politicians.

There they are. I believe when you have done a good job of answering these then you have something to offer the voting public that will cause them to hear you and consider you. I offer them only to assist you in your bid for the Presidency and not to discourage you.

Like I said before, Thank You - not only for believing in me, but for caring enough to give the feedback you have.

We all (me included) are great Monday morning quarterbacks, but the people who win games go in knowing what it takes to win. Lots of people know what's wrong (or at least think they do) - what "we the people" need is someone who not only has a plan to fix it, but can provide leadership on many levels and draw together not only friends of one's positions but enemies to them. I am unsure that it can be done without being able to understand and use politics to one's advantage - political savvy. Political savvy goes way beyond knowing the rules and the issues and certainly requires considerable experience.

You are absolutely correct - political savvy goes a long way - in the environment that is in place now. But like I asked on the program, Why don't WE THE PEOPLE know what it takes to run this country? Why the secrecy? Why the back-room dealings? Why can't the average concerned citizen step up and take part in the representative republic we call The United States of America? I think it needs to change back to being a government OF the people, BY the people, and most importantly FOR the people.

I'm not familiar with the general format, but I thought you weren't given enough time to make your major points.

I'll let Doug know. I'm sure he'd appreciate the feedback - but it is his show, and he loves to talk. That's why he has the show.

I also think I disagree with you on one fundamental point - once a society accepts law as having a place in that society the only thing that law can do is legislate what actions are acceptable in the legal sense - which is a form of morality. Law cannot by its very nature control one's thinking of murder or theft, but can only hope to curtail such socially unacceptable behavior by enforcement of restrictions and punishments. Crime may not necessarily be a sin, but our legal system is without a doubt based upon a view of the morality portrayed in the Bible.

Good point. There is also the philosophy of "societal legal agreement" - that is, once a set of rules has been agreed upon, with agreed upon consequences if said rules (or laws) have been breeched, then all in that society must abide by the same laws. If authority allows certain segments of the population to ignore the rules, or if a certain segment of the population does not receive the agreed upon punishment for not following the rules, then you have other segments of the population that will start testing which rules are enforced. Once this starts, then the segment of the population that has the moral backbone to continue to follow the rules in spite of them not being enforced will start to get very upset with authority - and either revolution or replacement is the next step.

Ten Commandments Postage Stamp

The request for a stamp honoring the Ten Commandments is once again surfacing. Christians nationwide, allied with an organization called Faith and Action and another called The Christian Defense Coalition, have signed petitions from each of the 50 states.

The last request for a Ten Commandments commemorative stamp was made in 2001, at which time the request was denied because by the Postal Service, deeming it "religious," therefore breeching the idea of the seperation of church and state. Shortly after, the Postal Service Advisory Commission allowed the Postal Service to issue two stamps with Muslim themes in a "blatant example of hypocrisy," as it was called by Roy Moore, the former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Political Correctnes strikes again, allowing the sqeaky wheel to get the grease as the government denies honoring the biblical principles it was founded upon.

Hiram Sasser, attorney from the Liberty Legal Institute, said that it is ". . . perfectly constitutional and legal to have [the Ten Commandments] appear on a postage stamp. Certainly, if that were not true, then the Ten Commandments would have to be removed from various displays at the National Archives or at the U.S. Supreme Court building."

I fear his words may be prophetic, for there exists many factions who desire exactly that, the removal of the Ten Commandments from Federal Buildings, as well as the removal of "In God We Trust" from our money, and "One Nation Under God" from our Pledge of Allegiance.

A Rod, a God, Two Nuts, and a Pedagogue

Yesterday's show with Cary Cartter went well. For those that missed Cary Cartter as my guest on Political Pistachio Radio, the archive is available to be listened to on the media player in the sidebar of this site, or at PPR's BTR Site.

The guest on my radio show the prior Saturday was Lee Culpepper. Also a fantastic guest. However, because certain topics seemed to dominate the show, there was a few more things he wished to say. The following is a post he wrote for this purpose. It's a good read.


Over the Memorial Day weekend, I was honored to be the guest on a radio program called Political Pistachio. The show’s host (Douglas Gibbs) and his wife (“Mrs. Pistachio”) invited me on to discuss several issues facing public education. I shared my inside view regarding two PC agendas polluting public classrooms: multicultural excrement and artificial self-esteem. In nine years of teaching, I saw firsthand how PC programs retarded my students’ critical thinking skills and defiled American cornerstones like competition and self-reliance.

Multiculturalism and tolerance sound pleasant and polite, but their mesmerizing drones have paralyzed students’ ability to think. The staggering number of American students who cannot formulate meaningful arguments based on reason and facts is a serious concern, but why is anyone surprised? Multiculturalism orders students not to make judgments about anything, and tolerance deceives kids into believing that uninformed opinions are just as valid as reasoned arguments.

Considering these issues, the Pistachios and I discussed the appropriateness of teaching moral values in school. Multiculturalism and secularism have all but eliminated America’s moral values from our classrooms, replacing them with harmful ideologies that mystify logic. Such dogmas also aim to discard moral boundaries. In fact, I remember the professor of my diversity class -- the course I was “ordered to tolerate” -- informing me that not committing murder “might be” the only moral value every culture shares. His remark supposedly explained why teaching American moral values in American public schools fails the sensitivity test multiculturalism demands. I can only guess his point was also meant to clarify why teaching American students to embrace foreign beliefs that might conflict with American values is the logical alternative, but I’m too obtuse to grasp such “logic.”

