NORAD Warns Of EMP Attack

It's coming, folks.  Only question is how soon, and which enemy will carry it out:

The potential of a devastating attack to the U.S. power grid by nuclear states such as North Korea or Iran has prompted the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to return to its former location inside Cheyenne Mountain near Colorado Springs, Colorado, two former Reagan-era government officials write in the Wall Street Journal.

"Why the return?" write Henry F. Cooper and Peter Vincent Pry. "Because the enormous bunker in the hollowed-out mountain, built to survive a Cold War-era nuclear conflict, can also resist an electromagnetic-pulse attack, or EMP."

While the Pentagon is moving to shield its global air defense command from being knocked out by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, the Obama administration has failed to act on urgent recommendations to protect the country's civilian electronic infrastructure from a similar catastrophe, they write.

"An EMP strike, most likely from the detonation of a nuclear weapon in space, would destroy unprotected military and civilian electronics nationwide, blacking out the electric grid and other critical infrastructure for months or years," Cooper and Pry write.

"The staggering human cost of such a catastrophic attack is not difficult to imagine."

Doesn't take a whole lot of imagination.  Just stop and consider how much of our lives comes out of those little wall outlets.  It goes far beyond being able to plug in your gadgets.  Your phones, whether cell or landline, would be dead, so you couldn't contact anybody if you needed help.  No Internet or radio or TV, so you can't find out what's going on.  No money beyond whatever cash and change you have on you or in your house.  No food or medicines, as trucks that transport supplies to grocery stores - which operate on a real-time system with no more than a day or two's groceries on their shelves - cannot be gassed up any more than you can your own vehicles.  You can see where it goes from there - if you want any of what's left in terms of these basic necessities, you have to steal them, and once supermarket shelves are looted bare, and then warehouses, the only other source is your neighbors.  Society starts breaking down.  Disease and starvation and civil unrest grow and run rampant.  Think Baltimore this week on a national scale times a hundred or more.

By some estimates, after an EMP attack on the continental United States, as much as 90% of the American population would be dead.

And our enemies are very well aware of it....:

In the Journal, Cooper and Pry reiterate that "Iran should be regarded as already having nuclear missiles capable of making an EMP attack against the U.S.," noting, "Iran and North Korea have successfully orbited satellites on South-Polar trajectories that appear to practice evading U.S. missile defenses, and at optimum altitudes to make a surprise EMP attack."

....and nobody in the White House or the rest of the Democrat Party seems to give a damn:

"Yet President Obama has not acted on the EMP Commission’s draft executive order to protect national infrastructure that is essential to provide for the common defense," Cooper and Pry write.  "Hardening the national electric grid would cost a few billion dollars, a trivial amount compared with the loss of electricity and lives following an EMP attack."

The authors also fault Congress for failing to act on the recommendations of its own commission and for dropping the ball on multiple bills to fund electronic infrastructure security upgrades.

"In recent years, the GRID Act, the Shield Act, and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act have gained bipartisan and even unanimous support in the House, yet they died in the Senate," they write.

Leaving us with the begged question: Why does the American Left want America to be destroyed in an EMP attack?  Are they such ideological zealots that they are willing to gamble on their dogmatic peacenik orthodoxy with the lives of three hundred million people?  Or are they as eager to see America destroyed as our enemies - their friends - are?

Either way, the scattered survivors of this looming Armageddon will see the election of Barack Obama as president of the late, great United States as the suicide pact it always was, and will soon become.

Fraternal Order Of Police Demands Independent Prosecutor Replace Compromised Marilyn Mosby; Mosby Angrily Refuses

Racist revenge, the new "justice":

The announcement today by Maryland state’s attorney for Baltimore, Marilyn J. Mosby of numerous charges brought against the six officers purportedly involved in the death of Freddie Gray is rich in political theater and shockingly lacking in evidence of criminal malfeasance.

A solid foundation for this having been a partisan political, rather than reasoned legal, decision is laid out succinctly by the counsel for the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police…

Gray family lawyer William Murphy is reported by the Baltimore Sun newspaper to have contributed $5,000 to Prosecutor Mosby’s political campaign [and served on her transition committee....].

Prosecutor Mosby’s husband, a city council member, has been prominently present at the riots, and commenting on them in a manner suggesting that the acts of violence are understandable:….

Prosecutor Mosby promptly refused the call for an independent prosecutor, stating, "The people of Baltimore City elected me and there is no accountability with a special prosecutor."

Which suggests she realizes the lightning-rod whirlwind she's letting herself in for, but thinks she's going to reap glory instead.

In addition, the New York Times recounting of the charges specific by Mrs. Mosby seems both inconsistent and contradictory, as well as largely lacking in specifying actual criminal conduct.

