Killing Christians



In Afghanistan the Taliban is holding hostage members of a South Korean Foreign Ministry. The South Korean Christians were abducted more than two weeks ago and two hostages were killed because the Afghan government will not release Taliban prisoners in exchange for hostages. Last Wednesday the insurgents killed the first hostage, the male leader of the group. The second slain hostage was found Tuesday in a village. He was a former technology worker who volunteered with the South Korean church group on an aid mission to Afghanistan.

Darfur, Sudan has endured four years of fighting that has resulted in more than 200,000 deaths. The United Nations has decided to send a 26,000-strong peacekeeping force to Darfur in hopes to help end the fighting. If this U.N. force is a feeble as the U.N. forces of the past in other world situations, there will be no progress. What I find interesting is that Saddam committing genocide against his own people was not reason enough to get involved, but Darfur is. Don't get me wrong, the Darfur situation is grave, but one wonders about priorities when it comes to the United Nothing. . .oops, I mean Nations.

Here's what really fascinates me. The Taliban is killing people there to aid the people, and in Darfur anybody offering aid is normally killed. Hard to understand that mentality.

Anyway, one thing is for sure, you can't negotiate with Terrorists. To negotiate now will send the message that taking hostages and killing innocent people will get the enemy what they wish for.

Sharia Law enforced in America!






However, if a young college student of Pace University from Brooklyn drops the Koran in the toilet he is arrested for committing a hate crime, and could face jail-time.


And according to Little Green Footballs, The Council on American Islamic Relations is so ecstatic to see shari'a being enforced by US police that they've put up two articles about it:

Now, I don't know what the liberal stance is on this, but apparently the libs have a lot of misguided ideas on who the enemy is.


On another Blog an anti-Christian Lefty decided to tear into the writer with his position on Christianity, using arguments that are not only wrong, but common. I've heard them all, being a Christian Conservative.


Here's a quick rundown of his rant.


okay listen here you hypocritically (hmmm, and people criticize me for my rare misspellings) pieces of trash, you guys (I assume Christians) really piss me off, you bash on gays (wrong, I hate nobody, but based on my faith feel that homosexuality is an immoral choice of lifestyle) and yet your leaders rape boys (I am not Catholic, so my leaders are not doing such, but even so, it is horrible it happens, but the choice of those men is their independent decision and not biblical and a whole faith cannot be judged upon the poor choices of a few men), you try to get into state to force us non believers to believe (no, Christianity is preached so that you may know, but the choice is yours), I'll (I corrected this one, the misspelling was just too atrocious) tell you why you believe god (notice it is lower case) exists, because you Christians cant comprehend death (I comprehend death, and rejoice knowing that my life here is but a short moment in a much longer existence), when you die there is no pearly gates (the Pearly Gates are not Biblical, and are nothing more than part of a story for children), just black (if that's the case, then we are both in the same boat, but if that's not the case, you are the one in big trouble), nothing more, nothing less. i believe jessus was a good teacher, but a lier (Jesus was a good teacher because He's God in the flesh, and not capable of lying). he had good ideas but you had to build a belief structure around it (the belief structure is based upon His teachings and the letters of the early church primarily written by Paul). im not saying your guys are bad, or good (afraid of offending?) its just that i hate you recruiters (there are no recruiters. Christians have been tasked with spreading the good news. It is up to the listeners whether to believe or not believe - free will), let me believe what i believe (you are entitled, God Bless)


Cute. Well, his accusations are wrong and should be more pointed toward the Islamists that wish to convert you to Islam, or behead you.


Whatever happened to liberals proclaiming "I am willing to shout from the highest mountain to defend your right to believe what you believe and practice your faith?"


Apparently, the libs think that Islamism takes preference.

Sarah Palin

I have returned from the heat of Sin City unscathed, just in time to host my Blog Talk Radio Show, Political Pistachio Radio. Today's guest is Stephen R. Maloney who is one of the national coordinators for Sarah Palin for Vice-President on the Republican national ticket.

Steve is a former college teacher of English and a writer for many publications (including Fortune and the American Spectator). He wrote speeches for many large corporations and has been a political activist involved in many campaigns, starting with Newt Gingrich in the 70's and extending through the Diana Lynn Irey campaign last year.

Sarah Palin is the current Governor of Alaska (the 11th), and is youngest governor in Alaska's history, as well as the first female to hold the office. She is the former mayor of Wasilla, AK. Palin steadfastly maintains that she is a conservative, evidenced by her strong position on abortion (she is pro-life) and she opposes same-sex marriage.

Steve will be available to not only help us with learning about this fascinating candidate, but perhaps to also educated us on her stance regarding certain issues. And with a little luck, perhaps we will be able to get Sarah on the show in the near future as well.

Postive Role Models

What kind of role model would you like your child to look up to? Definitely not Michael Vick.

A good role model is someone with good morals. But what are good morals? In todays society the definition of morality has been clounded. To me, good morality is about being honest, doing the right thing, and not being selfish. In my opinion, the example of morals should be portrayed by the parent, not some over paid sport star.

I am Mrs. Pistachio, and that is my opinion.

Mrs. Pistachio on Teachers and Parents

As most of you already know Doug will be out of town for the rest of the week. This is Mrs. Pistachio, and I will be writing the posts on Political Pistachio until he gets back.

Most teachers work very hard at what they do. I know that I worked very hard and enjoyed it most of the time, except when kids were defiant and the child's parent had to be called in to help resolve the situation. But we live in the real world, and teachers don't have the luxury to stop class and pick up the phone to call the parent when the child behavior is unacceptable. That is because now these days both parents work fulltime jobs and are not home until late more often not. But, regardless on where you wish to teach in regards to public or private schools, the responsiblity is on the teacher, unfortunately, to act both as teacher and parent because parents are not able to be as involved as they once were. It's a sad thing that parents have decided to relinqish their parental responsibilities to a school system with less at stake in the success of the child, thus burdening in already struggling system.

Governor James Gilmore Follow-up, Tammy Faye Dies, and Mrs. Pistachio runs Political Pistachio

Tonight's Political Pistachio Radio, which is now playing on the media player on this site, was a successful broadcast. Governor James Gilmore, one of the major players in the Republican Party, took time from his busy schedule to be a part of the program. We spoke with him about his recent withdrawal from the Presidential Race, as well as his position on a number of issues, including the war on terror and the immigration issue. Listener participation was amazing. I had a number of callers submit questions to Mr. Gilmore, and I also fielded a number of questions submitted by Yahoo Messenger. Thank you for the support.