During our discussion of morality and children, parental and societal influence entered the discussion. As an English teacher, I addressed moral issues regularly that pertained to our literature. The example I shared on the show dealt with the duality of man. I often asked students whether man inherently knows right from wrong. I explored deeper by asking whether parents had to teach babies how to be good or how to be bad. Students usually agreed that babies tend to have temper tantrums naturally. They also concluded babies behave selfishly by nature and therefore must learn to share. Babies even smack (punch) and bite on their own. However, the responsibility to correct such behavior lies first with their parents. Parents must teach children what’s right and what’s wrong. Eventually, society's laws and practices also set such examples. The older we get, the more responsibility we have to behave morally and orderly on our own. Bad parents and bad neighborhoods may be mitigating factors, but they don’t excuse immoral or bad behavior. Obviously, without boundaries right and wrong do not exist. This is a concept multiculturalists and secularists understand. They share a freakish fantasy of a world without boundaries. Consequently, they advocate tolerance and shun common sense. In other words, they promote “not thinking.” Occasionally, a clever student asked me, “Well, who decides what’s right and wrong in the first place?” to which I would answer, “That’s something you’ll have to decide.”

“God?” students sometimes asked.

“Sounds like a reasonable guess to me,” I typically answered.

Devoted to disregarding all the multicultural nonsense expected of teachers, I encouraged clear values like honoring parents, having integrity, working hard, being disciplined, and being responsible in my classroom. To develop these values, I worked to teach students self-discipline. My views regarding classroom discipline ignited a lively debate during my interview on Political Pistachio. I shared an example about a new teacher I had worked with in California. She had encountered problems getting apathetic students to do their work. Our department colleagues advised her to call parents and to dock points, but these suggestions had already failed to sway the students. Exasperated by a hesitation to confront a problem directly, I interjected, “Make them do it. Chew their little butts out and try lighting a fire under their [butts]. Make life incredibly uncomfortable if they are not prepared.” Some colleagues stared at me with open mouths, as if I were Conan the Barbarian.

The new teacher explained to me that we shouldn’t hurt students’ feelings or damage their self-esteem. On the contrary, I thought these boys deserved to have their feelings hurt because they were behaving irresponsibly and failing her class. How much self-esteem could they have possibly had? What they needed was a reality check to set them on the path to success.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Pistachio took exception to my advice. She said, “A teacher’s job is to teach,” and I totally agree -- teaching discipline was a key ingredient to my primary responsibility to educate. Without inspiration and discipline, a teacher might as well have a conversation with the chalkboard (something I pretended to do occasionally to humorously recapture wandering teenage minds). Mrs. Pistachio contends that a teacher should notify the parent when a student misbehaves. Like many adults today, she does not support “chewing students out.” However, students who lack discipline interfere with the lesson’s objectives. Leadership requires judgment, and when students misbehave, teachers must react immediately to maintain order, as well as to successfully complete the mission. No, not all misbehavior requires harsh reprimands, but such reprimands have their place. The old maxim "spare the rod, spoil the child" is controversial but compelling. (I suppose it depends on whether we value the wisdom of the God who created us or the wisdom of a secular psychologist who evolved from a monkey.) Loving children makes punishing or disciplining them incredibly difficult. Making a child feel bad does not make responsible adults feel good. However, parents cannot afford to shirk their obligation to discipline their children. Parenting and teaching are both about leading, and leading is TOUGH – it’s fun only if we are succeeding. It’s not a popularity contest either. Tough love is hard to master, but hard lessons are usually great lessons. Overcoming a challenge is healthy for everyone, especially children. It prepares them for life. Leaders don't discipline harshly for jollies; it is done in the child's best interest to help them develop properly. Nurturing children at the wrong time only fosters undesirable behavior. Furthermore, to expect a teacher to call a parent during class when the problem is occurring is simply silly -- and I don't think that's what Mrs. Pistachio meant, but it is what she basically said – “to call her if there is a problem.” However, I do have a friend who sometimes called parents during class while their child was sleeping in front of him. He did claim those kids rarely went back to sleep. But I preferred to have sleepy students stand – I wasted less time making a phone call and had more time to teach.

I hope Mrs. Pistachio’s opinion of my brand of teaching will change. The success I had teaching was rooted in parents supporting just how badly I wanted their children to succeed. The common sense of a great American, Thomas Paine, helped parents appreciate and backup my approach: “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” The quote exudes American moral values, not politically correct excrement. I pray all parents will think about which philosophy is best for their children.

Good News all the way around

My son came home a couple hours after his surgery where his doctor removed a right testicular cancer. A six inch incision was made on his lower right abdomen, as well as an incision all the way around the scrotum. When Chris came home he felt pretty good, but mainly because the local hadn't worn off any. A couple hours later, it wore off, and the pain set in.

On December 29th of 2006 I had a double hernia operation to repair holes in the muscle in my stomach tissue. One of those holes was 9cm X 14cm. The pain for the first four days was horrendous. It took a few weeks before I was functioning normally. Christopher's incision is 6 inches long. As I told him, this will be a tough ride, but storms in our life such as this builds character.

Here's the good news: no cancer was found between the tumor and the abdomen. A CT Scan on Wednesday will make sure the cancer hasn't gone into his lymphatic system, but as it stands, the cancer remained in the mass which was removed yesterday. The pain may be intense, but this horrendous surgery saved his life. Like with anything in life, doing what you need to do to solve a problem is often not the easiest road, but in the long run the suffering is less.

The war on terror is similar, I suppose. Like surgery, war is not desireable, but sometimes necessary to keep something from getting worse in the long run. Criticism of this war on terror, particularly regarding the battlefield in Iraq, has been steadily provided by the Democrats and the mainstream media. Now, however, as a result of our involvement with taking the war to the enemy, rather than waiting for the next terror attack against the United States, is providing dividends.Through the heroic efforts of American Troops abroad, a call for ceasefire in Iraq from Muslim Nations is going out - because they realize that America will not back down. As we are hitting Islamic militants in Somalia, Lebanon is pounding Al Qaeda in their own country, because this terror group's production of terror is unacceptable to freedom loving people. Riots in Venezuela by citizens demanding freedom ae erupting. Iraqi citizens are calling on U.S. troops to secure their neighborhoods.

The mainstream media fail to tell you the positive stories of the conflict in Iraq. Rather than tell you how well it is going in the country, they would rather key in on an IED killing troops, or violence erupting in a neighborhood between insurgents. Don't get me wrong, those stories are important too, but are actually a minority when it comes to what is going on in Iraq.

