Hard Starboard Radio: A Week Of JASmius On KCAA

I don't form expectations about the frequency of guest-hosting gigs, because that's not my call, and I am simply honored and grateful to be Mr. Gibbs' understudy. But if you'd told me after sitting in three out of four weeks during the 2013 "holiday season" that I wouldn't see the Pistachio's center seat again for almost a year, especially given the host's frantic schedule, I'd have started shopping for a different deodorant. But then I hadn't heard of G.R. Mobley yet. Blessedly, that was only a temporary displacement.

Yes, I know, "what about two weeks ago"? Answer: It was the odd one out. Besides, it ought to still be fresh in your corpus callosums.

Live podcasts resume Tuesday, March 10th.

"Trading Places" Comes To Capitol Hill

by JASmius

Remember that movie?  Starred Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy as a snobbish Wall Street stockbroker and street hoodlum, respectively....

....on whom the Duke Brothers (Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche)....

....conduct a ruthless social experiment seeking to turn one into the other and then back again, on which their mutual bet is a single dollar.

That flick came immediately to mind when I saw the following two stories.

First, the jig seems suddenly to be up for New Jersey Democrat Senator Robert Menendez:

Federal authorities are set to bring criminal charges against Democrat Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey, according to multiple news sources.

Menendez allegedly used his Senate office to push the business interests of a Democrat donor and friend in exchange for gifts, CNN said.

A representative for Menendez could not immediately be reached for comment.

Attorney General Eric Holder approved requests by prosecutors in the public integrity section to bring forth the charges, according to CNN, and an announcement could come within weeks.

Prosecutors are nearing a deadline under the statute of limitations on some of the allegations.

Given that there's no such thing as a Democrat who isn't corrupt, I take it for granted that the allegations against Senator Menendez are true.  But that isn't what interests me about this story.  Note the part about prosecutors nearing the end of the statute of limitations on these charges.  That suggests that DOJ has known about them for years and has been sitting on them for all this time, and are only moving on them now.  Leading to the next question: Why now?  And then you remember that Senator Menendez has been astoundingly vocal in his withering criticism of the Obama Regime on its nuclear sellout to the Iranian mullahs and a staunch backer of the renewed tough economic sanctions that The One has angrily threatened to veto.  And just as suddenly, everything falls into place and makes sense.

Robert Menendez bolted the reservation.  Robert Menedez fell away from the party line.  And so Robert Menendez must be destroyed, even though it means New Jersey GOP Governor Chris Christie gets to (temporarily) increase the GOP's Senate majority by another seat.

Contrast this apparently outgoing apostate Democrat with the sudden love being show by House Democrats for the leader of their opposition:

House Democrats have vowed to back Speaker John Boehner if Tea Party Republicans attempt to oust him from his leadership position.

The speaker angered right-wing Republicans this week by capitulating to Democrat demands to fund the Department of Homeland Security without reversing President Barack Obama’s [illegal] executive orders on immigration.

With Boehner voting for the measure even though two-thirds of GOP members voted against it, conservative Republicans are said to be openly considering a coup in a bid to get the gavel into the hands of one of their colleagues.

But, according to the Hill, Democrats will block any such move.

"I'd probably vote for Boehner [because] who the hell is going to replace him? [Ted] Yoho?" said New Jersey-9 Representative Bill Pascrell, referring to the Florida Tea Party Republican who has crossed swords with Boehner on several bipartisan compromise bills.

"In terms of the institution, I would rather have John Boehner as the speaker than some of these characters who came here thinking that they're going to change the world."

Like animals such as Pascrell didn't.  All Yoho and friends are trying to do is change it back.

Democrat Arizona-3 Representative Raúl Grijalva told the Hill that he believes that it would be bad news for Democrats if Boehner were replaced.

"Then we would get Scalise or somebody? Geez, come on," said Grijalva, referring to House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-LA1. "We can be suicidal, but not stupid."

I'm not sure what the difference is, actually.  But the pragmatic self interest is candidly expressed.

Massachusetts-2 Democrat Representative Jim McGovern said, "Personally, I don't want to waste two years. And I think that the crazy Tea Party-type would probably not be willing to work with us on anything.

"My hope is that what comes out of this is that Boehner realizes that there are some people in his caucus who are unreasonable, and you can never get them to say 'yes' to anything," he said. "Rather than spending so much time agonizing over how to please them, maybe he just ought to focus on how you build more bipartisan coalitions and actually get some things done."

i.e. Democrat, pro-Obamunist legislation.  As though there is some sort of obligation for the majority the voters elected to eschew their own priorities and kowtow to the minority they did not.

And Democrat Representative Gerry Connolly of Virginia-11 says any attempt to replace Boehner would be quite a conundrum for his party.

"I think it would pose a real existential dilemma for us," said Connolly. "I mean, on the one hand, if you have a chance to take out a Republican Speaker, why wouldn't you do that?

"On the other hand, if the obvious alternative is a Tea Party speaker, now you've got to worry not only about your own political situation, but frankly about the institution. I think that would give very serious pause to the Democrats."

Return "the institution" to its constitutional roots and limitations constitutes a "threat" to that institution?

No, it does not, in actuality.  But it does pose a threat to the Obama Regime, at least theoretically, as well as to whatever miniscule relevance congressional Donks have left.  And apart from all of that, they simply want to (1) stick it to House conservatives (again) and (2) both embarrass and indebt John Boehner by being the ones responsible for saving his Speakership.  Which means that for all intents and purposes, Boehner is could very soon become a de facto Democrat Speaker of the House of Representatives.  And this, in turn, would mean that the Democrats are now officially running BOTH houses of Congress from the minority.

Or, in other words, business as usual in Washington, D.C.

Exit question: If Boehner equates to Lewis Winthorpe III and Menendez equates to Billy Ray Valentine, does Nancy Pelosi - who would be relegated to even greater irrelevance - become the Ophelia of this scenario?

Seems an altogether fitting punishment for John-boy, if you ask me.

From Britainistan With Hate

by JASmius

Remember Zivka Klein's little "man on the Paris street" experiment from a few weeks ago?  British journalist Jonathan Kalmus ran the same tests in two British cities, and found depressingly similar results:

With as many as 45% of British Jews fearing they ‘may not have a future in Britain’, according to a survey by the Campaign Against Antisemitism – and following an experiment by Israeli Zvika Klein on the streets of Paris, British journalist Jonathan Kalmus decided to test the levels of prejudice in two British cities with shocking results. Volunteers in Copenhagen and Rome also suffered some abuse, as well as welcoming reactions, while Jewish journalists in Stockholm and Berlin walked for hours without incident.

‘You Jew’ was the anti-Semitic scream which came from a passing car. My shaken wife tried to explain it away to my seven-year-old daughter as a very large sneeze. They were simply playing in a local park in Manchester a few weeks ago when the incident ripped through what should have been a peaceful and wholesome time for any mother and child.