By the way, BlogTalk Radio also posted a blog entry on the broadcast. This is the second time Political Pistachio has been recognized by the host network.

Tammy Faye Messner passed away. The cancer finally completed its course, and has taken this woman of faith to Heaven. She actually passed away Friday morning, but it was requested that news of her death not be released until tonight.

She was a shining example of how a person can make mistakes in life, serious ones in her case regarding the scandals that surrounded the PTL club, and her then husband, Jim Bakker, in the 80's, and through faith and repentance find her way back to the Lord.

Despite the storms of her life, and the battle with cancer, she kept her Christian Faith. She became a shining example of faith and forgiveness in the end, and we are all better for knowing her. God Bless you, Tammy Faye, and rest easy in the arms of the Lord.

I just received news that my employer is sending me out of town for the week to Las Vegas. I leave Sunday Morning. It'll take me probably a good six hours to drive my big rig to the location. Then it'll be fun in the sun (100+ degree weather). Faith When All Seems Lost

Tammy Faye Messner was recently interviewed by Larry King of CNN. What caught my attention most is knowing that as her life is reaching its end, her faith remains strong.

I do not know what it feels like to have cancer's deathly grip pull the life from my body as it is doing to Tammy Faye. I don't know how she feels, or what she is going through. It was apparent, watching the interview, that Tammy Faye is struggling, and that it would be easy for her to feel like all is lost.

Her faith, I believe, reminds her that all is not lost. The threat of a losing life, to her, it seems, is an opportunity to share the love she keeps through God.

I may not understand what it feels like to be in her situation, but I do know what it feels like to feel frightened about losing my life, and close to the end.

In 1985 I suffered a left temporal fracture (broken left temple in my skull) that resulted in me being locked up in a deep comatose state for a week and a half. Then, after I opened my eyes, though I responded to basic stimuli, I failed to be cognizant. I was hospitalized for three months, it took two years to full recover, and I suffered from a seizure disorder that finally abated eight years later. In the beginning I was having up to 80 trauma induced seizures per day.

When I suffered the injury to my head, as well as a number of other injuries, my marriage was just under a year old and my son was a newborn infant. The following two years of pure medical Hell nearly tore my marriage apart, frustrating my wife and I as I went through various programs to teach me how to walk again, among other things, and function as an able adult.

Now my wife and I approach our twenty-third anniversary, and through the storms that branched out from that horrible tragedy we experienced in 1985, we have grown strong and united.

When folks hear my story they say to me, "Wow, you were lucky."

"No," I say, "I was not lucky. God is not finished with me yet."

Tammy Faye reminds me of that kind of faith. Even as her life nears its end, and she struggles to communicate with Larry King, her undying faith and love shines through.

Interview with James Gilmore on PPR, McCain on CQ Radio, a Tragedy in the Bootie Family, Dumb Ox launches inspirational site


James Gilmore's term as Governor of Virginia ended in 2002. He has served as the RNC Chairman, Head of a National Committee on Terrorism, Chairman of the National Council on Readiness and Preparedness, and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. Governor Gilmore recently withdrew from the 2008 Presidential Race, and will be my guest on Political Pistachio Radio this coming Saturday, 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern.

Captain Ed of Captains Quarters today had Senator McCain on his BlogTalk Radio Show, CQ Radio. Check it out. You may not necessarily agree with McCain, but the interview is interesting to say the least.

John Bootie is an independent Presidential Candidate and was my guest last Saturday on Political Pistachio Radio. If you are reading this post prior to July 21st, 2007, then the podcast you are currently listening to is my interview with him. John Bootie and his family needs your prayer. His brother, Robert E. Bootie, passed away last Sunday after being hit by another vehicle on the roadway head-on. He was 55. His wife and child survived, but have been hospitalized. Robert Bootie's wife is currently in a coma, but expected to awaken soon. Robert's son is up and around and currently healing. The family of John Bootie also requests that we extend our prayer to the driver of the other vehicle, as well as her family. The driver of the other vehicle is currently in a coma and near death.

My good friend, Dumb Ox, is launching a new site on July 20th, 2007, and I have been invited to contribute. The new site is Ox. . .After Dark, and it is an honor to be asked to contribute to the site. The blog deals with relationship issues, family, and especially marital and romantic relationships. Fiction, true stories, tips, warnings, and some news will all be a part of this new blog. As a happily married man of 23 years, and a man who holds tight to his good and moral principles fueled by a faith in God, I am thrilled to be able to write a different kind of post. Any how, I actually contribute to a number of sites, but of late my contributions to these other sites have been few and far between due to a busy schedule - but that will change.

Just ask Obama who wishes to teach Kindergartners Sex Education, or any number of the members of the Left that wishes to make legal full term abortion, Gay Marriage, Public displays of nudity (tonight on Hannity and Colmes a liberal actually defended the nudity calling it art), and cowering away from the enemy rather than facing them and defending this nation.

By the way, the Congressional sleep-over to pressure Republicans regarding voting for a withdrawal date from Iraq was unsuccessful, as expected.

Disgusting World We Live In - But Feinstein May Have Pulled Her Head Out Of Her Butt

A number of articles daily get me all worked up. Here's a couple.

In Sonoma County two teenage girls set fire to a kitten, forcing the animal to go through two surgeries and for it to have its tail and the tips of its ears amputated. The skin on its back was burned off in the attack, leaving nothing but raw tissue.

And Barrack Obama, the great hope of the Liberals (aside from Billary) says: Sex Education for Kindergartners is the Right Thing To Do.

Are you freakin' kidding me? And this is what they call progressive? Seems more like regressive, to me!

Okay, how about this: Feinstein, after further review, says to Bush, "Free Ramos, Compean." That's right, that dumb you-know-what Senator from California actually believes, now that she's gone into it a little more, that those Border Patrol Agents who were essentially jailed for doing their job may have received sentences too harsh for the crime. Whew, you gotta read it to believe it.