Today news of a plot against New York's JFK airport foiled by the FBI came to light. Because we have not allowed the Liberals to completely tie the hands of our security forces and intelligence community, such good news still rises.
We are winning this war on terror - despite what defeatist elitists like Reid says.

Cancer, A Call for a Cease-fire in Iraq, A Lawyer with TB

You know, I have had a few friends ask me how is it that with all of this stress I seem to be enduring regarding my son's cancer I can still continue to write on my blogs. Honestly, the idea that my son, my child, my flesh and blood that was bouncing on my knee, it seems, not too long ago, has a dreaded disease that could end his life, has been very taxing. However, writing calms me down. Writing is what I do. Today, at around noon, Christopher is going under the knife. The doctors will be going in through his abdomen to remove his testicular cancer, taking with the testicle all points in between that may be infected with the disease. While in his abdomen, they will then determine by visual inspection if the cancer has spread into his abdomen by way of his lymphatic system, or by any other means. The surgery should last about an hour. Thank you for your prayers. Your support has been greatly appreciated.

Now, a couple of stories in the news, today, caught my attention. One of them is that Egypt is calling for a cease-fire in Iraq.

According to the Associated Press, Egypt desires an international conference on Iraq to call for a three-month cease-fire between Iraqi forces and insurgents, according to a draft resolution. Iraq strongly objected to the idea on Monday.

My first thought was, "Why would a Muslim country ask for a cease-fire?" Secondly, I thought, "Do they lump American presence into their definition of Iraqi Forces?"

Other problems arise through this as well, because in Islam the Shiites and Sunnis are completely different camps. They are as different from each other as the Kurds are from both of those groups. Some nations in the region are controlled by a Shiite majority, some by Sunnis. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Sunnis are the ones more prone to radical violence, though it seems such a tendency runs amok through all of Islam. Anyhow, this call for a cease-fire is just another clue that there is growing division between Iraq and its Arab neighbors. As the Associated Press states in their article: "It implicitly treats the Shiite-led Iraqi government and the Sunni-led insurgency as equals."

Egypt is trying to unite the countries in the region to stabilize Iraq, according to news sources. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is supposed to be present at the meetings, along with officials from Iran, Russia, China, Europe and a whole score of Arab nations.

Arab nations have made it clear that they desire the Iraqi government to make strides toward incorporating the Sunnis into the government and military, including changing the constitution and ending the system for purging former members of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party.

Iraq's Shiites and Kurds have long viewed Sunni-led Arab governments as favoring Iraqi Sunnis and sympathetic to the insurgency.

The Egyptian proposal calls for "all parties to implement a cease-fire for an initial period of three months to allow for a conducive environment to help foster the political process and national accord."

Like the insurgents are going to abide by such a resolution.

Syria is pressing for the agreement to also include a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Now we must ask ourselves, why are the Islamic Nations of the region desiring a cease-fire, and a timetable for American Troop withdrawal?

The obvious answer in my mind is that now that their biggest ally, the Democrats, have caved, and the troops were funded "without" a timetable for withdrawal, they are realizing that they are losing. Just the fact that Syria, the driving force behind Palestinian terror groups like Hezbollah, desires a timetable for withdrawal should be reason enough to not have one. They are worried. They are truly realizing that the United States is in this for the long-haul, and that the American People and the conservatives in government won't allow the liberal left to tuck America's tail between her legs and run away. It is now that we should become stronger in our resolve, and not give an inch. The ball is in their court. Our national security depends upon it.

Speaking of National Security, it seems that a Lawyer from Atlanta, Georgia has been traipsing around the world with a dangerous strain of tuberculosis. After being told not to fly anywhere, he hopped planes through Europe, then into Canada, and then snuck back into the United States in a car through the Canadian Border.

On top of that the dude is a personal injury lawyer.

The argument that he could use, or may have used, falls short of common sense. If you have any sense of common decency and sense of humanity you don't go around risking everyone around you exposure to this disease.

He is a great example of what this society has become. The man is so selfish that he was willing to put other people's lives at risk.

But here is what is really bothering me. In a post on January 22 of this year in the second paragraph I stated that disease is coming across our border with Mexico. The very security of Americans depends upon our nation to protect us from deadly disease, in addition to terrorism and the like. But this lawyer, who knew he was doing the wrong thing (first, because he's a lawyer, he should have known better, and second, his purposeful disregard for what is right was characterized by the fact that he "snuck" back into the U.S.) is a perfect example of how easy it is for disease, and God knows what else (can anyone say WMD?) is crossing our borders.

Now, if this isn't a good reason to return to vigorous health screening, and tighten the security at our borders, I don't know what is.

Hillary Clinton Proves She Worships Socialism - Take a Lesson from Venezuela, France, Germany, and failed Socialistic Societies, for God's Sake!

Children have a tendency of complaining all the time "That isn't fair!" The usual response from the parent is "Life isn't fair, my dear."

Socialism has asked the question many times, "What if we can make it fair."

Remember that old saying? "You may be able to make some of the people happy some of the time, but you'll never be able to make everybody happy all of the time."

The Liberal Left begs to differ. Proof?

Hillary's mouth.

Hillary has something she calls "income inequality," which is far from fair, as far as she is concerned. Her exact words are, "It's time to replace an 'on your own' society with a 'we're all in it together' society. I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

Special privileges? So instead you'd rather penalize folks for reaching the American Dream? This "on you own" society she refers to, in my book, is best called "self-reliance." I suppose she believes the Democrats are a bunch of Robin Hoods, and that it is their job to narrow the gap between the haves and the have-nots.

In other words, penalize those that worked their asses off to succeed; and pass on all of that pirate booty to those that lack vision and would rather subsist sitting on their butts and collecting government handouts. There is a name for such a system. It's called Socialism.