‘Fight the Jewish scum’ and ‘Jew, Jew, Jew… Run’, were the more vicious threats hurled at me in the past few days, however, when I decided to secretly film and find out whether ‘Jew-hatred’ really is alive and kicking on British streets.

…..It took me just one minute. One minute of walking one single, busy major street in Manchester before abuse was flung at me.

In twenty-five minutes on that one single street in Longsight, I was spat at by one man and called ‘a Jew’ multiple times by passers by, even by a young boy walking with his father.

I was just walking in the street testing the effect of being clearly identifiable as a Jew by wearing a small traditional Jewish head covering called a kippah.

In Bradford the situation was more shameful. It took thirteen minutes, during which I was stalked by a man who repeatedly took pictures of me. He followed me on foot for five minutes and thirty seconds according to my footage.

There was a shout of ‘you Jew’ at me as I crossed the road to Bradford City Park.  Minutes later a man turned his head and yelled ‘fight the Jewish scum’ just behind my back.

Some time later three youths shouted at me across a street repeatedly, ‘You’re a Jew, not a Muslim…Jew, Jew, Jew run!’

Given the extent to which the United Kingdom, as well as the rest of Europe, has been overrun by Muslims already, the hostility and bigotry encountered by Mr. Kalmus really oughtn't be all that shocking.  Indeed, that it was less in evidence in Stockholm and Berlin is the real surprise - but one that certainly won't last.

I'll quote myself in closing:

No wonder Benjamin Netanyahu's invitation is so appealing. History is, quite literally, repeating itself less than a century after the world said, "Never again".

"Never again," my tookhes.

But I must ask the same question I did yesterday: Jews have a homeland to which they can flee, and thank the LORD for it. But Christians are hated as much as Jews; and when the enemy within comes for us, to where do we flee?

Thugs of North Korea Praise Slashing of Ambassador, Threaten Nuclear War

By Douglas V. Gibbs

On Thursday, U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Mark Lippert was slashed across the face while giving a speech in Seoul.  The attacker, a 55-year-old known agitator, Kim Ki-Jong, indicated his motivation for the attack was to decriy the continued division of the Korean Peninsula.  The wounds to Lippert, in addition to his face where he needed 80 stitches to close the gash, also extended to his arm where he required surgery to repair the damaged tendons and nerves.

"South and North Korea should be reunified!" shouted Kim Ki-Jong during the attack.  He was taken into custody.  Authorities in South Korea have indicated they are familiar with Kim, and the band of hard-core activists he is a member of who use violence to highlight their grievances.  An anonymous police official said that in 2010, Kim through a piece of concrete at the Japanese ambassador in Seoul, which missed the ambassador, but did hit his secretary.  At the time, Kim was sentenced to a three-year suspended prison term for that attack.  The claimed motive by Kim at the time was a small group of items occupied by South Korea, but claimed by Japan.  In 2007 Kim threatened to light himself on fire during a protest.

Lipper is reported as doing well, and in high spirits.

The attack against the U.S. Ambassador follows a volley of threats from North Korea against the United States, the most recent being sparked by the annual U.S.-South Korean military exercises (we called the exercises "Team Spirit" when I was in the Navy).  South Korean agitators have also made mention of the exercises in their protests.  The exercises are defensive in nature, and are simply a joint training exercise.

Each year North Korea reacts to the exercises, this year vowing to wage a "merciless, sacred war" against the United States.

"Nuclear weapons are not a monopoly of the US," the ruling party's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, warned in an editorial carried by the state KCNA news agency.

"The US is seriously mistaken if it thinks its mainland is safe," the editorial added.

North Korea "will wage a merciless sacred war against the US now that the latter has chosen confrontation", the Rodong Sinmun said.

North Korea offered a moratorium on nuclear testing if this year's joint drills were cancelled, but the offer was rejected by Washington, and viewed it as an "implicit threat" that North Korea will carry out a fourth nuclear test.

This is the first time North Korea's threats included a missile strike on the Continental United States.  It is believed North Korea possesses 10 to 16 nuclear weapons fashioned from either plutonium or weapons-grade uranium, and may have an arsenal of 100 nuclear weapons by 2020.

Following the slashing of Ambassador Lippert, the leadership in North Korea praised the attack, calling them "knife slashes of justice" through the state-controlled media, adding they were "a deserved punishment on war maniac U.S.," indicating that the drills have brought Korea to the brink of war.

The United States, in addition to the annual training exercise with South Korea, have 28,500 U.S. troops stationed in the South as a deterrent to the North.  North Korea claims the presence of the troops is one of the causes of the continued divide between the two Koreas.

Democrat Elijah Cummings Emails Could Land Him in Prison

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As the media circus about Hillary Clinton using her own email servers for State Department emails, something she accused the Bush administration of doing, is rattling loudest, another email story regarding a democrat has also slammed into the wall, shattering the love some uninformed voters who are finally paying attention had for the Democrat Party.

One wonders if a true investigation was conducted, would the honest Democrats be a very small minority after all?

In the case of Cummings, it wasn't the passing of sensitive State Department information to hide what was being done (Isn't that the obvious reason for Hillary's secret email account?  To hide her actions?  And what do we call politicians going out of their way to hide the truth from We the People?), but to hide his secret emails regarding attacks against conservative groups that dared to act in defiance of the hard left statist ideology.

Does this make him an accomplice that colluded with the IRS and Lois Lerner to attack what he considered to be political opposition?

Catherine Engelbrecht, the founder of “True the Vote,” testified before Congress in February.
She was targeted by FBI, IRS, ATF, and OSHA after she filed for tax exempt status for her voters rights group.

Engelbrecht said during her testimony before Congress and Cummings, “Frankly, to sit before my accuser and be silent in the face of what he did was unconscionable.”

The House Oversight Committee has released a ton of emails showing that the IRS during 2012 and 2013 was feeding Rep. Cummings with confidential tax information on the voter fraud prevention group True the Vote, a conservative voter fraud prevention group.  The emails revealed the IRS and Cummings’ staff asking for nearly identical information from True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht about her organization, indicating coordination and improper sharing of confidential taxpayer information.

And people doubt me when I say the democrats and some of the establishment republicans are actively working in a coordinated manner to silence their conservative opposition.

Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa, and five Subcommittee Chairmen, have demanded from Cummings an explanation for the staff inquiries to the IRS about True the Vote and for his denial that his staff ever contacted the IRS about the group.

“Although you have previously denied that your staff made inquiries to the IRS about conservative organization True the Vote that may have led to additional agency scrutiny, communication records between your staff and IRS officials – which you did not disclose to Majority Members or staff – indicates otherwise,” the letter to Cummings states. “As the Committee is scheduled to consider a resolution holding Ms. Lerner, a participant in responding to your communications that you failed to disclose, in contempt of Congress, you have an obligation to fully explain your staff’s undisclosed contacts with the IRS.”

When they asked for information from the IRS, Lerner, if she had no information, simply responded, "Check tomorrow, please."