Plane Crash In Brazil

A passenger jet crashed in Sao Paulo, Brazil earlier today. The entire compliment of 175 people on board are feared to be dead. The accident occured at the Congohaus airport. After sliding down the short runway, the airliner hit a gas station and a building.

TAM Airlines initially indicated there were 176 people on board the Airbus 320, then later lowered the total to 175. Due to the deaths of bystanders the death toll is thought to be as high as 200.

As many as 12 people on the ground (aside from those feared dead) are said to have been injured and taken to hospitals.

Banning Truth


Last year reports rose out of Britain that the Parliment was banning the term "Global War on Terror," because it might send the wrong message.

Earlier this year the Democrats wished to do the same because the term is considered by them to be "too broad." (Meaning that they don't like the idea it's Global - they want everybody to think the whole war is all about Iraq)

The Left wishes to impeach Bush and Cheney for high crimes and misdemeaners - adding Cheney is ridiculous because Cheney is a part of the Leglislative Branch of government serving as head of the Senate - and any impeachment idea is insane. Think about it. One of the cries for impeachment is calling the current battle in Iraq illegal (does the Left forget that in 2001 by a margin of 98-0 the Senate passed a resolution authorizing the president to "use all necessary and appropriate force" against terrorists and any nation that provided safe harbor and support to them?)

And now, in another attempt to ban truth, in Nebraska a judge has decided to ban the words "rape," "victim," "assailant" and "sexual-assault kit," in a rape case, and ordered witnesses to sign papers saying they wouldn't use the words. Words such as "sex" and "intercourse" were allowed. The reason? He didn't want the words to prejudice or mislead the jury.

Okay, let's back up a little. The Left wishes to ban "Global War on Terror," I believe, because they don't believe that this is a war at all. It's just a little misunderstanding, I suppose. A criminal act, perhaps.

Listen, my dear liberal friends, when a group says that they wish to destroy your civilization and then fly planes into buildings and kill over 3,000 people it is an act of war. And how, pray tell, should a nation respond to an act of war? Oh, I don't know, maybe we ought to take the war to the enemy so that they learn not to attack America again!

Are you afraid you might hurt the feelings of the enemy, or something?

Just like this judge banning those words in the sexual assault case - if the accusation is rape, it's rape. Don't sugar coat it. Since when are we supposed to be worried about the facts getting out? Hmmm?

As for this idiotic impeachment movement, name a crime. The Left says Bush has set himself up as King, or something like that. Are you kidding me? Radical Islam committed an act of war against the United States of America. And he didn't lie about the WMD either, idiots. We telegraphed that we were coming to look for the damn things and Saddam had plenty of time to ship them out. That's not lying, that's the Left warning the enemy before we come and then trying to shift the stupidy to the right.

If Bush is guilty of anything, it's handcuffing the troops. It's a war, and should be fought as a war. Let's take the gloves off and fight the dang thing!

"Oh, but Doug, don't you know that poor, innocent people may get killed. Not all Muslims are terrorists."

True. But all of the terrorists have been Muslim. And it's war. It's unfortunate, but sometimes innocents are lost in a war - especially when the cowardly enemy uses innocent people as human shields.

The Left is playing a game of seek and destroy. Instead of all this bull, how about using a little common sense?

Fact: The Jihadists brought the war to us, not the other way around. They wish to kill us and destroy our society. Wouldn't it be prudent to take the threat seriously? All that the Left is doing is playing these stupid games for political reasons. America is the least of their worries. They are out to get the White House.

Violence is in the world because people are violent against each other, not because America is a superpower. The Middle East is in a shambles because extreme radical Islam has made it that way, not because of our presence. Once again, they declared Jihad on us, not the other way around!

In order to seize power in America, the Left has realized that they cannot win on the issues, so the Democratic Party has decided to wage an all out war single-mindedly bent on discrediting the President, thus winning back he White House - even if it means compromising our national security while in the process of shutting down intelligence procedures in the name of civil rights, shutting down a containment facility in Gitmo by accusing it of using torture, and proclaiming that the war in the Middle East is illegal even though the majority of them voted in favor of it in the beginning. The Democratic Party has ignored the lessons of history. Bad guys do bad things and must be stopped, and they can only be stopped from a position of strength. The Left's ambitions, it turns out, are more important than the National Welfare of this country.

And before any of you liberals that may be reading this gets too high on your horse, think about this. The Taliban has been successfully driven from Afghanistan, and Saddam Hussein has been removed from power (and executed) in Iraq. Afghanistan and Iraq no longer sponsors terrorism. Neither of these nations live under the evils of tyranny any longer. The seeds of democracy have been planted in these nations. If Saddam Hussein was still in power in Iraq his ability to manufacture and use weapons of mass destruction would be reached by now and he would be either using them, or distributing them to terrorists. Our actions in Iraq stopped that innevitability.

The truth, however, according to the liberals, may prejudice or mislead the American People, so the Left would rather smear lies all around, toss in a few accusations, and then try to throw the "Fairness Doctrine" in there as well for the soul purpose of silencing the conservative voice.

Banning Truth leads to destruction. The enemy attacks weakness, and runs from strength. Evil prefers their victims to be unarmed.

Spain suffered the terrorist attack on the train station after an anti-war candidate took office in order to more quickly persuade him to pull out their troops from Iraq. Now Britain has suffered attacks shortly after Blair resigned and a more anti-war Minister has taken office. The message is clear - The Islamists realize that liberals, when faced with an attack, will pull out as fast as possible.

We must stay strong. We must continue to wage the global war on terror, and that is the truth.

the Games Liberals Play

Conservatism makes changes that makes life better for you. Examples as listed in Tom DeLay's Book, "No Retreat, No Surrender" on page 6:

Every American now pays lower federal income taxes

Twenty-five million taxpayers receive a child tax credit

Thirty million married couples pay less in taxes, because of marriage penalty relief

. . .

. . .

The U.S. Intelligence Community has more spy satellites and more agents, and operates in more nations, than ever before in the nation's history

. . .

Some 2.3 million former welfare recipients have jobs; 3.5 million fewer families live in poverty; and 2.9 million fewer children live in poverty as a result of welfare reform

. . .

Some 17 million seniors over the age of sixty-five now have prescription drug insurance coverage they never had before

. . .

Every American can set aside tax-free money for unexpected health expenses

. . .