I warned earlier today that this indictment avalanche announcement reeked of over-charging against cops not seen since the 1992 Rodney King episode in Los Angeles, whether as directly attempted retribution for Freddie Gray's death (which the rhetoric of her announcement - "“To the people of Baltimore and demonstrators across America, I heard your call for ‘No Justice, No peace.'  Your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of this young man.” - strongly suggests) or as bait, once an even semi-sane jury laughs most or all of the charges out of court, for riots and violence and a mass uprising orders of magnitude more intense than the outbreaks this week.  That Mrs. Mosby has multiple hilarious conflicts of interest, that she's going to be doing her level best to make this a kangaroo court, an exercise in Cardassian justice, a railroading that would put Burlington Northern to shame, is so obligatory that it almost doesn't merit mentioning.

And that, of course, is why she balked at recusal and appointing an independent prosecutor.  If she did that, an objective replacement might whittle down significantly the number of charges to bring the cases more in line with the evidence, or even drop some cases altogether.  It would no longer, in other words, be a political star chamber show trial, or a high profile mass lynching, but merely a normal functioning of the criminal justice system highly unlikely to feed the Black Klan mob's bloodlust.  And, having already promised them all six police heads on spikes for them to place soccer with, Mrs. Mosby can't risk anything like that happening, now can she?

The only thing the surprises me about this story?  Three of the six cops charged are black.  Which, I guess, means that any African-American who goes into law enforcement might just as well join the Tea Party because they're "officially" forfeiting their "racial authenticity" anyway.

If any of you had any plans to travel to Baltimore in the near future, I strongly recommend you cancel them.  That is not a place anybody needs to be for the foreseeable future.

Iranian Houthi "Rebels" Massing To Invade Saudi Arabia

Remember a while back, when Iran demanded an immediate halt to the Saudi-led Operation Decisive Storm, which was making some headway in reversing the conquests of the former's Houthi proxies?  The Saudis idiotically complied and let the diplomats provide cover for the latter to rest, recover, and rearm.  And, to borrow Will Smith's post-neuralization vehicle from Men In Black III, this is what we get: Houthi attacks into Saudi Arabia itself:

The end of Saudi-led coalition’s combat operations associated with Operation Decisive Strom led many Western observers to conclude that the war against Iran-backed Houthi rebels was winding down. Even though the Saudis insisted that the succeeding combat mission, Operation Renewed Hope, would be characterized by sustained airstrikes on Houthi positions, Western observers held out hope that the worst was over.

That hasn’t proven to be the case.

For the first time since the war in Yemen began, the rebel faction supported by Tehran mounted a coordinated counterattack against a Saudi position on the border. “Three Saudi troops and ‘dozens’ of Houthi rebels were killed as Saudi forces repelled a major attack from inside Yemen, Saudi officials say,” the BBC reported on Friday.

“There have been deadly skirmishes before but this is the first time the Saudi military has reported a full-scale Huthi attack on its borders,” an AFP dispatch confirmed.

I'm not sick to death of Iranian BS; I expect that.  Nothing the mullahs do ought to surprise anybody, once everybody is willing to come to grips with and accept the reality of what the mullahs are: lying, apocalyptic, Naziesque, mass-murdering, theocratic lunatics bent on dominating the planet and genociding any who will not convert to Islam.  I'm sick to death of all people who are unwilling to come to grips with and accept that reality, who are ALL in power in this country, and selling out it and all its former allies and pretty much the entire non-Muslim world to the mullahs (and ISIS) in the most dishonest, honorless, most treacherous way humanly imaginable.

You know how William Shakespeare wrote about abolishing all lawyers?  I have a better idea: abolish all "diplomats," (their jobs) and all "diplomacy," especially "diplomacy" urged and demanded by lying, apocalyptic, Naziesque, mass-murdering, theocratic lunatics bent on dominating the planet and genociding any who will not convert to Islam.  I'm not kidding.  Don't try to "reform" the State Commissariat; abolish it.  Get rid of it.  Let tank armies and dozens of carrier battle groups and orbiting weapons platforms and fleets of fifth-generation warplanes and hordes of SEALS and Delta Force and Rangers (deployed against our enemies, not against us) do our talking for us by making Saddamesque examples of ISIS, the mullahs, and any other enemy whose sights and ambitions have been excessively raised by Barack Obama's Ameriphobic perfidies.

With the mullahs and the Sunni Islamist "strong horse" dispatched before they can EMP us, perhaps the message would be received by larger enemies in Moscow and Beijing that their window of opportunity is once against closed.  It would do wonders for our diplomatic capabilities.

But I suspect that, just like our (depending upon your age) grandparents and great-grandparents who had to learn the folly of pacifism at the cost of a second global conflagration that took sixty million lives before the advent of nuclear weapons, so shall it be with this generation today.  Except the price tag may not be affordable, or even survivable.