Cummings denied that his staff, “might have been involved in putting True the Vote on the radar screen of some of these Federal agencies” at a February 6, 2014, Subcommittee hearing.

The progressives seeking a socialist utopia through statist control have been lying to you, and have been colluding together to silence and eliminate any who dare to stand against them. . . and if you are shocked, you haven't been paying attention.

Emails? What about Benghazi?

By Douglas V. Gibbs

While the press is flipping out over the hypocrisy of Hillary Clinton's Emails

We realize, it's not news that she's a hypocrite, but it seems to be news that nobody realizes she's downright evil. . . I mean, you'd have to be to sit by and watch Americans die in Benghazi, and then lie about it, right?

The woes for Hillary are just beginning. As I've been saying, she will not be the Democrat Party candidate in 2016. The Democrats realize that sexism doesn't work (so Elizabeth Warren won't be, either). They will be putting an Hispanic candidate forward as their candidate it 2016.

Convention Movement Grows

By Douglas V. Gibbs

From a constitutional point of view, we have numerous tools to "take back the country."  In various writings and speeches I have laid out the lot.

1. Peaceful Revolution.  This is how the Founding Fathers began their journey to independence, not shooting guns and demanding independency, but appealing to the leadership of Britain asking to be treated like Englishmen in a manner consistent with how Englishmen were being treated in the motherland.  The king refused, and the rest is history.  The Tea Party movement is an example of today's peaceful revolution, as are constitution classes, and our information campaign on the internet, and by other means.

2. Nullification.  The States have Original Authority, meaning that prior to the United States Constitution all powers belonged to the States.  We the People, through our States, send delegates representing our States to the Constitutional Convention in 1787 to create a new government, and grant a limited number of authorities to that government so that it may act in a manner that would protect, preserve, and promote the union of States.  As the creators of the federal government, the States are the parents of the federal government.  As the creators of the United States Constitution, the States are the final arbiters of the United States Constitution - not the courts, as we have been erroneously taught. Therefore, as the creators of both the federal government, and the law of the land, the States have the right to refuse to implement any illegal (unconstitutional) federal laws and actions.  That is called "nullification."

3. Secession.  As voluntary members of the union, the States have the right to exit from the union if the contract, the U.S. Constitution, is being breached by the federal government.  Even the mere threat of secession makes Washington, D.C. nervous.  My friend Tim "Loki" Kerlin and I used to joke that we ought to have all of the conservative States secede, and become a new country.  Then, in a decade or two, the conservative States of America would be able to take back the rest of the country from the liberals because the conservatives would have all of the guns, jobs, and prosperity.

4. Bloody Revolution.  A last resort, and not one the Founders planned to engage in.  If push comes to shove, and the federal government were to fire the first shot, a bloody revolution would be a stark reality, and is a possibility many people fear may not be unavoidable.

5. Convention.  There has been only one Constitutional Convention, and that was in 1787.  There whould only be one "con-con."  But an Article V. Convention, despite what those that argue against convention say, is not a con-con.  An Article V. Convention is a valuable tool given to us by the framers of the Constitution as a legitimate way to restore the republic, and get a corrupt government headed for tyranny under control.  Alexander Hamilton argued in Federalist #85 that the fail-safe against a runaway convention is the fact that an Article V. Convention is only for proposing amendments, and it still takes 3/4 ratification by the State legislatures.  An Article V. Convention is a way for We the People, through our States, to amend the Constitution without the politicians of the federal government being involved.  The only other way for amendments to be proposed is through Congress, and we must ask ourselves, "which is better?  Congress proposing amendments without our involvement, or us through our States proposing amendments without federal involvement?  The answer is clear.

Oh, and that poppycock that we are almost to the 2/3 requirement for the States to call a convention is not correct.  49 States with over 750 applications have demanded a convention of States, but the convention has not been called.

I recognize the concerns that many people have about convention, and the fear of a runaway convention, so that is where a third convention surfaces.  The third kind of convention is a grass roots effort that audits the federal government, exposing the unconstitutional aspects of the federal government, and then making these constitutional shortcomings of the federal government aware to the State governments, and using pressure on the local politicians to go after the federal politicians.  A Republic Review then uses the States to gain control of the federal government, and may open the door for nullification, or an Article V. Convention, but under an atmosphere of more control by the people, with limiting aspects that will deny such a convention the opportunity to "run away."

We will be discussing and debating Republic Review at the next Constitution Association meeting on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Boston Billies, 26850 Cherry Hills Blvd., Menifee, CA 92586.  Check-in is at 5:00 pm, and the meeting begins at 5:30 pm.

Egypt President el-Sisi Closes 27,000 Mosques To Combat Terrorism

by JASmius

Allah wept:

An Egyptian administrative court on February 18th upheld the Ministry of Religious Endowments’ decision issued in September 2013 to close down neighborhood places of worship of less than eighty square meters (861 square feet), a move intended to protect young people from the militancy and extremism that can prevail in such places, which lack the legal standing to hold Friday prayers.

This move sets a precedent that raises many questions about the fate of mosques in many Egyptian villages, the grounds of which are usually less than eighty square meters. In reply, opponents of the decision such as the Salafist Nour Party claimed that closing down places of worship without providing a larger alternative serves to further bolster extremist ideology, considering that the larger existing mosques cannot accommodate Friday worshippers who line surrounding streets to pray. On the opposite end of the spectrum, supporters of the decision such as intellectuals and scholars say that those mosques are time bombs that threaten national security, as they fall outside the purview of the Ministry of Religious Endowments and are used to spread subversive ideologies.

In the largest Arab Muslim country, the government is taking common sense steps to quash jihadist attacks before they can even be plotted.  In Obamerikastan, local governments are replacing Christian and Jewish holidays with Muslim holidays, and the federal government is conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow President el-Sisi, exactly as they did President Mubarek four years ago.

The world really has turned upside down.

And we're on the wrong end.

Temecula Constitution Class: Houses of Congress

Instructor: Douglas V. Gibbs

We have two Houses of Congress, established by Article I, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, and detailed in Article I, Sections 2 and 3.  In 1897, when the Constitution was debated and written, the intent was for the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to be very different from each other.  Over time, largely due to the 17th Amendment, the differences between the two Houses of Congress have diminished, and the dynamics of our system of government has been damaged as a result.  How are the Houses of Congress supposed to be different, and why?  Learn tonight in the Temecula Constitution Class beginning at 6:30 pm, at Faith Armory, 41669 Winchester Road, just west of the I-15 and Jefferson Avenue.

What's Wrong With "White History Month"?

by JASmius

I loathe "identity politics" and leftwing groupthink.  There is one race - homo sapiens - and that is a genetic fact.  The notion that there is a "white" race and a "black" race and a "red" race and a "yellow" race, etc. is entirely cultural, and thus one of the roots of all evil that leads to many, if not all, conflicts, in both the macrocosm and the microcosm.