Partial-birth abortion, the practice of partially taking a child out of a woman's womb and then murdering it, is now illegal

The federal criminal appeals process has been streamlined, and the processes of prosecuting death penalty cases and carrying out a death sentence has sped up.

Looking back on history it is apparent that Conservative Legislation works. But what about Liberalism?

In opposition of the above items, the Liberal Left:

Believes that everyone should pay higher federal income taxes so that they can pay for their social programs.

. . .

thinks that children cause additional carbon footprints and would rather institute a child tax penalty

. . .

believe that marriage is a silly little ritual and married couples receiving any tax advantage is unfair to unmarried couples anyway and they would then reinstate the marriage penalty tax

. . .

will, as Clinton and Carter did, downgrade and gut the American military, reducing our Navy to dangerously low levels while expanding military commitments, but rarely in an effort to protect national security. The expanded military commitments will be to use the U.S. military as a kind of glorified Peace Corps in situations that do not place American interest at risk, or by spreading humanitarian aid to murderous dictators and sponsors of genocide as Clinton did in Kosovo and Somalia, among other situations

. . .

will strip the U.S. Intelligence Community of their abilities to spy on the enemy, claiming that the very operation of an intelligence agency is in opposition of the ACLU and what they stand for (aaaargh!)

. . .

thinks that you and I are not able to take care of ourselves (self-reliance bad!) and will increase the number of welfare recipients by making it easier to qualify and make welfare a lifestyle. Poverty will increase, and the successful will be penalized for it, being required "share the wealth" with people who refuse to work and refuse to be self-reliant

. . .

will ensure that our older citizens will die sooner by enacting a socialized medicine program which will increase the waiting times for treatment as it has in Canada and Europe - so many of our elderly will simply die before receiving the care they so desperately need that they would have received sooner had the system remained under privatized medicine - and tax rates will remain high well into their later years to help pay for the socialized medical system - kicking the amount we pay in taxes to pay for the system that is inferior to nearly as much as we were paying for a superior privatized system

. . .

make abortion legal at all points of a pregnancy and will find themselves and their socialized medical system overwhelmed by medical emergencies resulting from the abortions as well as needing to wash more often in an attempt to get the blood of millions of babies off their hands

. . .

will outlaw the death penalty and lighten the penalties on most crimes, especially non-violent crimes.

. . .


If one studies the viewpoints of today's liberalism, and the games they play, it becomes apparent that Liberalism is simply an early stage of Communism. Liberalism, like socialism and communism, believes that it must destroy the existing system in order to place their system in control. And rather than being an example of doing what is best for the citizens and practicing the values of doing what is right, Liberalism pursues power. To reach that power, like Communism, they must destroy all obstacles that stand in the way by removing the message of the opposition, and by silencing the messengers. In their minds, to oppose Liberalism does not make you a person that has an opinion other than theirs. Instead, in the eyes of Liberalism, it makes you a narrow-minded Bush-bot who will be persecuted relentlessly by the Leftist Elite. Or as one liberal blogger puts it, opposing their viewpoint makes you a f***ing moron, vile Christian, a f***ing liar, a right-wing freak, authoritarian cult of the Christian right wing in America, and so on and so on and so on. Of course they overlook the fact that the Left is populated by hypocrites, and anti-American traitors.

Of course, when Conservatives say something that makes a little sense, the Left loves to quote us in an attempt to debunk it using age-old methods that includes conveniently misreading what we say or removing key elements so that the text can be construed as something different. And then they proudly proclaim that they have done nothing wrong, and are simply using our words against us. Conservative Bloggers are not the only ones that face this kind of attack. Ann Coulter does. And Rush Limbaugh is being silenced through their attempt to silence the messenger. Remember, if they can't beat the message, the Left tries to destroy it, and if that doesn't work, they go after the messenger. Next, our freedom of speech will be taken away by the Fairness Doctrine, if the Left has anything to do with it.

Well, personally, I am tired of the games the Left plays. So, I will close with a few items that gets them all up in an uproar, and ask them a few questions about it.

Hey Liberals, Answer this:

1. If someone threatens to kill you, should you seek the approval of your friends before you take measures to protect yourself? And if you take such measures to protect yourself on the advancing foe, is it a war-mongering attitude to hit back once the aggressor smacks you square in the face and is reaching for a weapon?

2. Since God is simply a delusion to the majority of the far left, who is more irrational? A man who believes in a God he doesn't see? Or a man who's offended by a God he doesn't believe in?

3. Would you be angry if your neighbors trashed their house, then moved into yours and claimed it was theirs in the first place, and that they had more of a right to your home, food, and yard than you did?

4. Would it be okay if you worked hard in school, earned an "A" in your class, and then the teacher said that your good grade ,which was achieved by your hard work, is unfair to the student in the back of the class who has turned in no homework and refuses to take tests and has an "F", so to be fair, your grade will be redistributed so that you both receive "C's"?

5. Would it be okay, since you want the fairness doctrine so bad, that on all of the CNN Shows, and MSNBC shows, and PBS, and so forth that Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity (and so on) co-host with each of those hosts so that the conservative view is also given?

Just a few thoughts. Chew on that for a while. And if any of my readers have any more questions for the far left, comment away. I am curious what they are, and may pose them to a few of my liberal admirers.

James Gilmore withdraws his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President


Jim Gilmore, former governor of the State of Virginia, and once the chairman of the Republican National Committee, has called it quits. He cites that though the experience has been rewarding for himself, his family, and his supporters, the combination of a late start and primary schedule has made it unrealistic that he can catch the front runners.

Another difficulty has been the money raised. Since January, according to Captain's Quarters, he has raised $381,000, while his rivals have collected tens of millions of dollars.

Gilmore has recognized this, stating in his announcement that he has ". . . come to believe that it takes more than a positive vision for our nation's future to successfully compete for the Presidency. I believe that it takes years of preparation to put in place both the political and financial infrastructure to contest what now amounts to a one-day national primary in February."

He will, however, remain active in the Republican Party and in public debate.

After an initial contact with his campaign representatives he has tentatively agreed to come on Political Pistachio Radio this coming Saturday to discuss the ups and downs of his short-lived run for President, and how he will remain involved in the Republican Party's candidates drive for the 2008 Presidency.