Baltimore "Social Justice": Black "Students" Pulp Elderly White Man In His Home

Okay, Richard Fletcher was only sixty-one, and looked - past tense - to be in pretty good shape for a geezer.

....and his fellow pack mates took it upon themselves to age him at least twenty years in as many minutes, if not murder him outright:

Baltimore County police said officers were called just before 1 p.m. Wednesday to the 500 block of 45th Street in Dundalk, where a 61-year-old [white] man noticed two [black] girls fighting near his truck. He went outside to break up the fight and then was attacked by a large group of [black] juveniles who were watching. ……

Joe Lamb, who owns a business next door to the victim’s home, caught the whole act on his surveillance camera.

While he couldn't give 11 News permission to show the video because police asked him not to, he did share a still photo that shows a bunch of juveniles rushing the scene.

“He had to get blood transfusion, (had) blood on his brain, stitches (on his) face and nose and broken ribs,” Lamb said.

The victim was in critical condition in a medically induced coma Friday, but 11 News learned Monday that he has been released from the hospital.

“The kids walk on top of cars, kick dogs, let dogs out, throw trash, steal milk from school and throw it at houses, threaten neighbors with bodily harm,” Lamb said.

"Model citizens," in other words.  And really, there are no other words allowed.  You can't even use the word "thug" anymore, since that's now been designated as yet another "racist codeword".  So it's "model citizen," or "unarmed black youth" or "underprivileged tyke".  To accurate describe these rabid animals is "racist," and renders you even more guilty and deserving of Mr. Fletcher's fate.

This is what we're to understand: Black youths are entitled to fight anywhere they want, and white people have no say about it.  If they'd decided to scuffle in Mr. Fletcher's living room, they'd have been entitled to do so, trash his house, bleed all over the carpet if it struck their fancy, and Mr. Fletcher obligated to watch it all, and maybe get the crap beaten out of him anyway if the black youths felt like it.  Because they're black and he's white, which means they are entitled to do and say anything they want, the law be damned, and he's deserving of anything and everything they choose to do to him.  Indeed, the "official" line is that Mr. Lawson and is "colleagues" demonstrated their generous mercy by letting Mr. Fletcher live.  Something they won't do next time after they're acquitted of aggravated assault charges and released.  After all, if they can't off the cops who "racistly" arrested them, some crackers will have to pay the price, and really, any white person will do.  And they already know where Mr. Fletcher lives, after all.

And when they massacre him horribly, will there be anything like the raging, violent, insurrectionary mania that erupted about Michel Brown or Eric Garner or Freddie Gray?  No, there will not, because Mr. Fletcher will have deserved to die in agony, and his entire family with him, and his murderers will deserve to be treated like avenging heroes, because, slavery and "social justice".

The only ones who would have mourned Richard Fletcher, in other words, will be dead right alongside him.

This is race war forced upon a politically disfavored "ethnic persuasion" by a politically favored "ethnic persuasion".  And if the next Richard Fletcher decides to break up the fight using his truck rather than expose himself to attempted murder?  Do I even have to ask that question?

Taliban Waning: ISIS Rapidly Conquering Afghanistan

Take a look at this ISIS map.  It shows their initial territorial objectives, not unlike Mein Kampf laid out Adolph Hitler's lebensraum goals for the first phase of his war for eventual Nazi global conquest.  And the Islamic State is no less ambitious: half of Africa, Spain, Portugal, the Balkans and southeastern Europe up to the Danube, Turkey, the Caucasus, the entire Middle East, a goodly chunk of southern Russia (in addition to the "'stan" countries), India, and significant slice of western China as well.  Without taking the time to tally up the square mileage involved, I'd say that's territory approaching, if not exceeding, the size of the continental United States.  Which is doubtless in the next phase of ISIS's conquest timetable.

Silly?  Impossible?  Well, they've taken much of north and west Africa, the Sinai Peninsula, the horn of Africa (Somalia), they're in Yemen, they control most of Syria and Iraq, and now they are supplanting - or assimilating - the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan:

New photos purport to show ISIS fighters training at a terrorist camp in Afghanistan, near the Pakistani border, in what may be yet another sign of the black-clad jihadist army's expanding reach.

The pictures, obtained by a Pakistani journalist earlier this month and published by the military blog The Long War Journal, show apparent ISIS radicals training, marching in formation and brandishing heavy artillery.