Then there's the Fairness Doctrine she likes so much, which in my opinion is a direct attempt to silence conservative talk radio.

Hey, Hillary! Check out what's going on in Venezuela!

A television station that has been critical of Hugo Chavez has been replaced by a Hugo-friendly state-funded channel (to obviously shut up the voice of dissent). The people began rioting over it, demanding freedom of speech and press. Hugo Chavez's answer? He targets a second TV station, and the riots have increased.

I am hoping for a coup.

Time will tell.

People, when they lose their liberty, will fight for it back - because the true "fairness" in life is the ability to be self-reliant. Socialism is a failed system. Just ask Europe.

And remember, Germany and France has recently elected Conservatives hoping to turn around their devastated socialistic economies - and past socialistic societies like the USSR have fallen, and Cuba's is seriously struggling. Socialism is a failed system. Competition, free commerce, and liberty is what people will always strive for.

Quagmire

Long ago, oh, about seven months ago, Jenn on My Point Radio chastised me (okay, maybe "chastised" is a harsh word, but you get the picture)for using the word "quagmire" in the first chapter of my book, "The Way of Deception". She cringed at the word, as if it belonged in a new category of profanity. What, I wondered, made her recoil as such from that word? At the time I figured it was that the word was a cliche to her, so I promptly followed her advice and struck that horrendous word from the book, and banished it from my vocabulary.

Over the course of the following seven months the word popped up regularly in conversation and on the evening news. Fascinatingly, it wasn't I that was uttering the now forsaken word, either. It was the Liberal Left. Every time I got into conversation with someone vehemently against the war in Iraq the word "quagmire" seemed to make its way into the conversation. Well, they would utter either "quagmire", or "catch-22".

For those that are not familiar with the term "catch-22" it was familiarized by writer Joseph Heller in his novel by the same name. Like "quagmire" the word basically means that in whatever direction you go to solve a situation, you are essentially screwed.

So, Jenn's aversion to "quagmire," I have finally realized, may have something to do with the Left's sudden love of using the word when referring to the battleground in Iraq.

But the true quagmire, in my opinion, is not the war in Iraq. Surely, if certain conditions were to take place, particularly in direct relation to the cells that are currently causing the violence that is now going on in that region, Victory would be attained sooner, rather than later. However, the true quagmire that currently exists is not one created and nurtured by George W. Bush in Iraq, as the members of the Liberal Left would have you believe, but one that they have created and nurtured themselves. This quagmire that the Liberal Left is using simply says that no matter what happens in the world, especially in reference to the War on Terror, that seems to be negative, is automatically Bush's fault, and anything positive that may occur is to remain simply unmentioned.

This liberally fed quagmire dictates that if ever there is another terrorist attack on America it is W's (and the conservative right's) fault for whatever happened. They will point out what they claim to be Bush's incompetence as a Commander in Chief, characterized by what they believe to be his reckless policies in Iraq. After all, in the liberal mind, terrorists would never dream of attacking us (again) if we had never gone into the Middle East with as much as a smirk on our faces. If we are attacked again they will also pull out of their hat "I thought the War in Iraq would keep them from attacking us, hmmmmm?" And if there's another attack involving airplanes, well they would accuse the Right of knowing about it ahead of time and claim that Bush did not do enough to avoid the attack. And if we are not attacked again, which I believe to be unlikely, then Bush wold be at fault for forcing Americans to lose Civil Liberties to guard us against an enemy that was never going to attack us in the first place.

And the Liberal Left will never let go of this quagmire, no matter what happens, because their campaign of blaming Bush for everything has worked so well in removing the possibility of any blame directed at them. The New York Times is off the hook for revealing sensitive government secrets, and CBS is off the hook for allowing Dan Rather to use falsified documents as evidence to propagate the liberal agenda against Bush. Heck, even the ACLU, in the minds of liberals, is off the hook for assisting the enemy, as well as is Cindy Sheehan (who suddenly decided she wants to be normal, LOL), Danny Glover and Michael Moore off the hook for consorting with the enemy. And Pelosi and Reid and all of the other far left Democrats are off the hook for attempting to undermine the United States Military and for their other treasonous activities. Why? Because everything is Bush's fault.

Heck, this blaming Bush for everything wrong propaganda campaign has worked so well that now they are using the same tactics when it comes to Global Warming. Whatever it is, if it pertains to weather or the planet, and if it's negative, it's the fault of Global Warming.

There is no argument you can use to convince them otherwise, and if you try to convince them otherwise, they will peg you as a narrow-minded heretic who has no compassion for the children, or our posterity.

In the end, the Liberal Left has decided that George W. Bush is worse than the terrorists, and that Al Gore is wiser than any scientist that disagrees with him.

Now that is what I call a "Quagmire."

My son, Christopher, as many of you now know, has testicular cancer. Today I spent the entire day with him at the hospital going through tests and seeing his urologist. Today they advised us that this coming Friday, June 1st, they will perform the surgery to remove the cancerous mass. Your prayers have been so appreciated, and the e-mail and comment response has been wonderful. Thank you, my friends.

United States Marine Corps Memorial Day

Some Gave All

I stood there gazing down at my grandfather's grave, recently. My mother and I stopped by his grave as she drove me home from the hospital that my son was at that day. He is just a young man of 22 years, and he is battling cancer. On Tuesday he will be back in the hospital, hopefully to commence the procedure that will finally remove this cancer from his body.