Grassroots Conservatism


A couple of Republicans are now challenging Bush's Iraq Policy. They are proposing that Bush must have a new strategy by mid-October, to make adjustments to the "reality" as they see it that sectarian factionalism is not likely to abate anytime soon. In the meantime, American Intelligence has determined that Al Qaeda is stepping up its efforts to infiltrate America as well as having acquired the capabilities it needs to strike America with another terror attack.

With the 2008 Presidential Election looming in the distance it is apparent that the Democratic Candidates all believe that appeasement of the enemy, and taking no action without first receiving approval from an impotent United Nations, is their position. The current president, though willing to take the fight to the nations that harbor terrorism, is unwilling to do what it takes to seal our borders which is necessary for national security. The Republican Presidential Candidates are undecided or wavering on a number of issues. They don't have a plan for the rapidly increasing fuel prices. None of them, aside from some of the minor candidates, have a definitive answer for the illegal alien problem. The War on Terror confounds them. Rudy is strong on terror, but a liberal when it comes to social issues. McCain is sunk. Romney has flip-flopped nearly as much as Kerry did during the last election.

What to do?

Minor Candidates like Hunter and Huckabee offer some possibilities, and the Conservative Right is hoping that Fred Thompson gets into the race, a possibility that may happen (and his numbers, even without officially announcing his candidacy are quite high).

The next four broadcasts of Political Pistachio Radio will address this conundrum by having grassroots conservative candidates on the show. First, tomorrow, July 14, 2007, we will have the self-proclaimed "next Lincoln/Reagan" on the show. His name is John Bootie.

On July 21st Cary Cartter will return to Political Pistachio Radio to talk more specifically on the issues that we did not get the opportunity to touch upon the last time he was on the show.

On July 28th a person close to Sarah Palin's candidacy will be on to tell us about her drive for the Presidency.

On August 4th Richard Smith, Christian Conservative, will be on the show to discuss his candidacy.

Then, after all of that, the shows get really interesting. On August 11th I have scheduled as a guest on Political Pistachio Radio Atlas Shrugs!

On August 25th one more candidate, Brad Lord-Leutweyler will be on the show.

Then, on September 8th Andrea Shea King will be my guest.

Grave Concerns For America


A few hours ago the House of Representatives voted to withdrawal U.S. troops from Iraq by Spring of 2008. The measure passed 223-201. Democrats and the anti-war crowd does not agree with President Bush, or the Conservative Right, that we can succeed in Iraq.

One of my main concerns is regarding the message this sends the enemy, and our allies. Dick Morris actually did a piece saying that it would be wise for Bush to concede, and begin a troop withdrawal. I disagree. Political motives are not a good reason for doing the wrong thing. Ahamdinejad in Iran has been waiting for this. Fact is, Iran is bent on Israel's Destruction, along with the demise of The West, and this is exactly what he disires from us. Pulling out will invite terrorists to come to America and hit us (Al Qaeda has already regrouped and is ready for another strike), places Israel in greater jeopardy, and betrays those in Iraq that believed in us and our presence. That bitterness, caused by us abandoning these people, will create a hatred that Iran and Syria will feed upon, and Iraq will once again become a haven for terrorists. And a pullout will also place doubt in our ally's minds regarding us.

And all of this is going on as Pakistan falls under more attacks from Al Qaeda (remember, Pakistan has nuclear weapons), and Islamic militants kill 14 Philippine marines, beheading ten of them.

As this is going on, the Left desires to appease the enemy, underestimating the seriousness of the War on Terror. The MSM is content to focus on deathtolls in Iraq (rather than mentioning what good has been going on there such as the advances of most of the provinces toward self-protection, and the humanitarian efforts by American Troops such as immunizations of children, and the like.

Here's my grave concern about all this. It's not just that I see this as a dangerous mistake on our part. I see Islamism as a force determined to destroy the United States. Whether or not they can is not the point. The fact that they wish to is not something we should shrug off.

But it all goes deeper than that. I fear the very existance of the United States of America as being in grave danger. Not only do the Islamic Extremists wish to end our existance, but so does the Mexican extremists (and the movement is stronger than you realize), socialists in the Democratic Party, and the Internationalists in the Republican Party. Once, long ago, it was the communists from Russia. Now it's those groups above, as well as China, North Korea, and the like.

So I ask this question: Do we really wish to take the threat of ending American sovereignty lightly? Should we truly underestimate the possibility?

The North American Union

Tonight I watched the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. As an Angels of Anaheim fan it was gratifying to see the American League win (again), Frankie Rodriguez to get the save, and for Vladimir Guerrero to win the Home Run Derby the day before.

How interesting, though. Guerrero is from the Dominican Republic. Rodriguez is Venezuelan. And the Most Valuable Player of the game was Ichiro Suzuki from Japan.

America's Pasttime?

Okay, fine, I can handle players from around the world playing baseball in America. Baseball is loved around the world and to make it to the Major Leagues is the dream of many.

Then I came across an article from Newsmax that made me wonder how long baseball as an American pasttime, and America for that matter as its own sovereign nation, truly has left in existance. It just amazes me that there are those out there, Republicans (Bush and friends) especially, that wishes for the death of America in the hopes to bring into being The North American Union.

Perhaps it won't happen in my lifetime, but that's not the point. Our children deserve to enjoy the same free USA that we experienced, not some socialistic union that wants to be just like Europe's failed experiment.

Injured US Marine
A U.S. Marine squad was patrolling north of Fallujah when they came
upon an Iraqi terrorist, badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite
side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious
state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both
men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.

The Marine reported, "I was heavily armed and moving north along the
highway here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent. We saw each
other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled to
him that Saddam Hussein is a miserable lowlife, and he yelled back that

The Ragged Old Flag Flies Again

Tonight I called into Independently Correct Radio about two-thirds of the way into the show, and wound up speaking with Paul Couturier, the host, for about an hour. One of the subjects that we spoke quite a bit on was the immigration issue. He mentioned that he had been on Jenn of the Jungle's show earlier that day, and the subject seemed to be a hot issue there as well. In fact, the illegal alien issue is a hot issue everywhere, on both sides of the fence. But the arguments are so varied that the truth of the whole matter seems to be lost in the smoke.