But as Nick Fury told Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, "SHIELD takes the world as it is, not as we would like it to be."  Sound, rational advice, that.  And so, as the owner of Jimbo’s Deli in Flemington, New Jersey, soundly and rationally decided, if every other ethnicity and gender and sexuality under the sun gets its own "history month," why not crackers as well?:

Jim Boggess, proprietor of Jimbo’s Deli on Main at 22 Main St., says, “No matter what you are — Muslim, Jewish, black, white, gay, straight — you should be proud of what you are. I shouldn’t have to feel bad about being white.”

But a neighbor and former customer, Bhakti Curtis, who is bi-racial, doesn’t accept that. He said the sign, is “mocking Black History Month,” especially the way the T was crossed in “WHITE.” The cross piece was not right at the top, it was lower down, in a style used by the Ku Klux Klan and other white-power groups, Curtis said. That cross piece of the T has since been broadened to make it a more traditional, if top-heavy, capital T.

Detective Sergeant William Svard said Corporal Louis Hribik’s report indicates that Curtis said the sign is “racist,” that he felt harassed by it and wanted to know what would be done about it.

Let's put this in perspective, folks.  A (half)black man rules this country.  For five or six very recent months, Black Klan insurrectionists were disrupting and burning down entire communities and assaulting and murdering both cops and white civilians for no other reason than that they were cops and white people.  And all of it triggered and fueled by the blatant smear of a white cop as a "racist killer" when he was, in fact, trying to defend himself against a black assailant that really was trying to murder him - and his entire local police department, now under official persecution by a black attorney-general.

Yet a white restauranteur simply puts up a "celebrate white history month" sign at his establishment, and a "mixed race" neighbor calls the cops on him.  On charges of being white and thinking he has First Amendment rights, I suppose.

Tell me again who the racist is in this scenario?

Hribik went to Jimbo’s, looked at the sign, spoke with Boggess and decided that the sign wasn't derogatory or racist and that no further police action was needed.

Boggess agrees with that assessment and believes he’s lawfully exercising his right of free expression. He keeps a copy of the Bill of Rights in his establishment for ready reference.

I like this guy more and more, don't you?

Boggess said, “If there’s any racial discrimination going on, it’s by people who are objecting to his sign “because I’m white.”

Precisely.  And precisely what his sign was no doubt intended to illustrate.

He said that while other groups have their own celebrations, “I just want to be included. Why is this such a big deal? I don’t get it.”

He said, “I love everybody and everybody should celebrate what they are.”

And that does not require disparagement of or hostility towards anybody else.

Or at least, it didn't used to.

But why let sound rationality, much less logic and science, spoil a good hatefest, right?

Welcome To Gothamistan

by JASmius

The most logical question to ask at this point is, "Why"?  But then you see the goofy grin on the mug of the Red Mayor, and the query dies inside your lips:

The largest public school system in the U.S. will observe the two most important Muslim holidays starting next fall.

Under the new policy, which was hailed Wednesday by Islamic leaders in New York City, the city’s 1.1 million-pupil public school system will close September 24th for Eid al-Adha and the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which will be observed during the summer school session next year.

"Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honoring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his announcement. [emphases added]

There are hundreds of thousands of Muslim families in the same city that their co-religionists attacked just thirteen and a half years ago?   That would mean, by the standard ten to one ratio, that there are tens of thousands of jihadist sleepers in New York City alone.  That can't possibly be the case - can it?

A little down the shrieking alarm scale, how is it that Muslim holidays are now being officially recognized and commemorated in what is not supposed to be a Muslim country?  If it had been done decades ago, it might be one thing, but now?  Insanity, utter insanity, and a stark measure of how creeping dhimmism is reaching a full-bore gallop.

The linked report also mentions that the total number of NYC public school holidays will not change, and highlights incumbent recognition of Christian and Jewish holidays.  Which ought to tell you all you need to know about which holidays Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr will be replacing.

And to think Gotham was ruled by corruption when Bruce Wayne got back from ninja training.  He had no idea.

Defending Republican Party Platform, Not Republican Party Leadership

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The arguments are constant, and technically the arguments are usually correct.  There is no love for the two-party system, and there shouldn't be.  People are frustrated, I get that.  Each party supports the concept of big government because an expanding federal government means more power for them.  Only We the People, and more specifically, the informed members of the public, are demanding we return to the constitutional principles of limited government.  Some may even argue that the two political parties are two sides of the same coin. In some respects, they are correct.  These are the people that call for a third party, or no parties whatsoever.  Is that even possible?

A two-party system is in our human nature.  Birds of a feather flock together, we organize, pick leaders, and then call those groups political parties.  I agree that the party system is a dangerous animal, but we are the ones that have lost control of the American Form of Government, not the political parties.  We can blame the corrupt politicians all we want, but in the end, it is still us that dropped the ball.  We have become complacent, ill-informed, and we don't vote anymore.  No wonder the powers of tyranny have been making amazing strides towards big government.

Hitting the self-destruct button, however, is not the practical answer, nor the most effective answer, to our problems.  The practicality of what is possible in the current political dynamic requires us to think a little deeper, and be problem-solvers like the Founding Fathers were, rather than just lash out at the Republican Party and demand a new party, or the elimination of the two-party system.

Since my stance is not to discard the Republican Party, but that we should take it back, some listeners to my Constitution Radio program has taken issue with me.  One person, a listener in Orlando, Florida, an individual who constantly writes me and accuses me of having taken an oath to the GOP, wrote:

Doug,

You prove your own point. You say the republicans are the best path to turn things around, but you get silent when asked a question. You know, you would prove you do not believe what you say. I asked you to send me Ted Cruz's political history to test it against his condemning "career politicians" at CPAC last week. Complete silence. But this will come back to my memory in the near future when I hear on your show something the democrats get blamed for that Ted Cruz is guilty of, yet he will not get mentioned, or he will get praised for his efforts a symbolic jesture. But no one will mention his inconsistencies. While you are gathering Teddy's political history, you can also link Marco Rubio's immigration record ? Make sure you notice the action in his record reconciled to his wonderful speeches. You may also note his keen understanding of the economy, (though he never even had a paper route, or other job, he is a career politician) like his opposition to Obama's debt ceiling increase, but please remember to document how he voted on Obama's debt ceiling ? You can also notice a pattern of Rubio's M.E. support for Obama until it falls apart, then he is doing wonderful speeches with insights that will make me think,'he is presidential timber.' I have his entire position documented to match his CPAC "Rubio saw the light" speech on amnesty. He always plays against amnesty in election time. Same as Obama, speaks to both sides and everyone hears something and is pleased. America is screwed.  Doug, after you send me that then I can give you some more republicans to vet.

His assumptions are that I am a full supporter of all of the Republicans he thinks are trash, and that I have a multitude of time to chase his demands in order to "prove" to him I am not just another "go-along-to-get-along" Republican that spends all my time Obama-bashing, rather than recognizing the, apparently, multitude of wrong-doing by the politicians of the Republican Party.