My grandfather served in the Army-Air Forces during World War II as an M.P. in France. I can still remember his stories from my childhood about the war. Granted, some of the stories were not necessarily the God's honest truth, like the one about him punching Hitler in the nose, but that was the kind of man he was. He joked around when inside he hurt a little. He passed away a few years ago. His body is at rest at the Riverside National Cemetery in California. His soul rests with God. His honor resides in my memories of him.
My dad served in Vietnam. He was a helicopter door gunner with the United States Marine Corps. He doesn't talk about his military days much, though sometimes you'll catch him say a thing or two about his service. Most of the time when he speaks of his time in Vietnam it's not about the fighting he was a part of, or the carnage he saw. If he speaks of his time in the service at all it is usually about his friends he had in Vietnam and at Camp Pendleton, and how they looked out for each other while he was there in Vietnam. He also talks, sometimes, about what it was like when he returned from overseas. There was no thank you. There was no parade. He took a taxi from the airport, sat down on his mom's couch, and switched on the television. On that black and white screen flashed images of the place he had just been hours before. It was surreal to him, knowing that he still had friends over there in Vietnam. His sister noticed he was home after a while, screamed to the family about his arrival, and at that point he received the only true welcome home celebration he would get. He has told me that he didn't regret fighting, but it still bothers him to this day that Americans had turned away from the soldiers, and he never really received a "Welcome Home, thanks for your service." Last year I met a couple writers at a Military Writers Society of America function. One was the widow of a Navy Corpsman from the Vietnam War, another a Vietnamese orphan that had been pulled from the region as we departed in 1975, and adopted by American parents. Both of them, after me telling them about my dad, gave me their books for free, and autographed them to my dad, thanking him for his service and welcoming him home. When I gave the books to him for his birthday a week later, and I opened them up so that he could read what had been written in them, he didn't cry, but I could see in his eyes that he wanted to.

When I entered the United States Navy and stepped off the bus at bootcamp in Orlando, Florida in 1984 I was frightened. I wondered if my dad and grandpa felt the same way when they first stepped into the barracks that would be their home for the next few grueling weeks. I reasoned that they were probably much more frightened as young men, because unlike me after they graduated bootcamp they were sent off to war. As the heat from the Florida sun during the hottest part of summer beat down on me during my marches and push-ups on the asphalt grinder, I imagined them beside me, doing the push ups with me, cheering me on. Then, when I stepped across the quarterdeck of the USS Chandler, DDG-996 at NAS North Island in San Diego after completing my bootcamp and "A" School, I suddenly realized their pride and honor. I was humbled by the experiences I had endured, and of what lay ahead. I turned to those ghosts of memories beside me and I thanked them. Not only for their service, but for their sacrifice and their honor and their courage. I don't know if I have ever actually told my dad and my grandfather to their face before, though I believe I have, "Thank you." But it was then, in my uniform, saluting the Officer of the Deck as he granted me permission to come aboard that in my soul I thanked them, and I hurt for what they had to go through. I thanked them with tears welling up in my eyes because it was their sacrifices that made it possible for me to place myself in the same shoes on that quarterdeck. It was their sacrifices that allowed the people out there across the country to live free lives in the greatest nation in the world. It was their sacrifice, and all of the men and women before them and after them that enabled me to decide what I wished to do next, without worrying about whether or not the government would come down on me for it.

And now I watch those protesters that cry out against this Global War on Terror, and I forgive them. I don't forgive them because I condone their actions, or because I feel pity for them. I forgive them because they don't realize what they are doing. I forgive them because they don't understand the necessity of fighting for freedom, and fighting to maintain that freedom. I forgive them because the honor I hold inside as an American directs me to.

On this Memorial Day, 2007, I thank my fellow Americans that are out there fighting to preserve our liberty and keep this nation safe. I value your sacrifice, and I pray that you will come home safely. And if you perish during the fight, I pray for your family, and I thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice for your fellow Americans. And above all, on this Memorial Day, I remember you. I remember your service, and I remember the lives that have been lost not only on the battlefield, but also the Americans that perished on September 11, 2001, and in all of the other instances where those that love freedom were snuffed out by a sinister enemy.

I Remember You, and I Thank You.

As we approach Memorial Day let us remember our troops.

Stemming the bleeding, and responding to idiocy

Two liberal trolls have frequented my site in the past, and now that they (for the most part) do not disrupt my blog anymore, their influence is still felt. I promised I wouldn't write about their inane blabberings anymore, since that is akin to feeding their neurosis, but one of them has really tipped the scales with heavy loads of B.S.

The video above was sent to me by a certain pussycat. She, I truly believe, deep down, means well, but has been so indoctrinated by the secular progressive wave that now sweeps our planet that she has lost her way.

Just an opinion.

The video is pleasant to watch. It gives me yearnings for the past, on how things once were. Innocence was a good thing, back then. Today it is scorned. It is better to see if the shoe fits, than to hold out and save yourself for love. Doing the right thing based on one's moral values was encouraged. World War II was still a recent memory and America was loved by its citizens. Now, pushing the envelope is the norm, seeing how much one can get away with. Christian values have become the enemy. Right is becoming wrong, and wrong becoming right.

Along the way from the age depicted in the above video, a little skirmish we know as the Vietnam War came along. France couldn't handle the conflict any longer, and handed it off to the United States of America. We, being the freedom loving beacon and defenders of liberty that we were, perhaps a little confident from our involvement in World War II, but a little wiser from Korea, decided to participate in Vietnam for the reason quoted by the veterans I know from that war to stop the commies from enslaving the peoples of South Vietnam. How hard could it be? Dig a few trenches, shoot a few North Vietnamese, and just the fear of the United States being present will win it. Right?

Trench warfare was a thing of the past. This enemy hid among the civilians, and used guerrilla warfare against us, making the war a little more difficult to fight. Then, a little thing called politics got involved. Fear of Soviet and Chinese retaliation forced our politicians into deciding that this should be a war fought on defense. Defend South Vietnam. Yeah, that was the ticket. Don't be offensive, just defend.

For those of you that play chess, you know that the best way to win the game is to have a good defense, but to be constantly on the offense, attacking often. To win a war a nation must go in to win it. And, this war was like nothing we had ever seen before. The enemy blended with the population and blended into the landscape. To be honest, to our surprise, they refused to play by the rules.