So-called analysts, displaying "the Generals' Folly" of always fighting the last war, persist in dismissing ISIS's break-neck (no pun intended) expansion, showing only that they don't understand what is really happening.  This is not a conventional war of aggression as was fought in the past.  Twenty-first century wars are fought on many fronts - social media most especially - besides the battlefield.  And even the battlefield isn't one of any rules or honor or the most minimalist displays or allowances of humanity.  It is dirty, it is brutal, it is savage, it is bloodthirsty, it is viscerally shocking, and it is meant to terrify and quail the "infidel" enemy into quivering submission and surrender.  It is, in other words, precisely the type of war at which the soft, decadent, culturally self-gutted West, and most especially Obamerikastan, sucks.  Which is why the Islamic State is fighting it.

It isn't that the Islamic State is invading Afghanistan or anywhere else; it's that their "brand" is spreading around the world like a virus, a plague, filling up the "empty vessels," and those not sufficiently overflowing, literally with Satan's seed:

Foreign militants fighting under the black flag of ISIS are conquering territory in northern Afghanistan, terrorizing residents and outmatching the Taliban's brutality, villagers and local officials told NBC News.

The development suggests ISIS is expanding its sphere of influence beyond the Middle East and North Africa, and are moving into areas previously controlled by the Afghan Taliban.

Most of the fighters hail from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the Caucuses — and are even more brutal than the Afghan Taliban, according to local lawmakers, police and residents interviewed by NBC News....

In addition to its campaign of terror in Iraq and Syria, ISIS's media arm announced in January that the group had designated Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan as the province of Khorasan — the name given to a historic area covering part of modern-day Iran, Afghanistan and India.

ISIS is the strong horse of the Global Jihad.  They are in the ascendancy.  They have accomplished more, conquered more territory, slaughtered more infidels, than al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, et al combined, in not even a year and a half.  Is it any wonder that they are spreading, unchecked, absorbing one jihadist network after another?  And given that trend, and the accelerating decline of the West, and especially Obamerikastan, if you were an objective alien observer, would you bet against the Islamic State reaching its initial territorial objectives?  And all the ones to follow?

And is it not a simultaneously hilarious and cruel irony that the dwindling residual U.S. military presence is being dragged, kicking and screaming, back into the spiraling fighting in Afghanistan, no matter what King Hussein has decreed?

Exit question: Care to take odds on how soon O will order a complete emergency withdrawal from Afghanistan, regardless of circumstances on the ground, regardless of timetables, agreements, or anything else?  I'd say by Memorial Day is not out of the question.

It’s got plenty to offer the blue-collar Republicans whom Huckabee’s targeting — promises of wage growth, a solemn vow to protect America’s unsustainable entitlements, and a little saber-rattling at ISIS and other jihadi[st] menaces. Guess what, socon Huckalytes?  Your "pastor" now takes you for granted and is off to pander to the the pole-smokers, carpet-munchers, baby-killers, and Christian-persecutors, all as the country's economic walls come a-tumblin' down like the walls of Jericho themselves.  If this doesn't teach my wayward brothers and sisters about the folly of single-issue candidacies, I don't know what will.

On the bright side, of course, this further packs the RINO side of the nominating stable, a welcome development after the clutter on the "light side" caused by the ego-trips of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio (I know, he's kind of in no-man's land, but I had to put him someplace).  Though I'm still dreading what the sight of that enormous debate stage packed to overflowing with GOP presidential "hopefuls" will do to my blood pressure.

Doubling Down: Black Baltimore DA Charges Six Cops With Freddie Gray's "Murder"

Remember what triggered the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles twenty-three years ago?  Over-charging.  Were the police officers who delivered his beat-down criminally liable?  Absolutely.  But they were charged with attempted murder, a ridiculous charge not remotely supported by the evidence, instead of assault, which the evidence did support.  Make the charge fit the crime, and the cops in question would have been convicted, and that would have been the end of it.  But no, the process just HAD to be politicized, and the defendants made an example of, more than a little figuratively blooded, gutted, and hung for lynching by the Black Klan, as well as, of course, hung around the "racist red" neck of an embattled GOP president (Bush41) desperately trying to win re-election at the time.  And when the jury wouldn't get with the racist Democrat program and delivered acquittals instead, the verdict was twisted to mean "not guilty of beating Rodney King," and the riots were off and looting/burning/mugging/assaulting.

Here, in Marilyn Mosby's thunderous indictments, is an instant replay in the making.  Misconduct in office, assault, and even manslaughter may or may not be ultimately supportable, but murder?  That reeks of vengeful absurdity.  And yet it is the charge that will get the most publicity, because it is the one designed to raise the expectations of the rioters that the State will do to the cops what the Maryland National Guard stopped them from doing: exacting blood revenge, not just on the defendants, but on "white America" in general.  And if the jury doesn't play ball on every last count, but especially on the murder charge, it will trigger a raging uprising that will make this week's riots look like nap time at a narcolepsy clinic.