I responded:

First of all I never said that the Republicans are the best path to turn things around, I said that right now the Republican Party is the vehicle we have available to us. What that means is that the GOP needs to be infiltrated and reacquired by conservatives. There is nothing wrong with the platform, and everything wrong with the members of the party's leadership. If the GOP continues its course, it will destroy itself into non-existence and then another party will emerge to fill the void. If that party is to the right of the Democrats, it will become the next vehicle. My silence is simply because I am not disagreeing with you about the people you bring up. I am not a Rubio fan, especially after his Gang of 8 involvement, and I have been preaching that Ted Cruz and Rubio and Bobby Jindal (as much as I think Jindal is a good guy, and I am not nearly as down on Cruz as you are) are not eligible for the presidency and should not be in the 2016 conversation.  My aim is not to simply do as you do and spend all of my time attacking the horse we have in the race, but to work to change it, improve it, and turn it back into a vehicle conservatives can effectively use. To me, that is more productive in the fight than spending all of my time attacking something that, though it may not be a large number, is populated with allies and potential allies.

Hard Starboard Radio: A Week Of JASmius On KCAA

November 23rd, 2013 began a streak of three guest-hosting gigs in four weeks. I never did receive an adequate explanation for Mr. Gibbs' month-long attack of sloth (which is to say, I don't remember what it was). But you know me, I'm always willing to help, especially if it means getting the hallowed gold-pressed latinum KCAA microphone all to myself until I start growing as accustomed to the center seat of the starship Pistachio as the host. Kind of like "Captain" Riker in Best of Both Worlds.

Yes, that's foreshadowing.

Costco Akbar!

by JASmius

Ah, the "officially" sacred, inviolable Muslim oversensibilities:

A man is suing Costco for religious discrimination.

He tells Eyewitness News exclusively that when he refused to work with pork, the major retailer sent him outside to gather carts.

"Just because you have a different belief, that doesn't give anybody the right to treat you different," said Jean Camara, suing Costco.

First things first: Mr. Camara is suing Costco, not blowing up Costco outlets, which makes him a "moderate" Muslim who's attempting to force Sharia on the retailer in court rather than by the sword.

That fulfills the "fairness" obligation we don't really have and wouldn't accept even if it was required of us.

Second, did Mr. Camara really not know that Costco sells hams, bacon, and pork loins?  Hell, Easter is coming up the end of this month.

Third, they didn't fire his ass on the spot for insubordination, which is more consideration than my son received from Fred Meyer last summer.  To the contrary, they accommodated him by assigning him duties (presumably at no reduction in pay that the union CBA wouldn't have allowed in any case) that didn't require him to touch swine and booze.  Yet Mr. Camara actually claims not to know why he was reassigned.  Which tells you all you need to know about his candlepower betwixt the ears, and why he didn't get the plumb assignment he was really after:

Camara says he asked his managers if he could work in the electronics department, but his requests were repeatedly denied.

He ended up filing a human rights complaint against the company.

Sixteen days later, he was fired for insubordinate conduct.

"We all share different beliefs so we all should be treated equally no matter what belief we have," Camara said.

But Mr. Camara didn't want to be treated equally; he wanted special treatment on the grounds that he's a Muslim.  And if he doesn't win this frivolous suit, he can always blow up the Costco after all.

Kinda makes you wonder how he'd have reacted if he'd been working in the bakery department and been assigned to bake a "wedding" cake for a homosexual "couple," a duty from which no evangelical Christian would ever be excused on religious or any other grounds.

As I say, it's all about sacred, inviolable Muslim sensibilities.  So much so that evidently we're not allowed to even defend ourselves in deliciously poetically just ways:

An American inventor has unveiled an offensive “anti-terror” system designed to spray Muslims with pig blood.

The highly controversial device is the work of tinpot tinkerer Franklin R. Lacy, who works in Tampa, Florida.

He has applied for a patent on a “system for protecting against terrorist and illegal invasion” which cruelly exploits the Islamic ban on eating or even handling pork.

His invention involves placing containers of clearly labelled pig blood in sensitive areas, in the hope suicide attackers would avoid detonating a bomb nearby for fear of getting covered in it.

These vials of blood could be attached to trip wires and spray Muslims with the forbidden substance if they enter a certain area.

“It will keep suicide bombers from blowing themselves up near the container of pig blood because they believe that they would be guaranteed not to go to heaven,” Lacy wrote.

Humorous and ingenious at the same time, no?  Hey, one good middle finger deserves another, I always say.

As if to illustrate the effectiveness of Mr. Lacy's invention....:

Fiyaz Mughal, director of the interfaith group Faith Matters, said the device has “been created by someone who seeks to humiliate specific faiths”.

Note the plural.

“The patent is particularly troubling if used against Jews or Muslims, because it would be deeply offensive and insulting to their faith and beliefs,” Mughal continued.

I'm sure Jewish jihadists would be duly outraged if there was such a thing.

“It also means that such a product could foment community tensions and so this is very troubling indeed. One has to wonder about the mindset of someone producing such a product.”

The "community tensions" already exist, Director Mughal, and we didn't create them.  Which tells us all we need to know about your "mindset".

And, before I forget.....

Hillary Clinton, The New York Times & (Un)Coordination

by JASmius

As I said the other day, this HRC illegal email flap is just one more Clinton scandal that will never go anywhere, so rudimentary as to be average, ordinary, everyday SOP.  Which is why we have to find the gallows entertainment value in this woman's inability to get any of the coordinative details right.

The latest chapter began with her following tweet:

I want the public to see my email. I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.

Which is bullcrap because if she'd wanted the public to see her emails, she wouldn't have illegally used a private account to send and receive them.  Which means that she wants the public to see only what she wants the public to see.

But that's not the humorous part.  The humorous part is her "asking State to release" emails of which they never had custody in the first place because they were sent from her private account rather than State's.  Which means she can, and has always been able to, release them whenever she damn pleases.  Which means this "asked State to release them" nonsense is just another stalling tactic and part of the coverup orchestration.

And even that is not the punchline:

The story surrounding the tweet gets a little sketchy, though, when you take into account that the New York Times published a story about Clinton’s tweet. The problem? The Times published their story about Clinton’s tweet about an hour BEFORE Clinton actually sent out the tweet.

Or, in terminology her hubby would understand, like climaxing before the intern is even on her knees.

And this harridan thinks she's running for president?

But here, my friends, is the punchline (at least for today):

Although Hillary Clinton and her allies may be claiming that her private e-mail system is no big deal, Hillary’s State Department actually forced the 2012 resignation of the U.S. ambassador to Kenya in part for setting up an unsanctioned private e-mail system. According to a 2012 report from the State Department’s inspector general, former U.S. ambassador to Kenya Scott Gration set up a private e-mail system for his office in 2011.