MDConservative from Conservative Intelligence Report Blog said it best recently to me on the Yahoo Messenger when he said, "If you want to know how important it is to control immigration, just ask the indians."

Don't get me wrong. I suppport immigration. I support the melting pot of America. But I don't care if you are from Scotland or Denmark, you better come here legally, using the proper protocol established by this nation. This is not a race issue. And immigration laws don't need to be reformed. We need to enforce the laws on the books, and we need to treat it as a National Security Issue.

Fact is, along with the numerous Mexicans and such that are crossing the border, there are also a large number of Islamic people crossing as well.

"But wait, Doug, are you saying all Muslims are bad?"

But remember, even though all Muslims are not necessarily terrorists, all of the terrorists of late have been Muslim. And guess what? They are crossing the border, just waiting for the next opportunity to strike against our fine nation.

So we are really fighting two wars. A war against terror of which we have left our back door open so that they may have the opportunity to attack us, and a war against the illegal invasion from across the border by folks that could care less about America, and is determined to help bring down this great nation.

Climate Change Crisis


The sky is falling, the sky is falling, and Al Gore may receive a Nobel Peace Prize for spreading the lie!

That's right, folks, the great global warming lie may position Al Gore for a Nobel Peace Prize, and if he gets it, then he'll run for office as well.

And on the evening of 07-07-07 the music industry had a worldwide concert to raise money for the fight against human caused global warming via all of these outragious carbon footprints we are leaving all over the place.

Problem is, true science recognizes that mankind's itty-bitty contribution of greenhouse gases is not nearly enough to affect such a change to the global climate. The real cause of causing the globe to warm is - wait for it - drumroll please - the Sun.

What?

The sun is warming the planet? Oh, how absurd. Can't be so.

Yep, sunspot activity is the cause of global warming. And here's the real kicker (okay, sounds like deja vu, I've said this before, but it's just too dang interesting that the Left is so stupid to believe the junk pushed by the eco-nazis): Carbon Dioxide increases in the atmosphere is not being caused by us, but by the warming of the planet. In other words, they've got it backwards.

So, for all of those "Live Earth" bands playing their hearts out for the Global Climate Change Crisis, be happy to know that all that money you are raising is going into the pockets of the new reverends of environmentalism.

Stewards of the Planet

I was listening to Air1 Radio the other day and an interesting topic came up. They were talking about the re-usable bags some folks use so that they don't use paper or plastic. It's an interesting subject because of course the environmentalist crowd is all for it, as well as penalizing you for using plastic or paper (I heard on a different show that there is a drive for charging to use store provided bags, though I don't know if that is necessarily the case, just yet). The morning show host, Mike, said something interesting. He didn't like the way environmentalism is being pushed, but on the same token he admits that the Lord wishes us to be good stewards of the planet.

This goes back to something I have said a number of times. I agree that we should try to take care of Earth. If there is gunk in the water and gunk in the air, we should work to clean that, and minimize future gunk. I have no problem with us being "responsible" when it comes to how we treat our planet. However, my complaint about environmentalists is the application and the extremism of "the cause."

Global Warming is a great example. Environmentalists have determined that we are the cause of Global Warming and that if we don't do something soon within 30 years we will need to be building arks to deal with the rising seas (a la Gore), despite the fact that there is much scientific proof saying otherwise. Then, on top of that, if you don't do whatever it takes to minimize your "carbon footprint," or agree with them mindlessly, then you are some kind of heathen or such. Now, what's interesting is that this is the same tactic they also accuse Christians of using in reference to Christianity.

And except in a few isolated cases, this is far from the truth as well.

I suppose in this post (or stream of consciousness as one would say) I am trying to say that though I have a problem with environmentalism and their tactics, I do not recommend that we ignore our environment either. It's a matter of common sense, which, unfortunately, is not too common nowadays.

By the way, I have posted the one poem that I have had published on my Defender of the Blahs site, if you care to read it. It's called, "Peaceful Advice."

And a particular liberal, the one that calls me his favorite rightwing loon, has challenged me to a debate. I am sure he will read this, and of course he will misunderstand or mischaracterize my answer. I shall decline such challenge. Not because I don't think I can out debate you. Substance and Truth will always prevail over trickery by folks such as you. However, I have learned the hard way that liberals don't play fair, and in the end, such a debate can only wind up bad. Last time I debated a liberal he did as all liberals do and threw a boomerang into the argument that befuddled me because I had not really thought of such a possible attack before. He said, "You know, Billy Graham votes Democrat." Had I have been on my toes I would have thought about Billy's age and figured that perhaps at one time he had in fact been an FDR Democrat (which doesn't even come close to resembling today's Leninist Democrat) at one time, but surely he didn't vote that way anymore because I have trouble seeing a truly born again Christian supporting a party that endorses the mass genocide of the unborn, or the societal blessings for gay marriage. And, to be honest, Neurotic Tom is a sharp cookie, and probably has a dozen tricks up his sleeve and a dozen more in his pocket. Sorry, Tom, but I won't play your game, and that is what you are, a game player. If anything, I feel sorry for you. It's a real shame that someone with such potential could be hornswaggled so easily by the propaganda of the Marxist Left.

Motives


I planned to do a nice post about the Patriot Act tonight, considering that this Saturday's guest on Political Pistachio Radio is going to be Paul Ibbetson, author of the book, "Living Under The Patriot Act: Educating a Society," as well as an expert on terrorism and national security. However, news items and liberal musings about me, and observations of today's world got me thinking. And you know, it made me really think about people's motives.

I've posted about "motives" before, so I suppose this is nothing new. Some liberal motives are grounded in good intentions, but fall short when applied to reality. Human Nature, unfortunately, is not capable of behaving in the "Fair" and "Utopian" society that the far left seems to be wishing for (the proper name for such an unreachable society is "socialism"). Other liberal motives are sometimes simply to attack and be a mean as they can be to get their point across. A liberal writes often about me in such a way - my buddy SkyDiveRick usually alerts me when it gets really bad over there (No link to the liberal's site - he doesn't deserve the traffic, nor the attention), lashing out with name calling and attacks and facts more often than not retrieved from left-leaning sources. Sometimes a person's motives are good, but fall short. Sometimes their motives are poor, and somehow things work out fine. Regardless, I was once asked about "sin", and me being a Christian, of course, I had an answer. I believe that sometimes something is not necessarily wrong for what it is, but for the reason behind it. Example: It isn't a sin to eat, but if the reason for eating is to use the food to replace a void in one's life, in a vain attempt to make the person feel better, resulting in a gluttonous frenzy of overeating, it is a sin.