Precisely as it is designed to do.  Unless Miss Mosby tampers with and stacks the jury sufficiently to guarantee the verdicts she's looking for.  Because, after all, only members of the "right tribe" are entitled to "justice".

Rule of Law Versus the Rule of Man

Frederic Bastiat said, "When law and morality contradicts each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law."

The rule of law, according to historical sources, carries with it an important connection to, as the Declaration of Independence puts it, the "Laws of Nature of Nature's God."  Natural Law, and the rights of the people that Nature's God entitles them to, are self-evident, and are "endowed" upon humanity by "their Creator."

The rule of man, however, is when people who believe themselves to be members of a powerful ruling elite dictate the nature of law, changing it at political whim, or to gain populist approval by altering the law outside the processes provided as a result of the whims of culture and society.  These kinds of changes are performed not by amending the United States Constitution, or following the process of making law through the representation of We the People, but by the orders of politicians, judges, and regulatory agencies.

When a society abandons the rule of law as established by a written constitution, refusing to use the processes of law, but instead change the law through other means, which is to embrace the rule of man rather than the rule of law, it is not very long before that society dances around the proverbial golden calf.

The Law of the Land is the standard from which the rule of law must be administered, and in America the law of the land is the United States Constitution.  With the Constitution comes processes regarding legislative powers, executive powers and judicial powers (all of which are supposed to be separate powers by separate branches of government that are not constitutionally allowed to collude with each other, or operate outside the authorities granted to them), as well as processes involving amending the Constitution, and processes that originally allowed the State legislatures to also be involved in the governing of the union of States.  However, through a usurpation of the United States Constitution, the federal government has circumvented the Constitution, enacting their own processes through the rule of man.

We must be reminded that as government acts in an unconstitutional manner, it is up to the citizens to set government back on the correct path.  After all, the Preamble of the United States Constitution does not begin "We the Politicians," or "We the Judges," or even "We the Ruling Elite."  The first three words of the Preamble of the Constitution are "We the People."

BREAKING: Russia Might, Just Might, Be Behind Its Own Invasion Of Ukraine

I can't beat Noah Rothman's lede: "Sometimes a concession is so belated that later is not markedly better than never."

In this case, it's the Obama State Commissariat's partial, maniacally grudging, kicking-and-screaming admission that Vladimir Putin, might, after all, kinda-sorta have something tangentially to do with any hypothetical connection to his slow-motion overrunning of Ukraine that has been unfolding for over a year:

The United States is changing its language to reflect the depth of Russian involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The Associated Press reported on April 30th that U.S. officials briefed on intelligence from the region say Russia has significantly deepened its command and control of separatist forces in recent months.

That has led the United States to quietly introduce a new term "combined Russian-separatist forces."

The State Department used the expression three times in a single statement last week, lambasting Moscow and the "rebels" for a series of cease-fire violations.

AP says U.S. intelligence agencies signed off on the new language last week, after what officials described as increasing evidence of the Russians and separatists working together, training together, and operating under a joint command structure that ultimately answers to Russia.

Which is exactly what one would expect of a Russian invasion.  But forgive the digression.

"Combined Russian-separatist forces" is still a half-truth, as there is not the slightest distinction between the two.  But from a bunch that still insists that "the Islamic State isn't Islamic," this does constitute nomenclature progress of a sort.  Although it does still beg the question of what Barack Obama will be calling Russian forces when they accept his unconditional surrender on the White House lawn.  "Liberators," I suppose.

Meanwhile, NATO Supreme Allied Commander and Air Force General Philip Breedlove seems hellbent on committing career suicide:

NATO Supreme Allied Commander General Philip Breedlove is taking his tough talk about the situation in Ukraine to Congress. This week, the Air Force general warned that the renewed violence in that former Soviet Republic signaled the start of a new offensive by Russian....forces, and the United States must respond to the threat posed by Russia by increasing its deterrent capabilities in the region.

“We also know [Vladimir] Putin only responds to strength and seeks opportunities in weakness,” the NATO commander said. “We must strengthen our deterrence in order to manage his opportunistic confidence.”

Breedlove observed that post-Cold War cuts to American defense posture in Europe have likely emboldened Russia’s leader and enabled his ambitious European adventurism. “The forces in Europe over the last twenty years have been sized for a situation where we were looking at Russia as a partner,” he remarked. “What we see now is that Russia has demonstrated it is not a partner.”