The inspector general’s report offered a scathing assessment of Gration's information security practices — practices that are eerily similar to those undertaken by Clinton while she served as Secretary of State:

The inspector general’s report specifically noted that Gration violated State Department policy by using a private, unsanctioned e-mail service for official business. In its executive summary listing its key judgments against the U.S. ambassador to Kenya who served under Hillary Clinton, the inspector general stated that Gration's decision to willfully violate departmental information security policies highlighted Gration's “reluctance to accept clear-cut U.S. Government decisions.” The report claimed that this reluctance to obey governmental security policies was the former ambassador’s “greatest weakness.” [emphasis added]

Just think, folks; if Ambassador Gration had just asked State to release all his emails, everything would have been fine.  And, you know, not been a white male.

Maybe he should have asked Bill & Hillary to adopt him.

Bet Hillary's reply to that request is an email State won't release.

Obama EPA Chief Gina McCarthy Gives Up The "Climate Change" Hoax

by JASmius

Either that, or Miss McCarthy actually has rudimentary scruples about perjuring herself before Congress:

SENATOR JEFF SESSIONS (R-AL): “When we go to our states, the group we have the most complaints about from our constituents — whether it’s highway people, whether it’s farmers, whether it’s energy people — is the Environmental Protection Agency. It’s an [agency of] extraordinary overreach. And you apparently are unaware of the pushback that’s occurring in the real world… So now you say that we’ve got a crisis and there are dangers out there. Let me ask you this. There was an article from Mr. [Bjorn] Lomborg… from the Copenhagen Institute. He says, along with Dr. Pielke from Colorado, that we’ve had fewer droughts in recent years. Do you dispute that?”

EPA OBERFUHRER GINA McCARTHY: “I don’t know in what context he’s making statements like that…”

SESSIONS: “What about hurricanes. Have we had more or less hurricanes in the last decade?”

McCARTHY: “In terms of landing those hurricanes on land, I cannot answer that question. It’s a very complicated issue.”

SESSIONS: “It’s not complicated on how many have landed. We've had a dramatic reduction in the number. We've gone a decade without a hurricane [Category] 3 or above… Would you acknowledge that over the last eighteen years, that the increase in temperature has been very little, and that it is well below, matter of fact 90% below most of the environmental models that showed how fast temperature would increase?”

McCARTHY: “I do not know what the models actually are predicting that you are referring to…”

SESSIONS: “This is a stunning development, that the head of the Environmental Protection Agency — who should know more than anybody else in the world, who is imposing hundreds of billions of dollars in cost to prevent this climate temperature increase — doesn't know whether their projections have been right or wrong.”

"It's a very complicated issue"?  Apparently it isn't too complicated for greenstremists to demand the arrest and political imprisonment of "climate change deniers."  Doesn't exactly square with "the science is settled," does it?

But then again, they weren't under oath.  Which still doesn't quite entirely explain Miss McCarthy's evasiveness.  I mean, it's not like the Obama DOJ would ever prosecute her on contempt of Congress or any other charges the GOP Congress would care to file.  Or is it that she is actually gaining some dim awareness of how "up" the "climate change" jig really is?

St. Louis Prosecutors Considering Igniting Next Round Of Riots By Prosecuting Mike Brown's Mother

by JASmius

Or, in her own words, "Get her ass":

Prosecutors are now considering criminal charges against members of Michael Brown’s family in connection with a violent confrontation over the sale of Michael Brown merchandise commemorating the late teenager, who was shot to death last year by a police officer.

…Lesley McSpadden, Brown’s mother, is named in a police report as one of the “attackers” who participated in the assault, which cops classified as a felony armed robbery.

As detailed in a Ferguson Police Department report, the fight over the sale of Brown merchandise occurred in the parking lot of a barbecue restaurant, where three vendors set up tables under a pair of canopy tents.

One of the vendors was Pearlie Gordon, 54, the mother-in-law of Michael Brown Sr. (who is divorced from McSpadden).

According to the report, a group of about 20-30 suspects “jumped out of vehicles and rushed” Gordon, Tony Petty, and Matthew Cosey. Gordon told police that McSpadden, 34, approached her tent and said, “You can’t sell this shit.” Gordon replied, according to the report, that “unless McSpadden could produce documentation stating that she had a [trademark] on her son’s name she (Gordon) was going to continue to sell her merchandise.”

Gordon told Ferguson police that McSpadden “ran up” and punched her during the melee, while also instructing a cohort to “get her ass.”

A witness cited in the police report told cops that she watched the attack from her car while at a red signal. The woman said she saw several individuals enter the tent from opposite sides and begin “assaulting (punching) the vendors.” In a video provided to TSG by another passing motorist, a man – apparently one of the vendors – is seen being pinned to the pavement by a larger man who is throwing punches. Standing next to the attacker is a woman holding a metal rod.

Model citizens. <eyeroll>  I can't imagine where Michael Brown could have possibly gotten the idea of knocking over a convenience store or trying to wrestle away a policeman's sidearm so as to shoot him execution style, can you?

But that's not stopping "Get her ass" McSpadden and the other members of her gang from suing ex-Officer Darren Wilson and the Ferguson PD:

The parents of Michael Brown Jr. have made plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Ferguson and former Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson. Attorneys for the family, Anthony D. Gray and Daryl D. Parks....

Who, not surprisingly, are black.

....addressed the media Thursday morning during a news conference that took place at the Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.

Michael Brown’s parents, Michael Brown Sr. and Leslie McSpadden were present.

According to Gray, they “obviously disagree” with the findings from the Department of Justice’s investigation citing the same systematic issues taking place in Ferguson existed during the August 9, 2014 shooting.

Which is to say, even Eric "The Red" Holder couldn't contrive the flimsiest grounds on which to mount a civil rights prosecution, but these two Sharpton shysters are going to succeed where the Reichsfuhrer failed.  They better shop for their judge very diligently.

I wonder how this will conflict with "Get her ass" McSpadden's assault/armed robbery trial?  No wonder Gray and Parks said they'll be filing their suit "soon".

Their plan is to demonstrate in a court of law, to “reasonably minded people,”....

i.e. Black Klansmen.

that officer Wilson’s choice to use deadly force was unreasonable and unnecessary.

Unless he wanted to save his own life.  But then #WhiteCopsLivesDon'tMatter, right?

But let not your hearts be troubled, my friends, for Reichsfuhrer Holder, as his parting shot, and penance for not screwing over ex-Officer Wilson regardless of the facts and evidence, is smearing and taking down his former employers:

The African-American sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, says U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is conducting a "witch hunt" in Ferguson, Missouri, to save face in the Michael Brown case.

Holder on Wednesday announced that there is no evidence that white Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson did anything illegal when he fatally shot unarmed black teenager Michael Brown, whom Wilson said was charging him. But Holder said a separate civil rights investigation into the Ferguson Police Department found systemic racism and that blacks were targeted in an effort to collect money through fines.

Sheriff David Clarke, appearing Wednesday on Fox News Channel's Your World with Neil Cavuto, said Holder's statement was part of a pattern of "inflammatory rhetoric" he has made before. Holder has had Ferguson in his crosshairs ever since the shooting occurred, he said.