But sin is not what this post is about. It is about motives, and motives when it comes to the liberal left often perplex me. Environmentalists too. The reason is that it fascinates me how folks will say their motive is one thing, when often it is actually something different. Or claim to have certain motives and their actions don't necessarily follow suit (Gore is a shining example of that one - considering the CO2 he spews into the atmosphere with his private jets, etc.). The article that said this the loudest, for me however, was one I read in yesterday's newspaper.

The headline in my local paper read: Prius is pick for flashing green. The story, by the way, was on the front page, too. Now, I could not find the link to the story at the site of my paper on the web, but the same story also was in the New York Times, so the above link sends you there. Anyhow, the article states that the Prius hybrid car is selling well, while other hybrids are not. Why is this? The answer is startling.

I figure environmentally conscious folks who buy the hybrids do it as a way of doing their part in the phantom Global Warming Crisis, or perhaps they do it for the better mileage. Makes sense, right?

The main reason that the Prius sells better is not for the noble cause of being green, per se, but because it is more obviously a hybrid. In other words, the buyers want everyone to know that they are driving a hybrid because the Prius is sold only as a hybrid, and unlike the other hybrids (Honda Civic, Ford Escape, Saturn Vue) it can't be confused as being a non-hybrid vehicle. It's more about show than substance.

I got a kick out of the fact that the marketing research company that figured this out is based in Bandon, Oregon (you know, the town where I had a confrontation with the liberal hippie). Anyway, I just thought that was pretty shallow of the hybrid owners who talk about putting Earth first, but in reality it's all about putting their personal image first.

It's like folks who give to charities. It is good to give to charities, but if folks have to go around telling everybody they do so, and then list the charities they give to, one wonders about the real reasons these folks give to charities in the first place. Same thing with the Prius. These people didn't really buy the car, deep down, because of some virtuous attempt to save the world, but so that they could go around showing off to people that they are so-called "environmentally conscious."

It's bad enough that the liberal left has brainwashed the world into believing that we are causing Global Warming (when considering our minuscule output of greenhouse gases alone that is comically not likely - not counting the "real" scientific facts that the globe is warming because of sunspot activity, not CO2, and that in reality, the CO2 is not causing the warming, the warming is causing the increase in CO2!), and besides, I think the Earth has been too cold for too long and that in reality it is actually returning to its proper "warmer" temperature, which will allow, if one thinks about this, for us to grow more crops for our ever increasing population since the warming will create more fertile land further to the north. And we seem to forget that once, before the discovery of America by Columbus, and when Eric the Red located the Canadian Coastline, Greenland was green. But when these environmentalists claim they are so eco-friendly, and their real motivation is for them to look good and look green in the eyes of their peers over doing it for their cause, it sums up to me what these hypocrites are truly all about.

Oh, and as an added note, my first blog is getting a little attention again. Defender of the Blahs is supposed to be a journal of my journey to publication, but more often than not, nowadays, the news is little and far between, so I've decided to begin posting old stories and poetry I've written over the years on that site. Tonight I posted a poem I wrote way back in 1981 when I was fifteen years old. It's not a poem by a polished writer, considering my age and experience, at the time, but it's entertaining nonetheless. Anyway, if you dare, give it a read.

Independence Day


America gained its independence 231 years ago. The independence this nation gained was from the control of England. King George had determined that the American Colonies should continue to be controlled by The Crown when the American Colonies declared their independence, using the words that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

"Created," and "Creator."

For those that argue that this nation is not founded upon Judeo-Christian principles apparently didn't notice those words - "created" and "Creator" in the Declaration of Independence. This also dismisses the current version of what people believe to be the "Separation of Church and State." That separation was designed to ensure that the government did not get into the business of the church, not the other way around.

Notice that among these are the "pursuit" of happiness. We are created equal, but it is by our ambitions, drive, or whatever that determines our success, and the Declaration of Independence recognizes that. There is no mention of "fairness" or "wealth redistribution." Our nation was founded so that the "opportunity" of a better life is available. This opportunity is to be worked for, not given, and only to those that value this nation and what she stands for.

In other words, earn it, and the government has no business taking it away and distributing such earnings to those that did not earn it.

Americans crave freedom, because freedom allows us to be self-reliant. Freedom allows us to live our lives without the tyranny of oppression. Americans are givers, teachers, and contributors. Americans retain a human spirit that enables us to be driven for success, and national pride.

I am proud to be uniquely American.

And on Independence Day it is not just a time to celebrate the independence of this nation from the tyranny of England, but to celebrate the qualities that make us American. It is a day to celebrate the principles this nation was founded upon. It is a day to celebrate the liberty we enjoy because of those that gave their lives to secure such liberty.

Honoring The National Anthem

Tonight I attended the Arena Football League Playoff Game in Los Angeles that pitted the Los Angeles Avengers against the Utah Blaze. LA beat Utah 64-42.

Anyhow, at the beginning of the game I was at the box office receiving some vouchers when the National Anthem began. So I immediately removed my sunglasses from the top of my head, placed my hand on my heart, and though I could see no flag, I faced in the direction I believed the Stars and Stripes inside the arena to be.

In my line of sight I was the only one to do so.

I was disappointed to see that none of my fellow Americans were willing to stop their conversations or their journey to wherever they were going in the arena to honor our country, and our flag.

How can we proclaim the pride of our sovereignty as a nation when we are not even willing to stop gabbing on the cell phone to place our hand on our heart when the national anthem plays?

Absolutes and Moral Relativism



Today I was having a conversation with someone and the subject of parenting in this current society became the topic of conversation. She said that it's a shame that kids from the gang and drug infested area of Los Angeles, because of their environment, are destined to become gang members and drug users (as if it was an absolute). I responded by telling her that she was wrong in her opinion. Such an environment may make it more likely for a child to wind up in gangs and a drug user, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is absolutely the case every time. I know many kids that came from great upbringings that wound up messed up, and many kids from messed up childhoods that went on to do great things during their adult life.