That is what is known as "leaving the reservation".  Or "freelancing".  Or "going into business for yourself".  Or "committing professional hari-kari".  Expect there to be a new NATO Supreme Allied Commander in the very near future, one that will not take his job seriously and will parrot the pro-Russian, pro-Putin Obamunist party line.  Because the one thing that O will never, ever do is the one thing - several things, actually - that should obviously be done: arm the Ukrainians, thus complicating and ratcheting up the price of Putin's conquest there; begin (belated) exports of liquified natural gas to the Euros to kneecap their distended energy dependency upon Moscow and therefore, Czar Vlad's leverage over NATO member states; and, if you're a fan of sanctions, get serious with them by targeting and shutting down Russia's energy and financial sectors - in essence, their entire economy.  And most of all, be ready, willing, and able, to go to war with Putin if necessary, which, at this late stage, is the only thing that will deter him from delivering his planned NATO-destroying coup de grace.

But then there's that niggling matter of all those "post-Cold War cuts to American defense posture" that The One put on maximum overdrive over six years ago.  Which means even if he was willing to militarily confront Vlad, we are neither ready nor able, a condition of harrowing prostration and impotence that will long outlive the Obamidency, even if President Precious leaves office when he's constitutionally supposed to.  And he wears his unwillingness bedazzled on his mom jeans.

Which makes this half-hearted concession of monikerred reality cruelly ironic.  Because after we've been conquered - whether by the Russians or the ChiComms or the Global Caliphate or some combination of the above - it won't matter what their accurate description will be, because we'll be forced to call them whatever they command us to call them.

Exit question: What do you think they'll do with Barry?  I hope we're allowed to live long enough to find out.

The Permanent Crash

There will come a day, not to long from this one, when there will be a stock market crash.  Now, sure, there have been such crashes before; they used to call them "panics" in the 1800s, and despite the "New Deal" and the rise of the Marxist super-state, they kept periodically happening right on through the twentieth century as well, 1929, 1987 being the most well-known examples.  And the cycle kept right on going into the third millennium with 2000, 2001, and 2008.

The next one, as pretty much everybody without an Obama swoosh-tattoo agrees, is immiment:

With the S&P 500 index hovering less than 2% below its record high, many market participants are calling for a correction of about 10%. Marc Faber, editor of The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, is calling for a little more than that.

"For the last two years, I've been thinking that U.S. stocks are due for a correction," he told CNBC. "But I always say a bubble is a bubble, and if there's no correction, the market will go up. And one day it will go down, big-time."

So what's big-time?

"The market is in a position where it's not just going to be a 10% correction," Faber said. "Maybe it first goes up a bit further, but when it comes, it will be 30% or 40% minimum."

And you can thank central banks around the world, whose massive easing campaigns have left "all assets grossly overvalued," Faber noted. [emphasis added]

40% at minimum, hm?  That would mean a DJIA down under 11,000 from its current level of roughly 18,000.  I wonder how many trillions that will wipe out of people's retirement nest eggs, 401(k)s, IRAs, stock portfolios, etc.

Well, for those that have taken a stab at saving for retirement and haven't had the sense to get out of the market, as I did four years ago, they'll be demolished, wiped out, for the second time in under a decade.  But it won't be nearly the calamity that it was in 2008, because, you see, a lot of people never recovered their decimated nest eggs from seven years ago and even today have no savings left at all:

There is a financial crisis on the horizon. It is a crisis that all the central bank interventions in the world cannot cure. It is a financial crisis that will continue to change the economic landscape of America for decades to come.

No, I am not talking about the next Lehman event or the next financial market meltdown, although something akin to both will happen in the not-so-distant future. It is the lack of financial stability of the current, and next, generation that will shape the American landscape in the future.

The nonprofit National Institute on Retirement Security released a study in March stating that nearly forty million working-age households (about 45% of the U.S. total) have no retirement savings at all. And those that do have retirement savings don't have enough. As I discussed recently, the Federal Reserve's 2013 Survey of consumer finances found that the mean holdings for families with retirement accounts was only $201,000.

Such levels of financial "savings" are hardly sufficient to support individuals through retirement. This is particularly the case as life expectancy has grown, and healthcare costs skyrocket in the latter stages of life due historically high levels of obesity and poor physical health. The lack of financial stability will ultimately shift almost entirely onto the already grossly underfunded welfare system. [emphases added]

For the record, my retirement nest egg is more than twice the mean holdings reference in the quote.  That's the good news.  The bad news is, I was involuntarily "retired" a year and a half ago, and it has to cover an extra fifteen years, or something like twice as long as it was supposed to (unless, of course, Constitution Radio hits its big, in which case, never mind).