"He did not have an open mind. He had a pre-determined mindset going into this investigation," Clarke told Cavuto. "I think that Eric Holder has an animosity, a genuine hostility toward local law enforcement, specifically white police officers."

Or, put another way, Holder's rationalization is that it doesn't matter if he bags Wilson, because "all them crackers look and think alike anyway."  Plus to have prosecuted Wilson and lost would have been a huge embarrassment to the Regime that undermined the entire false "Hands Up/Don't Shoot" Narrative.

Of course, that false Narrative is treated as gospel by most of "black America," so it could also have been another on-ramp for the coast-to-coast race war after which this White House so clearly lusts, and which they will never cease pursuing.

Or, in McSpaddenspeak, "Get their asses".

Right, Leslie?

DOJ Hires Imam Who Called For Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s Execution

by JASmius

Looks like the Muslim Brotherhood is now running the Injustice, Revenge & Coverup Commissariat in addition to Foggy Bottom:

An Egyptian-born imam who in 2007 said that Somali-born activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali should receive the death penalty for her criticism of Islam is now a Department of Justice contractor hired to teach classes to Muslims who are in federal prison.

According to federal spending records, Fouad ElBayly, the imam at Islamic Center of Johnstown in Pennsylvania, was contracted by the DOJ’s Bureau of Prisons beginning last year to teach the classes to Muslim inmates at Cumberland Federal Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland.

The records show that ElBayly has two contracts worth $12,900 to teach the classes and to provide the inmates “leadership and guidance.” One of the contracts is dated February 20th, 2014, and the other is dated December 8th, 2014.

It was April 2007 when ElBayly, the imam at the Islamic Center of Johnston, protested Ali’s scheduled appearance at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.

Ali, a former Dutch parliamentarian who fled Somalia with her family at a young age, has been vocal in her critique of Islam, [stat]ing that women suffer greatly under the religion.

“If you come into the faith, you must abide by the laws, and when you decide to defame it deliberately, the sentence is death,” the imam told a local newspaper ahead of her university visit.

ElBayly, along with Mahmood Qazi, the Islamic Center of Johnstown's founder and past president, pressed university officials to block Ali from speaking.

“I don’t want her to poison anyone’s mind,” Qazi said. “She doesn't believe in God. How can she talk about God?”

"Imam" ElBayly, of course, is a "moderate" Muslim, because he only called for Miss Ali's murder, rather than slaying her himself.

But don't anybody even contemplate the slightest hint that Barack Hussein Obama isn't a "devout Christian"!

Ya gotta love Velvet Hammer's demure understatement: "It is becoming increasingly harder to view the Obama administration’s actions in regards to the threat of Islam as merely willful ignorance."

I can't wait to see how the Muslim Brotherhood is going to run Health & Human Services, can you?

Ben Carson: Homosexuality Is A Choice

by JASmius

Or "How you can tell that Dr. Carson is not a politician":

Tea party Republican and potential 2016 presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson told CNN's Chris Cuomo on Tuesday that being gay is a choice, an example being straight people who emerge from prison as homosexuals.

During a discussion about same-sex marriage rights, Cuomo asked Carson if, as with slavery, gay marriage needed to be corrected in the Constitution as a form of equal protection. Carson replied that there's no comparison between the two.

"You can't just say because it happened that way this time, this is the same situation, it's not the same situation," he said, "because people have no control over their race, for instance."

Cuomo then asked if Carson believed people had control over their sexuality and if being gay was a choice. "Absolutely," said Carson.

"A lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight, and when they come out, they're gay," Carson said. "So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question."

Amazing the freedom you have to answer Cuomo's loaded "questions" honestly and correctly when you have no actual chance at the 2016 GOP nomination, huh?

And yes, the doc dragged the Constitution into the "discussion" as well - sort of:

The issue of gay marriage should be left to the States, according to Carson, and providing legal rights to same-sex couples can be done without changing the legal definition of marriage.

"Why do gay people want to get married? Why do they say they want to get married? Because they want to have various rights — property rights, visitation rights," he said.

"Why can't any two human beings, I don't care what their sexual orientation is, why can't they have the legal right to do those things? That does not require changing the definition of marriage."

Actually, there is no enumerated power granted to the federal government the States that mentions or even hints at marriage definition.  As such, and in the absence of any such constitutional amendment, it falls within the Tenth Amendment's, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the People".  And, indeed, the argument can be made that even State and local governments have no business "defining" marriage, and have only really heavily gotten into that "business" as a direct result of homosexual extremists' drive to hijack the marriage institution.  Which, in turn, gives the lie to the idea of "legal rights [for] same-sex 'couples' can be done without changing the legal definition of marriage," because the latter is the whole point of the exercise, while the former is merely a by-product of it.

Which is how you can tell that, though Dr. Carson isn't a politician, he is running for president, as evinced by his retreat from his devastatingly on-target 2013 comparison of homosexuality to pedophilia and beastiality in the context of cultural debasement "envelope-pushing".  And which, in turn, is why, if he'd ever had a legit shot at the presidency, that would have extinguished it, because such moral issues candor will stick to him for ever, like leprosy.

Exit question: Will this eliminate Dr. Carson as a Surgeon-General candidate of President Walker, if and when?

State Department Tweets Imam's Speech Blaming Terror On 'World Zionism'

by JASmius

But Barack Hussein Obama ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY loves America and is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY a "devout Christian" and ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY is a stalwart friend and ally of Israel:

The Obama administration's latest efforts to counter ISIS propaganda appear to be off to a rocky start.

Last month, The New York Times highlighted the State Department's plan to promote ostensibly moderate Muslims by expanding a small agency in the department called the Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications. Its mission is to pull together anti-terror messaging from other government departments including Homeland Security, the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies.

With ISIS and its supporters sending out up to 90,000 tweets and other social media communications daily, according to the Times, U.S. officials emphasized that something had to be done to stop the terror group's momentum.

Hence the decision to enhance the role of the Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications.

But the Washington Free Beacon reported Tuesday that the State Department's official anti-terrorism Twitter account last week tweeted out remarks by a leading Muslim cleric who linked ISIS terrorism to an international Zionist conspiracy.

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb – a leading scholarly voice within Sunni Islam – made the claim during a "counterterrorism rally" held in Mecca, AFP reported.

Al-Tayeb "blamed unrest in the region on a conspiracy by what he called 'new global colonialism allied to world Zionism,' " according to AFP.

The State Department's Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications linked to that report, in which al-Tayeb declared that the "plot has exploited 'confessional tension' in conflict-hit Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Libya."

Thus once again giving the lie to the myth that there's any such thing as "moderate Islam".  The one and only difference between jihadists and non-jihadists is akin to an Army Ranger or Navy SEAL on the one hand and an overweight supply sergeant on the other.  One is a warrior, the other is not, but they're all part of the same "army" and the same cause.