My point is, in the end, though a number of variables may make something more likely to go in one direction, a change in direction is always possible. In those kinds of cases, one cannot preach absolutes.

Example: The idea of taking the war to the terrorists is to minimize the chances that there will be another attack against the United States. Take the war to them, and keep them off-balance and convinced that the United States is strong and won't put up with their crap. Do this, and odds are the enemy will be more unlikely to attack us. If we show weakness it will tend to embolden the enemy, making it more likely that they will strike against us. Liberals, however, will view this as if conservatives believe it is an absolute. The recent attacks in the United Kingdom drew that kind of garbage from the left - They love to call what they assume to be what conservatives believe about the conflict in Iraq to be what they love to call the "Roach Motel" theory.

Fact is, though being in the Middle East with our troops definitely lessens the chances of more terror attacks against the U.S., it does not absolutely eliminate the chance. With an enemy like the one we currently face, driven by a violent and insane ideology, it just isn't possible to completely eliminate such possibilities of attack. Many of the terrorist cells are independent from each other and don't know what the other ones are doing. They may have the same goal (to bring down the West), but they are not always completely in tune with each other when it comes to coordinating attacks. So, this means that even though the chances are slimmer that they will hit us while we take the war to them, the possibility that the United States may suffer another terrorist attack from Islamism is still present.

Knowing that the opportunity for another terrorist attack against the United States is out there, then it would make sense to continue to take all security measures to protect our nation from such a possibility. This would mean sealing the borders, carefully screening everyone coming in to our country, profiling the group that is most likely to launch a terrorist attack (Muslims between the ages of 15 and 35), and constant heavy security at our most vulnerable places such as airports, and such.

So why don't we do these things?

Political Correctness, and more specifically, multi-culturalism and moral relativism.

I have been quoted in the past as saying things like, "I don't want multi-culturalism and diversity in America." The liberals went nuts on that. I must be a White-Supremicist Nazi for saying something like that, right?

Now that the liberals have their panties up in a bunch, let me explain as I had failed to clearly before.

Back during the sixties the Civil Rights movement's primary goal was to end segregation. Blacks were not going to be treated like second class citizens anymore. After centuries of oppression from Whites, the idea of a single America, regardless of color, was finally taking shape. And the Black leaders of that day, Martin Luther King for one, should be revered for what they did as a part of that movement. No more would there be Blacks, Whites, Browns, and so forth. We would stand together, hopefully someday, as Americans.

The idea of multi-culturalism and diversity teaches that folks should embrace their racial identity, foster bilingualism, and to improve support services and physical facilities for all people by catering to their ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds (unless you are Christian, of course, then it's a crime to do so).

Sounds great, doesn't it? But to do so we must make allowances for each diverse race, ethnicity, religion, and such. This, my friends, means that special allowances should be made to make them feel more at home, rather than having these people assimilate into American Culture. To me this is preferential treatment, as well as a return to segregation. This is why I say I don't want multi-culturalism and diversity. Not because being sensitive to other people's cultures and heritage and such is such a bad thing, but because along with retaining whatever their culture and such is, their number one priority should be to assimilate into our culture. To be an American.

By giving in to these groups and giving them preferential treatment because we are so afraid of offending them or pissing them off, we are offending and pissing off the most important folks of all, those that are Americans.

And with this fear of offending folks of different ethnicities and religions, we have carried it into other parts of our culture, creating a system of moral relativism. For fear of offending folks that perform activities that were once considered immoral we have made concessions, as well as using psychology and philosophy to explain away deviant behavior.

Let me put it this way. A truly wonderful utopian society would be inhabited by people that work together. Everyone would work with their own hands to produce something good, and be glad to do it because it would be for the common good. People would whistle and sing as they worked, with no worries or anxiety because the people all together would be taking care of each other. There would be no argument over anything, because everyone's concern would be the village. Race and religion would be non-issues. Only the smooth clock-work of the common good would matter. The economy wouldn't matter, either, because there would be no rich or poor. We'd all just share and share alike. Ah, what a wonderful world it could be, right? Doesn't that just sound great?

This is the world that socialism, liberalism, and globalism all envision. Sounds like utopia. But it is not rooted in reality. Reality is that if not driven to succeed by competition and the possibility of losing one's level of living, the pieces that moves society forward falls apart. People, when given everything by the government, eventually become dependent upon it, and lose their ability to be self-reliant. When everything is accepted through moral relativism, people will choose to do the wrong thing, and abuse the system. People don't work together too well. It's human nature.

I am a big fan of self-reliance and responsible decision making, and if everyone did the same this would be a great society. But folks don't. But when a poor decision is made it is counter-productive to just explain it away and allow such behavior to continue in an attempt to be tolerant.

There are some absolutes in life that do exist and are important. But unfortunately while everyone is trying to create absolutes in things where no absolute should exist, folks forget the absolutes that should exist. To sum those absolutes up in a nutshell: "Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong." It is wrong to steal, for example. But not in the liberal world. They will, instead, find a reason to nurture the person and to discover why they would do such a thing, rather than offer punishment for the crime. Murder is murder, unless in a situation of self-defense or in war where to kill the enemy will stop a larger slaughter of your own citizens by such enemy. Not in the minds of liberals. If an enemy wishes to kill you, according to them, and if an enemy commits an act of war, even when the enemy is unreasonable and unwilling to listen to reason, we have to be diplomatic. However, also in the liberal's eyes, to kill an unborn baby is perfectly acceptable, because a woman's choice is more important than a child's life.

Is it me, or is the liberal position kind of backwards?

Glasgow, "What Are We Fighting For?", and Oregon Coast Pics

I was watching a broadcast about the attack on the Glasgow Airport and a point was brought up that I found fascinating. A guest on Fox News' "The Lineup" stated that it is possible that the attacks in Britain may have something to do with the recent change of power in government. However, an attack would be unlikely on the U.S. right now because an attack would give Republicans more support - Terrorists, according to the guest (sorry, I don't recall his name) will wait until the Republicans are no longer in power and they feel they can attack without a response from Washington.

Bob Anderson from What Are We Fighting For? was my guest on Political Pistachio Radio this weekend. He was a fantastic guest, very informative on terrorism, terrorist capabilities regarding attacks and the nuclear factor, immigration, and the need to re-Americanize America.