At any rate, there's a key term above that is phrased bass-ackwardly: "grossly underfunded welfare system".  No, Mr. Roberts, the welfare system is not "grossly underfunded"; it is grossly over-funded.  The problem is that is is grossly over-utilized.  The "safety net" that is supposed to be a measure of last resort has, along with the aforementioned fiat-currency-fueled equities bubble, become the U.S. economy.  Put still another way, what we think of as the "productive" private sector - call it "Wall Street" - is nothing but a lot of air and houses of cards waiting for the slightest breeze to knock them all over, and "Main Street" is, to an unprecedented degree, without work, without hope, spending each day sitting naked it their bean bag chairs eating Cheetos and watching Family Guy re-runs.  And the almighty Obamunist public sector, accursed be its name, worlds without end, hallelujah amen?  Knocking on the door of twenty trillion dollars of "official" debt, plus an additional $222 trillion of unfunded entitlement liabilities that will never, EVER be paid, because the entire country long before then will collapse into an economic dark age that will make the (first) Great Depression look like Daffy Duck diving naked into the Genie's fortune, and from which there will be no escape, ever,  because there will be nobody to bail us out, because the rest of the world will be dragged down with us.

No way out.  The population is "graying," over a hundred million elderly Americans will be expecting to be propped up by fifty-three Burger King clerks who'll all be illegal aliens anyway, and what young people there are will all be ignorant, radicalized Obamunist drones anyway.

And what will start this brutal implosion that will last decades and even centuries without interruption, recovery, or relief?  A stock market crash, for which there will be no remedy, because the Federal Reserve has already exhausted the "print money like there's no tomorrow" option, zero interest rates which have destroyed any incentive to save yet made U.S. debt instruments the financial equivalent of leprosy, four and a half trillion dollars of monetized debt, that term rendered functionally meaningless because the dollar is worth less than the toilet paper I used to wipe my ass three hours ago, which renders the U.S. debt it purportedly "purchased" equally as worthless.

At some point in the near future, the market is going to wake up from this debt binge, groggy and bleary-eyed and hung over like its tongue was used for an Arab welcome mat, and realize that nothing in this entire economy has any value anymore - N-O-T-H-I-N-G.  And then it will all collapse.  It will all fall apart.  And all King Hussein's horses, and all King Hussein's pajama androgynes, will not be able to put this Humpty Dumpty economy back together again.

Nor will they ever try, because this is the result toward which they, and he, have been working for six and a half years.

Ask yourself this question: What happens in a nationwide calamity of that magnitude?  People are scared, people are desperate, people don't know what to do - especially if they've been infantilized by the government for their entire lives - and they {drumroll please} cry out for their elected leaders to "do something"!  Never bothering, of course, to grasp that they're in that prostrated position because of what the government has already done to them for years and years and years, and the degree of power and liberty they will have to give up at their "leaders' " "request" to "do something".

Such a crisis, exploited masterfully by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, started American down this tyrannical road.  Another such crisis put in power his bookend successor Barack Hussein Obama, the man who, with the looming Final Crisis, will finish that process, that "journey," and the remaining, tattered vestiges of the moribund Old American Republic right along with it.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."  He believed that this, a violent revolution to overthrow fresh American tyrannies, would be necessary every generation.  He would find it astonishing that the country he helped birth and guide and lead has lasted almost a quarter of a millennium without one.

He would also say we're way, way overdue.

Baltimore Violence Spills Into May Day

May Day is historically a day for the workers of the world to unite, and march.  In other words, a call for socialism.  In the 2016 campaign picture, Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist, has decided to run as a Democrat for the presidency.  As Newsweek said when Obama took office, "We are all socialists now."

Socialism is also the drive behind the rotting of America, the upheaval in politics, the killing of liberty, and the riots we've been experiencing, be it Ferguson, or Baltimore.  The socialism behind the violence among the black population is specifically called "Black Nationalism," and Black Nationalism is the cancer that destroyed Detroit, and the cancer that fuels the New Black Panthers.

Big Government, Socialism, Communism, Leftism, Progressivism, or whatever you want to call it, cannot win in the theater of ideas.  The agenda is too radical, and historically a failure.  That is why the force of law is used to push its agenda.

The takeover of healthcare in America by the government through the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) came with it a mandate to "force" Americans to buy health insurance.  When considering the case as Obamacare headed into the court system, Virginia's Attorney General described the battle as being a determination on if Congress has the constitutional "power to force one citizen to purchase a good or service."

On the abortion front, MSNBC has called for doctors to be "forced" to perform abortions.

Gun Control activists advocate for the personal property of law abiding citizens to be forcibly confiscated, and for their gun control agenda to be "forced" into place.  Any resistance, according to these people, should be met with threats and violence.

The New York Times has a writer who has determined Christians must be "forced" to accept the homosexual lifestyle.

Divide and Conquer, that is how the socialists operate.  Divide, conquer, and then apply their socialist agenda by force (in the guise that it is for the "common good").

Which brings us to the violence in Baltimore, Ferguson, and what we've been seeing across this nation under the watch of President Barack Obama.