The Obamunist jihadi-symps just can't help themselves, can they?:

The State Department's Counter Terror Bureau had to apologize in May for promoting a controversial cleric who runs a group that backed Hamas and endorsed a fatwa authorizing the murder of U.S. soldiers in Iraq, the Free Beacon reported....

Several months later, the Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications came under fire for promoting a controversial [pro]-terror handbook from Canada that urged law enforcement agencies to stop using the term "Islamic extremism."

The manual had been rejected by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for its adversarial, anti-law enforcement tone.

It cautioned people not to call terrorists "jihadis," asserting that doing so "only emboldens them and gives them a legitimate status in the eyes of the vulnerable. Terrorism is not jihad. Jihad is a noble concept in Islam."

When asked why it promoted the controversial manual with a tweet advertising a "handbook to help parents understand extremists, combat recruitment," a State Department spokeswoman flatly denied having done so.

"Our re-posting does not connote an endorsement," she said. [emphases added]

Jen Psaki, probably.  Or Marie Harf.  One or the other.

Don't believe your lying eyes and ears, folks.  Because doesn't everybody re-tweet material they don't believe in and vehemently oppose?  Yes!  They!  Do!

In some alternate quantum history, anyway.  In this one the Muslim Brotherhood is running U.S. foreign policy, and everybody knows it, Jen and Marie.

I'll be happy to Tweet it for you if you like.

Obama Plotting New Executive Order To Raise Taxes By $100 Billion

by JASmius

The despot is really feeling his oats after having crushed the GOP beneath his heel on his unlawful amnesty decree, huh?:

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is “very interested” in the idea of raising taxes through unilateral executive action.

“The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle class Americans,” Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (S-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.

“Now I don’t want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of,” Earnest continued. “But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally,” Earnest finished.

Why be so coy about it, Josh?  Those executive decrees are being drawn up as we speak.  Heck, they were probably drawn up after the 2014 election at the same time as the Immigration Proclamation.  Oh, let's be brutally honest about this: they were probably drawn up over six years ago, just waiting for Red Barry's whim.  And now that time has arrived.

Has it ever occurred to any of you how accustomed we've become to this rampaging tyranny that it's getting difficult to even muster any cynicism about them anymore?  I've been calling Barack Obama a dictator for years now, and it is open and overt now, and nobody seems to bat an eyelash about it.  And those of us that do can only do so in helpless impotence, because not only does our party not have the balls to oppose it, but they lack the power to do so even if they had the courage to make the attempt.  If, instead of meekly waving the White Flag today, House Republicans had re-passed the "unclean" DHS appropriation defunding Obamnesty, and the Senate totally reversed course after a Mitch McConnell nuke of the filibuster and passed it in turn and sent it to the White House for The One's veto - done everything they possibly could to stop the White House in its tracks - nothing would have changed.  The Regime is implementing amnesty regardless of the Constitution, regardless of the law, regardless of the will of We, The People, Congress, AND the federal courts.  Exactly how they've decreed all the "tweaks" to ObamaCare (think they'll obey the SCOTUS if they strike down federal subsidies?  Not even if the ruling is unanimous, folks) and abused the EPA to impose cap & trade by executive diktat, etc., etc. etc.  So why not order the IRS to just levy a hundred billion more in taxes a year and dismiss Congress as the ceremonial afterthought that it now is?  Why let separation of powers and the electorally-expressed will of the people get in the way of the Almighty, All-Powerful, Must-Be-Enforced-At-Any-Cost Agenda?  Clearly that's the mindset of the Left now: "[BLEEP] the people, [BLEEP] the opposition, [BLEEP] anybody who stands in our way.  Barack Obama is UNSTOPPABLE!!!"

And they're absolutely right.

Never mind Josh Earnest's BS "It's for the middle class" twaddle, as though bludgeoning job creators into laying off more employees is good for the economy.  The individual issues don't really matter that much anymore; it's the process that must be saved.  The rule of law.  What used to be known, and accepted, as "The Law Of The Land".  Because in 2015, The Law Of The Land is not the United States Constitution, but Barack Hussein Obama's hardcore radical ideological whim.  And until his tyranny is overthrown, nothing else - no issue, no policy, no election - is going to matter one single solitary "smidgen".

Period.

Which leaves the fatal question, one I've posed before and continue to ask: How do we use the law to rein in a lawless dictator whose lawlessness enjoys the hearty approval of at least half the country?

If anybody has any eurekas of brilliance, leave 'em in the comments.  I'll consider (almost) anything at this point.

UPDATE: Can't believe I left out Article I, Section 7, Clause 1: "All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills."

Evidently, O has penciled out "House of Representatives" and substituted "White House".

“Iran Will Destroy Tel Aviv In Ten Minutes”

by JASmius

Kinda makes you wonder if the mullahs issue statements like the following as pre-emptive victory laps to rub Bibi's nose in the fact that, for all his declarations this morning about the unshakeability of the Israeli-American alliance, the United States has, in fact, swtiched sides and is a junior ally of the Islamic Empire:

A senior figure in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Mujtabi Du Al-Nour, threatened on Saturday that Iran will destroy Tel Aviv in ten minutes if Israel “makes a mistake” and strikes the Islamic regime’s nuclear facilities.

Al-Nour, who is a representative of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a talk with journalists responded to Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman’s (Yisrael Beytenu) comments from Friday, when he said Israel should stop talking and start acting by striking the facilities said to be developing nuclear weapons.

“If the Zionists were sure that they would win in war they would already have initiated it, but they don’t have the strength to do that – so they just threatened,” blustered Al-Nour. According to the Revolutionary Guards leader, Iran has rockets that can reach the heart of Tel Aviv within six or seven minutes, “even before the rockets of the Zionists reach us.” The threat, coming as it does during Iran’s efforts to increase its nuclear output capability by 19-fold and feasibly obtain the ability to equip nuclear warheads on the rockets Al-Nour claims the country possesses, gives extra urgency to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s warnings against a bad nuclear deal.

Wow.  It's almost as if Mr. Al-Nour has inside knowledge that American air assets will shoot down any Israeli fighter/bombers that try to overfly Iraq or Syria to attack Iran's nuclear weapons facilities.

And no, that's not snark.  Of all the human beings on the face of this planet today, I think the one whose shoes I would want to occupy the absolute least is Benjamin Netanyahu's.  He knows what the Iranians are doing, they know what they're doing, and both know the other know it, and the same is true of where Barack Obama's loyalties lie.  The Iranians are going to wipe Israel off the map, and there is nothing the Israeli prime minister can do about it.

Except incinerate Tehran and as many Iranian targets as the Jewish State has the wherewithall to target and take out.  It's known as the Samson Complex, and the last time Israel was pushed into this dire a position was during the Yom Kippur War of 1973.  Blessedly, Golda Meir and Moshe Dyan didn't have to pull the trigger forty two years ago.  Mr. Netanyahu is just about to that point today, and this morning's congressional address was his country's final warning.  Because one thing we can bank on with Bibi: If his country's going to go down, he's by-Jehovah going to take their enemies down with them.