As the war lengthened, certain groups stateside began to protest against it, and for good reason. Due to our desire to remain on defense, the war was being drawn out, and our men were dying without accomplishing much. Also, the conflict in Vietnam became more politicized, to the point that in the end we wound up withdrawing with our tails between our legs. Worse of all, there were certain Americans that cheered our undeclared defeat. Fact is, we didn't lose it militarily. We lost that conflict politically.

Now, here we are in Iraq, and the Bush Administration, recognizing that Iraq was a large part of the al Qaeda network and a significant "behind the scenes" part of the attack on the United States on September 11, 2001, decided to expand the theater of War on Terrorism to Iraq. Mind you, the war is not against the Iraqi people, but against the elements in that nation that supports groups like al Qaeda that desire to see America burned to the ground. And as in Vietnam, due to the uproar of world opinion in certain locales, and due to the moanings and groanings of the hippies left over from Vietnam, this war has lost its military aspects and has become a political beast.

A war cannot be won if it isn't being fought to be won.

This brings up my second liberal friend, Tom. Now he has been banned from Political Pistachio twice, and I asked him nicely with an e-mail to abide by that ban. He has reminded me that due to his "expertise" he is able to overcome any ban I place on him (which may or may not be true) but that he only commented because what I was saying on my blog to him was so preposterous that he couldn't withstand the temptation to begin commenting again. Then he launched a tirade on his own blog about me (and he writes about me often), but the recent one was so vicious and such a misrepresentation of what I say I just had to respond. Thank you SkydiveRick for advising me of Tom's rants about me on his blog.

I believe that our troops are being handcuffed by Bush. The President has become so worried about public opinion and political correctness that he has changed the campaign in Iraq from a military effort to a political game of Twister. In one of my posts I used the words "turn the desert sand into glass" which is an obvious reference to nuclear weapons. Well, when I said that, Tom went nuts. In fact, his exact words are that I am certifiably insane. He then put up a statistic, and was quick to show a source, that 18% of Americans believe that the U.S. should use nuclear weapons even if it has not suffered a nuclear attack.

Do I wish that we vaporize hundreds of thousands of ordinary people? Of course not. I don't know if we should consider such an action, but if it became necessary to protect our own nation, use of nuclear weapons may be an option. Though the dropping of atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima killed many people, many more people in the long run were spared because the war was shortened by the bombing. The willingness to use atomic bombs on Japan forced them into surrendering.

However, such an action may not have the same results in this situation, because this enemy follows no rules, and will never surrender.

How easy we forget who we are fighting against. The Islamofascists will not stop when they believe they have enough land or when Israel is finally destroyed. Their goal is the world domination of Islam. They have said so themselves. Do you not believe them? We never believed that they would fly planes into our buildings in New York and into our Pentagon, either. Boy, were we wrong. Let's not be wrong again.

Tom, obsessed with me and my statements, also found a comment I made over at Rightwing Guy's site (and the reason he hasn't returned yet, Tom, is because he is still in training - in the military) where I said "World War III will be fought in the streets - Urban Guerrilla Warfare Style - of the United States. God Help Us."

Tom's response to that was that he thought I was crazy (he seems to use the words crazy, insane, and nuts often when referring to me) that I thought that Islamofascism would organize a Normandy-style invasion of America.

That is not what I said, Tom. I believe that an attack of that nature could happen from within. The enemy is already here. Did you not read about the Islamic training compound found in upstate New York? Read the book Magog 1982 Canceled about an attempt at that very style of warfare. However, the enemy may not have to resort to such military tactics. Why attack us militarily when they can simply change us from within as they are now? Thanks to liberal thinking, we bend over backwards to accommodate Muslims. You cry for separation of Church and State, Tom, but why is it that separation of Church and State does not apply to Islam? Why is it that schools are now accommodating them with prayer rugs and foot washing stations? Yet, if the Christian God is mentioned in the classroom it is the ultimate breach.

Christian Values is another hot topic with Tom. In fact, he believes that my statement that America was founded on Christian values is a complete lie and the rantings of the clinically insane.

People came to America from all over Europe (and eventually from all over the world) seeking primarily freedom of religion. Granted, in the beginning, copying what was pushed upon them in England, each of the colonies had "state" religions. Human nature sometimes does such things. The idea of freedom of religion was that anyone could practice their religion anywhere in this land. The government had no right to tell anyone what religion they must follow, and any particular religion (as did the Church of England in England) could not dictate to government what government must do based on religious belief. In short, based on this, I have never proclaimed that I believe our nation should be a theocracy. However, the images of Moses and the Ten Commandments are on our courthouses for a reason. Our very laws are based on Christian Moral Values. That cannot be denied. Christianity as a whole, mind you, not any of its individual religions (and dealing with the different sects of Christianity, none of which I am a member of, is a whole new discussion).

Thomas Jefferson, a theist, but not a Christian in any way, believed that people should have the right to follow the religion of their choice, and that the government had no right to control such practice. This is what spurned him to write the letter to the Danbury Baptist Congregational Conference in 1802, in response to their letter to him in 1801. This is where the words "separation of church and state" were first used. These words are not in the constitution, but many believe that the letter is an explanation of the first amendment. Anyway, if you read it carefully, it explains that government should be prohibited from any aid or endorsement to any religion. It does not mean that government should turn its back of the values used to help create this governmental system. You would think that being so absolute would be above the liberals, but unfortunately, that is what they are best at.

The rallying cry throughout World War II was "Remember Pearl Harbor." The memory of such an atrocious act against America kept us moving forward. We wound up fighting Germany and Italy as well, even though they were not technically a part of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We fought knowing that the security of our nation lay in the balance.

"Remember 9/11" has been forgotten. And this enemy we face is nothing like those of the past. They will follow us home if we let up in the fight. They will strike us here again, as they did on 9/11. Our war in their faces has held them back, for now. They may still strike us, even with us fighting them in the Middle East. Anything is possible, and I dare not underestimate this ruthless enemy. But this war in Iraq, which is nothing more than a battle that is part of the larger Global War on Terror, is for our security. Have we forgotten what happened in 2001 when they flew planes into the World Trade Center?