Obama campaigned on being the kind of guy that could unite the country.  He told us there is no red and blue, not black and white, and no left or right.  We are all just Americans.  He was right, except he was lying regarding his take on all of that.  Since in office, President Barack Obama has fomented division, and his minions have put out the message that anybody that dares to stand against the first black president of the United States in our short history is a racist.  Disagree with Obama's socialism?  You're automatically a racist.  Have a problem with his handling of foreign affairs?  Racist.  Are you a Republican, Tea Party member, or constitutionalist that dares to utter that the actions of Obama are unconstitutional?  Racist, racist, and yes, another racist.

The black community, or at least a large portion of blacks in America, have been convinced by all of these calls of racism that Americans in general are inherently racist.  The words "Republican," "Conservative," and "Tea Party" are all synonymous with "racism."  Now, all you have to be is "white," and you are automatically a racist.  With that stuck in the heads of the black youth around America, of course they are angry.  Of course they are ready to lash out.  Of course Black Nationalism appeals to them.  Everyone around them, as far as they are concerned, are racist, and it has to stop.

Except, they've been fed bogus information, by design.  America's black population is being played by the very Democrats that claim to be in their corner, and they are being played by the Black Nationalists that promise peace and prosperity for blacks in this country.

Under Obama the racial divide has widened, and the unemployment rate for black America has skyrocketed.  Black America is being used as a tool for the rise of the Left's socialist dreams.  To the delight of Leftist Statist Socialist Progressives that reside in the realm of the political ruling elite, blacks in this country are willing to become destructive, destroy their own neighborhoods, and kill those who get in the way, at the smallest instigation by the racists of leftism, so that they may raise for themselves, in America, with their own hands, the red flag of socialism.

What amazes me most is how obvious the marionette strings are over the heads of the rioting members of the black community, yet they can't see the puppeteers strings, nor are they willing to even notice if the strings are there.  They are being played by the Left, and become angry if you dare point out the truth.

Obama White House Tries To Suppress Fears About Operation Jade Helm

We helped break this story over a month ago, and it looks like it's gotten some pretty muscular legs judging by the Obama Regime's suddenly frantic attempts to pooh-pooh its most obvious features:

The White House is trying to reassure the public and the governor of Texas that a special U.S. military training operation in the Southwest will not pose a threat to residents amid speculation that it could amount to a federal takeover.

"In no way will the constitutional rights or civil liberties of any American citizen be infringed upon while this exercise is being conducted," said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, according to the Washington Times. [emphasis added]

Note the qualification.  Nobody has really expressed fears and anxieties about the abrogation of constitutional rights and civil liberties from Operation Jade Helm itself; what We, The People find suspicious and "concerning" is that for which it sure as shinola looks like a preparatory dress rehearsal: the near-future imposition of martial law in large parts, or perhaps the entirety, of the United States as part of Barack Obama's presidency-for-life-clinching coup de tat in advance of the 2016 election that may never be allowed to take place.

Texas Governor Greg Abbot has certainly noticed, and isn't sitting back dociley and waiting to be taken into federal custody:

[C]ritics and conspiracy theorists have cited a range of concerns, prompting Texas Governor Greg Abbott to order the Texas State Guard to monitor the operation.

In a letter to Major-General Gerald Betty of the Texas State Guard, Abbott said he was taking the action "to address concerns of Texas citizens," according to the Times.

"During the training operation, it is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed," the governor wrote. "I am directing the Texas State Guard to monitor Operation Jade Helm 15."

O's Pentagon yes-men continue to try to claim that infiltrating American towns and communities commando-style as if they were enemy territory is "routine" and "valuable in preparing soldiers for real missions.  But as I pointed out five weeks ago:

How does it enhance special ops training in foreign lands to attempt to infiltrate one's own country? Shouldn't the latter be vastly easier than the former? Don't they already know the language, the pop culture, the local "slang", etc.? Hell's teeth, I myself would stand an at least decent chance of "infiltrating" the American southwest, it seems to me. The only way in which Rangers and SEALs and Delta Force guys could blow their "cover" is if they caused the locals to wonder what in the world they're doing...well, "infiltrating" their own country.

Locals such as Bob Wells:

"It's the same thing that happened in Nazi Germany," Bob Wells of Bastrop, Texas, told the Austin American-Statesman, according to the Times.

"You get the people used to the troops on the street, the appearance of uniformed troops and the militarization of the police. They're gathering intelligence. That's what they're doing. And they're moving logistics in place for martial law. That's my feeling. Now I could be wrong. I hope I am wrong. I hope I'm a 'conspiracy theorist.' "

I hope so, too, Bob.  But the logic of conspiracies dictates that the more unlikely and inconceivable a conspiracy appears to be, the more likely and inevitable it really is.

And this one is taking place right out in the open, for We, The People to ignore at our peril.