Another gripe of Tom's is my lack of sourcing. Most of what I talk about is common knowledge, or at least I thought so. What I say is my opinion. Do you want sources for my own opinion? Must I seek the approval of the internet for what I believe? Must a poll somewhere agree with me when I say that I believe our troops are handcuffed and need to be able to fight this war as a war ought to be fought? My thoughts and beliefs are mine. Every once in a while I will use a source when I deem necessary, but this is not science class or a term paper where all sources must be cited. This is my opinion and I will present it as I please. Don't like it? Don't read it.

Oh, and another misrepresentation of what I have said must be addressed. I stated in a recent post regarding my experience with the county health system regarding my son's recently diagnosed cancer (and I had to use this system once before with my wife at a time when we were caught without insurance for ourselves) that the system was set up for situations like my son's where the person is doing whatever they can to secure insurance, but the timing of the situation that arose placed him at the mercy of the state system; not for people who make a living of it and take advantage of the system with abuse after abuse. I said specifically "thanks to abuse of the system by some, and the overuse of the system by illegal aliens". . . and Tom responded with a thing about illegals not being able to apply for Medi-Cal or any other state program.

This is where you truly show you are not all there, Tom. I said the system was overrun by them, not that they qualify for such aid. In other words, so many illegals use the county hospitals and do not pay a cent, making the state programs and hospitals pay for the care, putting a squeeze on funds. My dad works for a hospital and is fully aware of how many illegals clog the system. You want sources? Read this one about the closure of 84 hospitals in California because of bankruptcy brought on specifically by illegal aliens clogging the system and receiving "free" care - and this, in turn, screws Americans who have the birth right for care!

In short, we disagree greatly on just about everything. Does that make me certifiably insane? You are a typical liberal. That is the response often. If you don't agree with the mentally unstable rantings of liberalism you are an insane heretical narrow-minded so-and-so. You make your points, I make mine. I make my points on my blog, you make yours on your blog. As tempted as I am to comment on your site, I don't because that is your house, and I am not an invited guest. Liberals like yourself are the guests. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing and though I believe that you are dead-wrong, you have a right to believe and write what you may, just as I do. But think about it. Is it really wise to be on the field of battle against a ruthless enemy, then tell them you wish to quit, what the date is, and then walk away? Would that be truly wise? Bush is not all things to me. I disagree with him on a lot of things, but I will never disagree with defending this nation, securing this nation, and protecting this nation. I believe that Islamofascism is a viable enemy and must be dealt with directly. I do not believe we should sit on our hands with good intentions and wait for the next attack here in America, and then when another 9/11 style attack happens blame American policies for it. The Islamic ideology hates anything not Muslim, and wishes to stomp all over your "separation of church and state" and fuse government and their religion together at the White House. They will stop at nothing to try and accomplish this. Is it possible they can succeed? I don't know, but why give them a red carpet to try?

As for your statement that a "strong and secular America will never be subject to any foreign power", you are wrong. We are already becoming subject to two foreign powers through the bending over backwards to Islam and the bleeding of our border.

Oh, and in your "Asshat" comment about me, your reference to my manhood was unwarranted, and such statements regarding the length of a penis is normally uttered by those that suffer from such a shortness of manhood themselves. I am sorry for your affliction. Perhaps, despite your problem of shortness, you will find a woman (or maybe a man, in your case) that accepts you and your little problem.

Liberalism is not the way back to the wonders of life that we enjoyed as depicted in the above video, that is for sure. Liberalism is a one way ticket to enslavement, Government control, and a complete loss of individual self-reliance.

I, for one, am willing to defend my right to self-reliance and liberty. Are you?

According to a Fox News alert today there is evidence that the United Nations is feeding anti-American propaganda to North Korea. More on this when I receive the details - but really, what's so new about this? The Democrats and Secular Progressive Liberal Marxists cry that we went to war without the United Nation's blessing, but give me a break, do we really want the blessing of an organization that has proven over and over that our best interests are not their best interests, and that they are willing to do whatever it takes to undermine us?

We need to pull out of the United Nations, and we need to do it now. We are alone in our fight for sanity and freedom. The world is going to hell in a hand basket (don't get me wrong, we have many allies still, but the list is dwindling as the disease of socialism and Islam sweeps across the world), and we are blindly claiming to be friends with those holding knives pointed at our backs!

Oh, and in related news regarding traitors and haters of America, Rosie O'Donnell, apparently getting pissy because Elisabeth Hasselbeck put her in her place, is quitting The View early, rather than wait out that remaining three weeks that remains in her contract.

Apparently Wednesday's brawl was too much even for Rosie.

Elisabeth shrugged it off. Hasselbeck is truly a strong woman, able to deal with Rosie's neurosis for so long.

Unfortunately, as Jenn commented on the last article, the sad thing is the argument has smothered the fact that Rosie called our troops terrorists.

What? Did a liberal somewhere out there reading my blog just murmur that Rosie didn't call the troops terrorists?

Listen, goofball, whoever that liberal murmurer is, you unpatriotic America-hating Marxists constantly call Bush a terrorist, and the troops are performing their duties as instructed by the Commander in Cheif, so if you call Bush a terrorist, you are calling our brave men and women fighting this war terrorists too!

And I understand your socialistic liberty-killing agenda all too well! You wish to change America, and the liberal agenda is not happy just doing it through us adults, but through our children too.

Shadows bearing a Liberal Agenda

I sat down to write tonight's post hours ago. It is only now that the words finally came to me. The wheels in my head began turning last night when a fellow blogger told me that he can't buy into certain "conspiracy theories" that seem to revolve around the Council of Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. I agree, to a point. But we have a group that makes even these conspiratorial organizations seem like small bananas to worry about. The group now pushing a hidden agenda (that's not so hidden) is the liberal elites.

No, I don't believe that they are necessarily sitting around in dark corners and planning strategies to bring down America, per se, but I don't believe they have to. It comes naturally to them.

It is amazing how intolerant those "tolerant" liberals truly are against anyone willing to disagree with them, or anyone of Christian Faith. Liberals, or "progressives" as they like to call themselves (though I don't find them very progressive at all - if anything, they are pulling us into the inner-sanctum of Hell), are fueled by the educated professors of American Universities, the media elite (such as CNN, MSNBC, and the major networks), and Hollyweird who are big and powerful and perfectly happy to be dead-set against the big and the powerful. They abhor large business, they can't stand people that believe they are actually (imagine this?) smart enough to run their own lives through self-reliance, and they won't debate because Conservative America, in their eyes, is just too narrow minded to understand "enlightenment" and the "evolution" of society.

Or maybe it's because their debating ideals don't have a leg to stand on.

A large part of the Liberal Machine, after they realized that standing by the President may be harmful to their desire to take over the White House in 2008, couldn't wait to blame America for what happened on 9/11. Many of them truly believe that the cause of terror against our fine nation is the "fascism of the United States' foreign policy over the past decades." A fringe group of liberalism (that is now slowly convincing the rest of the lefty dimwits of this) actually began to preach that the attack on 9/11 was an "inside job" planned and executed by the Bush Administration so that there would be a good reason to go to war for oil!

Well, if it was for oil, seems to be working really well. How much are you paying at the pump? Three and a half bucks? Hmmmmm.

A friend of mine was saddened to see at a rock concert, even, that the American Flag was displayed upside down. These people truly believe that America stands for jingoism and vengeance and war.

And they don't understand that the War on Terror is larger than their feeble minds can realize. Iraq is not "the" war, but merely a battle in a war that will probably spread into surrounding nations, including Iran.

And it isn't really about war, or Islam, or oil. It is all about security. It is all about fighting an enemy that would be happy to bring the war back to the U.S. if given the chance (and may still hit us despite our efforts overseas, thanks to the defeatist attitude of our Congress which has emboldened the enemy).

And now idiots like Michael Moore and Danny Glover are rubbing elbows with other members of the enemy axis. That's right, Michael Moore (in his documentary on health care called "Sicko") states that Castro's Cuba has the best health care system in the world, and Danny Glover just received millions from Chavez of Venezuela to film his next movie.

And if you ask them about that 2000 Election (You know, the one where Gore and "chads" dominated the papers) liberals will tell you straight out that Bush "stole" that election.

Hey, idiots, this is America. It wasn't stolen. The American People voted Bush in. Narrow margin, but Bush won (a lesson to those of you that don't vote because you don't think your vote counts - if you and a few other conservative friends had voted, it wouldn't have been so close).

The Democratic Party has become dark and cynical, and though they are not hiding in the shadows planning the downfall of America, they actually are planning our fall in the shadows of their minds.

It is almost as if, since the first appearance of this lunacy called liberalism during Vietnam, the Democratic Liberal Party is suffering from some kind of mental disease.

A loyal reader and listener to Political Pistachio Radio, Phil, sent me an e-mail that explained some of the madness. The article he sent me explains that Democracy is doomed to fail. It is a temporary form of government. It states that a democracy will exist up to the time that voters realize that they can vote themselves generous gifts (hand-outs) from the public treasury. From that moment on the candidates promising the most gifts begins to win the votes, resulting in collapse due to a loose fiscal policy, which is followed by a dictatorship (and of course we know that socialism like the liberals desire can only be enforced by a stiffly controlled central government). The average age of the world's greatest democratic civilizations is about 200 years. During that time period the sequence goes as follows:

From bondage to spiritual faith (In America from religious bondage in England to Freedom of Religion here in America - and for those idiot liberals that try to convince me that America was founded on Secular ideals, even my daughter's history book admits that the Pilgrims primary reason for coming here was in search of religious freedom - hence the separation of church and state that Jefferson referred to, meaning that Government shall not control Religion or how we worship).

Then from spiritual faith to great courage (The early American Revolutionaries were courageous to say the least)

Then from courage to liberty.

Then from liberty to abundance.

Then from abundance to complacency.

Then from complacency to apathy (which is about where we are right now).

Then from apathy to dependence.

Then from dependence back into bondage.

And the liberal secular progressives are steering us in that direction in a rapid fire way.

And to give you an idea about who the people that want handouts vote for, Check this out. In the 2000 election Bush won in the areas of the nation where most of the land is owned by taxpaying citizens. Gore's voters were primarily from government-owned tenements and living off of various forms of government welfare.

Multi-culturalism is sending us into a dependency phase that believes in equal wealth distribution and equal treatment of all even if it means squashing anyone that opposes such a direction to achieve it.

And those that support this type of change to America have no problem with watching our fine nation vanish, becoming just another borderless province in a global environment. Funny thing is that as this is happening, a violent spiritual faith has their eyes on our destruction. Our very security depends on us remaining strong and a united nation. What the liberals desire is opening us up to being overrun by not only their agenda, but the agenda of Islamofascism, which in turn will eliminate the freedoms to practice the very things that the Left holds so dear (such as the freedom to speak freely, the freedom to question government, freedom of religion, freedom to have an abortion, freedom to be gay, etc.). They say that Christianity is the larger threat, but it is the Christians and conservatives and patriotic Americans that are fighting to keep us from dropping into a mode of dependency and defeat and loss of freedoms.

Fact is, in the end, the liberal secular progressive left has no desire to champion what is best for this country. They believe the U.S.A. is flawed, and to blame for the world's ills. They believe that the United States of America must be changed, and that what has worked for over 200 years is a flawed system. To push their point they are now rewriting history, claiming that America was founded on secular values and never had any intention to become what it is today.

But you and I are too smart to fall for that bull. That is why they began to lay off of us years ago, and began concentrating on our children. That's right, the indoctrination of our children in a fashion not much different than how the Nazi's did it, or the Soviets did it, is in full force. This Saturday my guest is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a school teacher that recognizes as I do the indoctrination that is going on in our public school system.
